Microsoft are such assholes sometimes.  Out of all the times that Dragon Age: Origins has ever been on sale for $5 or less over the past four years, I finally decide to buy it this time since the Awakening expansion was free recently.  Then a day after the sale ends, they announce that it's a GWG next month.

I guess I could try to get a refund from Microsoft Support, but I don't know if it's even worth the hassle.

They did not, it's just the original Dark Arisen version with the save transfer bonuses and the couple of DLCs that were added to it, which were hairstyles and extra difficulty for Bitterblack Isle.

The improvements were pretty good though. The 360/PS3 versions had a weird letterbox resolution to help performance and that was removed on PC. Performance could get pretty chunky on the original too, dipping well under the target 30 FPS if a lot of magic was happening on screen, and this was tuned up to a rock solid 60 FPS and beyond on PC.

Going by the RE ports on the same engine I think it's probable that well see 1080/60 for Xbox, though a lower framerate may happen, as they said in the past the performance issues were mainly because the engine wasn't really intended for open world games.

I'm excited for this port as I love Dragon's Dogma, though I am a bit worried about price. It launched on PC at $40, though it's now down to $30. I'm hoping for $20 like the other Capcom ports but I guess I'd be alright with $30.

I agree, have no idea what the first one is, own WD1 and it's boring as shit. WD2 is where it's at. Own AC3 on disc and not a fan of the RPG games

 
Powerstar Golf was one of the first games I bought and enjoyed it.  I think they have a free version to try out.  Plenty of time to get the feel for it and decide if it's worth $5.  There are times when I'm doing good then all of a sudden the AI gets "lucky" and makes a hole in one.  I don't think it happens all the time but when it happens it pisses me off in a fun way lol.

Yeah you'll be able to play and get a good grasp of how it plays with the free version. Unlock it and you have all the golfers at your disposal as well as all the courses.

The game is a lot of fun, like a hot shots kind of golf game. Each golfer has their own abilities, but they've got a quantity of them. The only thing I don't like about it, you can't use the ability for every hole/ you have to play some strategy and know when to use what when. Caddies also have an ability and a number to use. There are a bunch of packs you can get after your round is up, with bonuses from the mini challenges they throw out while on the course (like get on the green without going off the fairway, etc). There's also a nice little "leaderboard" like process, similar to like back in the Tiger Woods EA days where you can see how far someone hit their drive or how close they were to the pin/sunk the longest putt. THere's a ton of stats and each golfer has their pluses and minuses with equipment complementing each play style via RPG stats.

You can play against friends or whatnot, I don't know why AI would get all lucky all of a sudden as usually you're playing ghosts of people on your friend's list.

The later courses are a lot of fun, esp the Cannon one. You can get a hole in one on a few, there's a few shortcuts to help you out.

 
For all wondering about a refund, here is what you do to get one.(or at least what i did)

1. Call microsoft support. or have them call you.

2. Mention you are in the beta or alpha program. and tell them the self refund is not working. Mention you downloaded and tried the game but under have under 2 hours. (If you aren't in the program don't say you are or aren't just pretend the refund thing is out for everyone, and mention you downloaded and tried the game.

3. The tricky part. You will be asked why you want a refund. I was honest and told them I bought the game less than 24hrs ago, then found out it was gwg next month, so i wanted a refund. You could say you were having trouble with your physical copy reading, but then got it to work.(this was my backup)

4. BE fuck  NICE! I cannot stress this enough. just suck it up and do it.

As long as you don't have many refunds this year, they will give you the refund. They usually allow one per fiscal year. This was my second refund this year already.

The refund program applies to all digital content, except for some Windows apps, season passes, dlc or in game content.

So basically full games only.

Yup, still downloading Halo Wars 2. You'd think if they make you download the entire game that you'd be eligible for your physical copy being a play anywhere title. Maybe I should call customer support and see what they can do lol. It's just ridiculous to expect someone to just redownload the entire game and previous updates.

I'm currently in the alpha preview, but the request a refund "button" isn't showing on my order history page like the insider hub says it should. The guy from MS support said it wasn't working for a lot of people yet.

