I worked as a mental health specialist (aka I body slammed crazy people when they got violent) for 10 years. What a thankless field, I always envied how the clinicians never had to put hands on anyone and were actually helping rather than just putting out fires.

Beat infinite warfare and Michonne last night. Both were excellent. Fired up escape dead island to see what the hate was all about and kinda enjoyed it. WTF is wrong with me

I have a bunch of first-third year textbooks I don't need anymore and selling them would be great.

I didn't like it, I sold some things a few years ago...

I'm not liking ebay too much these days as well...and I've sold about $25-30k on there.

Besides selling on Amazon, you can also "trade in" your textbooks. It isn't as much of a hassle and you get Amazon credit for your "trade in"

I beat Watch Dogs 2 (on PS4) last night. Decent but certainly nothing awesome. Will clean up the rest of the trophies this week/weekend and move on to something else. Looks to be a fairly easy 100%. Maybe FH3.

It's easy, they tell you the exact amount you are going to get before you confirm the listing. They have a higher fee than ebay, but you can usually sell it for a little more so it evens out. I usually just trade textbooks in for amazon credit tho.

Escape Dead Island isn't a bad game, it's just not a typical Dead Island game.

EDIT - The worst part about the game is that the disc version only fetches $0.75 at GameStop...

On top of what Chnandler said, if you have an Xbox one and have it digitally (should also work if you have the disc version) press the hamburger/start button on the game tile, select "manage game" and any dlc you have purchased should show up under "ready to install."
 
Yacht Club Games just announced a Switch version of Shovel Knight, but plenty of other stuff is in the announcement too. The base game that is already owned and still purchasable until spring is becoming Shovel Knight: Treasure Trove, meaning it gets ALL future updates free. This version will still be purchasable in the future but the price is going to go up. Once this happens, you'll also have to option to individually buy each characters separate campaigns. If I had to guess the main game will probably go up to $20-25, with each campaign being between $5-10, I'm thinking $7 seems like a sweet spot there.

Initially these were supposed to just be "play the campaign with a different person" but have basically ballooned into mostly unique games with redesigned stages, combat, and story. I sort of got the impression something like this could happen once they put out their numbers of just how much was being spent on these. Originally they were stretch goals from the Kickstarter that are free for all backers and purchasers. Seems like a pretty good compromise, and they warned us of the price hike.

It probably won't drop below $15 again, I'd recommend picking it up soon so you get all the future stuff included. Personally I'm probably going to rebuy it since I had the Wii U version and it's practically in the grave now. Currently there are 2 full campaigns in the game. Specter of Torment is coming soon along with a gender swap mode that I think is probably going to consist of a somewhat different script on top of totally redone sprites and art. A full King Knight campaign is also coming, along with 2 player co-op and 4 player versus modes this year. Plus on Xbox we have an exclusive Battletoads level, boss fight, and armor.

So the GS by the job had a used Bad Company 2 used according to the app. Went in, took a few minutes to find it cause it wasn't on wall, but in some bargain bin. Had the generic cover and the price said $1.79. Got to the cashier and they couldn't find the disc. :twoguns: :twoguns: :twoguns:

One and Two are irrelevant. I haven't played five, but I have been told it isn't as good as the previous games. Tropico 4 is probably the best one in the series because it streamlines a lot of the great features from Tropico 3. Both are excellent though!

Basically yes, it's pretty much like when Bethesda raised the price on the Fallout 4 Season Pass. As to why, I dug up the update that outlined some lessons learned during the development of the last free update. Here are some of the highlights but this giant article is interesting if you want to learn a bit more about development and sales of indie games.

-We spent about 1 million dollars developing Plague of Shadows over the course of a year.

-We made zero dollars selling Plague of Shadows. Whoops!

-Development started in July 2014 with the target release date of Q2 2015. The update was released in September 2015. Boy, did we go late!
Plague of Shadows started as the Kickstarter Stretch Goal “New Playable Boss Knight” at the $115k funding goal. It also included the Stretch Goal “Challenge Mode” reached at the $180k Stretch Goal. By people using ‘Kickstarter math’, that means we should have spent $35,000 developing the content.

Basically it cost dramatically more than outlined on Kickstarter, while effectively taking the same amount of effort and resources as a brand new game, but without the benefits of drawing in new income or even much media exposure since very few reviews were done on Plague of Shadows.

The new plan does a few things. First, it should negate the possible backlash of charging for material that was part of the Kickstarter goals. Second, it lets them get more money for future purchases of what is essentially 4 times the content of the original release of Shovel Knight. And third, they mention this as a decent option for people rebuying the game on a secondary platforms, giving them a cheaper option to experience just the new content On the last point, I don't know how much that itself will drive sales, though maybe being able to buy just one portion for cheap could get more people interested. It seems like an option to upgrade to the complete package would make sense too.

Just got out of a Horde session put together on TA, we were one man short for the developers playlist and some random joined. We invited him into the party just to make sure he wasn't a complete moron, and it turned out he was a Re-Up 7 and had a level 9 Heavy. Dude was awesome, best random ever.
 
Well, that made me purchase Shovel Knight. Been waiting for a sub $10 sale as I've had it on disc for the Wii U, but if the price is gonna go up in Spring then I'm buying it now. The devs are awesome and truly know how to support a game; I don't mind double dipping at all. Yacht Club Games rule.
 
I think you guys have sold me on Shovel Knight (along with the praise I've heard earlier here for the game). I'm not usually super fond of platformers, but I do enjoy them when they're really well made.