On a side note is $12.99 a good price for Warhammer: Vermintide? Was looking at it in the gamefly sale.

 
Just caught up and look when you're playing team up online on NBA 2K17 and you have teammates that don't pass the ball or just being stupid with the ball, yes i'm going to be an asshole and ruin and troll the game. 4 people on my team, me and my friend and him and his splitscreen buddy hence the reason he wanted to play us.

I'm not going to quit and be penalized, either they quit or it's gonna be a long 4 quarters or however many is left. In this case, ended up being the basically the whole game since from tip-off they were being like that. Play as a team you know since its called TEAM UP and then it wouldn't come to that.

So no I didn't just join a game and decide hey lets eff this thing up, they made me do it

XBox One is losing one of it's rare exclusives in August.

Raiden V is coming to PS4 in August AFAIK the only difference is It's getting a disc release in the US (had a disc release on X1 in Japan, but was digital only here) and has a soundtrack. Not noticing any other new features.

Can't really blame MOSS here considering the X1 didn't sell at all in Japan.

Yeah, this was a weird choice to begin with. I guess maybe because of the 360's somewhat successful run of shumps that were exclusive, but those were all a while back.

 
KR you're my guy and all but that post just reinforces my decision to never play another NBA 2K game online ever again. I get it, its competition, blahblah, but my god, I play Gears Of War semi-competitively, a game which is notorious for having some of the most ruthless shit-talkers online, and I have NEVER encountered a group of more obnoxious assholes than I did on my time with 2K17. That community is beyond toxic, its like every play is fucking Game 7 of the REAL LIFE NBA Finals.

It definitely sucks when no one passes the ball. I understand. Its a team game and when no one plays as a team it ruins the whole thing. Its like when I play Escalation and you have that one guy who cares more about his gotdamn K/D ratio than playing the objective. I don't say anything to them though, I just keep playing and hope for the best.

I only ended up buying two games from the sale, and already beat one of them. I did not make nearly as much progress I wanted to over my 3 week break between semesters though. I finished three (?) games and was really hoping for like 6 or 7. Ended up dedicating way more time to cleaning than planned, but at least my house looks a lot better I guess.

 
Seriously if people are trolling or being dumbasses in an online team based game, just fucking leave. It's annoying enough with how toxic most communities are in team based games that it's hard not to get mad at online people especially if you're playing a ranked match or something. But just straight up trolling wastes every bodies time and isn't funny to anyone. Whoever reads this that's my .02

Well, I contacted Xbox Support through live chat about Dragon Age: Origins.  I just told the agent the truth and after checking with a specialist, he processed a "one time return order" for the game and said that I should see a refund of $4.94 on my account within 24-72 hours.

That was a lot easier and less painful than I expected.

Tell me about, most know I pretty much only play Gears, 2K, and Madden these days. Like Gears 4 is my fav MP game and Gears is favorite MP game franchise ever and that game pisses me off like no other.

There's nothing worse in this world than those people that play objective game modes and play for kills or play something like TDM and is constantly dying dropping the total kills the team has.

I'm good enough to carry my team most games when it comes to Gears but it can be so frustrating sometimes.

This is why i call or have support call me. The chat is much harder to get a favorable resolution imho. Did you try the whole "self refund" wasn't working. Because the service agreement now allows refunds.....after a review.

Oh man, what a load of crap. How early in the sale did you buy the game? Maybe the reason I was refunded is because my purchase date for the game is yesterday.

Obviously any time you buy a game digitally there's a chance of it becoming a GWG down the line, but this just feels like a slap in the face.

Nah I just straight up told the 100 percent truth of the situation. Not really worth another try to me for under 5 bucks. I take advantage of the price glitches so I'll call it even. They will lose quite a bit though because if they wanna pull the gwg a week after the sale I'll just stop buying shit for the 360.

While not participating in the objective of such a game mode is voluntary, "not dying a lot" usually isn't. If I'm not on top of my game and I'm frustrated by that, the LAST thing I want is to hear people's flowery language about it. If I'm playing some sort of competitive MP where I can hear randos on the server, I instantly mute them all. Since I don't play any "tactical" MP games that require coordination, that usually isn't a problem.
