Please note:

  • You cannot currently buy any Xbox 360 content on xbox.com using your account balance, you can only use an active credit card or PayPal. To use your balance, you must make purchases on your console.  Unfortunately, even "purchasing" free content through the web site like trials requires an alternative method of payment tied to your account, though adding an empty MasterCard / Visa gift card that is registered for online purchases will work.  Xbox One games can be purchased on the web site with your account balance.
  • Some sales are intended for Gold subscribers only, as noted within each section.
On Xbox One, Gold trials of any length work for sales and Games with Gold.  You must be an active Gold subscriber (paid or trial) to play Games with Gold purchases.
  • On Xbox 360, you must have at least a 1 month Gold subscription for sales and Games with Gold.  Neither 48 hour trials, 14 day trials nor free weekends qualify.

[*]All known sales and information on sales should make their way into the OP. Major Nelson usually updates his blog with new sales information every Tuesday.
[*]ALL OFFERS ARE SUBJECT TO CHANGE! No information within this thread can or should be construed as accurate (or still valid), therefore ...

I'm pretty sure this is the 87th time that The Handsome Collection has been $19.80. Funny how they refuse to go less on it for this long. I know physical has been less but I'm going to bite digitally once it goes under $15.

I funded the Kickstarter campaign for Friday the 13th, and received my code at 12 midnight on Friday. After trying the first day to play online with no success, I try to find a match tonight and still nothing. Waited a whole 15 minutes for a "quick" match search and it's very disappointing, especially when they give some YouTube hacks early copies of the game… and they're able to find matches somehow. Maybe it's just an Xbox thing idk, but I'm done funding KS games. So far I've yet to see any decent crowd funded game, but maybe Shemnue 3 will prove me wrong. (Didn't help fund that one though)
I still haven't gotten my code. Don't know if that's a good thing or a bad thing. They have had my money for better than a year and a half, though. I feel I should've gotten the code by now. I can't seem to get a response from anyone about it. First and probably last kickstarter I'll contribute to.

Matchmaking is fucked on all platforms. I've heard using the new LFG feature to do private games is the workaround for now.

Shovel Knight is definitely the posterboy for a good Kickstarter release.

It was this past weekend during the free play, but not any longer. A little surprised it didn't carry over to a Gold discount, like other free play weekends have done recently.
yeah that was surprising. I was looking for it to kick over to the weekly deals. Probally for the best because I think I would have caved if it was on sale all week.

I was surprised it didn't continue also since the discount expired at 8pm.

I have it on ps4. Took forever to get into a match felt like i was playing Halo Anniversary.

Hopefully by the time October rolls around they'll have it up and running for a sale.

It made me feel better about my $40 Ultra Street Fighter 4 purchase at least :/

The matchmaking tool on the Xbox version in particular is broken. From what I understand, literally the only way to find a match currently is to use the "Looking for Group" tool.

The game seems like a great 'party' game, so in a totally-not-cool way, they're heightening the social experience by requiring you to make friends before you can even play. Thanks, mom!

I backed the game on KickStarter because I want to see interesting concepts come to life. (I backed Perception, Shenmue 3, and Deliverance: Kingdom Come, as well.) I have watched some streams and Friday the 13th looks fun. But it needs to get fixed soon. My concern is that by the time they mix the matchmaking tool so that introverts like me can play...that everyone else will mock me for not knowing what the hell I'm supposed to be doing. ....Wouldn't be the first time I've been clueless in a multiplayer game! ("So is Jason my friend? It looks like he's brought an axe to help us clear a path through the trees.")

So Aliens: Colonial Marines is on sale for $7.99.....anyone here play it? I'm well aware of its infamy for being one of Gearboxs'  biggest all time fuckups, but the thought of mindlessly shooting Xenomorphs for a few hours kind of appeals to me.

Splinter Cell Conviction for $6.59 may be worth picking up in hopes of being BC one day. Great game.
Agrees with you, checks his game list, ahh I already have it. Contemplates buying it digitally.

Blargh, that alien collection is the only sale I regret passing up in the past year when it was $13 around Halloween.
Now I somehow have no credit anywhere to use on it.
Guess I'll sleep on it and decide in the morning. It's not like the time I decided to wait on the resident evil super bundle... Twice
You know that saying, you gotta spend money to make money.

It is said that the Xbox version is the beta code while PS4 and PC have updated game code. Although it is also said all versions are having network issues.

With EA pass out of the equation, NHL 17, UFC 2, or Alien Isolation? I've read reviews and watched videos for all and they all would be great but only looking for one...which do I choose?

Incredible Telltale drop, too bad I own em all.
Any word if these sales will happen for the W10 versions as well?
Also, I'm dying to get the BioShock Collection but I just can't bite at $30. Waiting patiently for $20 or less. It's getting closer though. Went from $38 to $30 a month.
Amazon is so close to your price point. Might as well do it.

https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B01HIZF7XE/ref=mp_s_a_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1496113645&sr=8-1&pi=AC_SX236_SY340_QL65&keywords=bioshock+collection+xbox+one&dpPl=1&dpID=51wXmCoUQ6L&ref=plSrch

with shipping + tax it comes out to $34+, and I really don't want to add a useless item for a few cents. Eh. Thanks for the heads up but I'll just continue to play the waiting game. Kinda over physical copies of games at this point anyway.

I'd say it depends on your preferences but I'd add NHL 17 is very good and prob the best out of the three. Again it depends on what you like.

Might buy LA Cops from last week's sale last minute. Considering Bridge Constructor Stunts, Minecraft Story Mode, and Game of Thrones. Might also get some of the Win10 Telltale games.

Tempted to get Dark Arcana, but those Artifex Mundi games seem like they've been getting bundled in 2-packs lately where I already own one but not the other negating any savings.

For Achievement Junkies, Coffin Dodgers is a very easy and relatively quick 1000 GS, and it's not entirely hate-yourself-for-playing bad.

Also just bought Dead Rising 3 Super Ultra Arcade Remix Hyper Edition EX + alpha from last week's deals.

TWD New Frontier is either 18€ digital or 20€ physical. Is the physical one of those you can play without the disc after installing? I had heard all Telltale games are like that but my Tales from the Borderlands copy only works with the disc in

Question regarding the Forzas:
Is Motorsport more Sim and Horizon more Arcade-y or are they both Sim just in different ways?
My kid is big into Hot Wheels and NASCAR and since they have HW and NASCAR expansions, I would prefer to get one of those but I dont think I care for a realistic experience.

Thanks!
I'm with everyone else saying FM is more sim and FH is more arcady.

FYI - when I was doing research on each I read somewhere that they are both sim but FH is more forgiving. I guess they didn't want to say FH was arcady.

Ghost Recon Future Soldier is on sale, but the DLCs aren't :/ come on Ubisoft, I've waited for like 4 years

Also picked up Poker Night 2 instantly, I loved it on PC.

I had in mind mighty no. 9 in mind when I wrote my little rant lol, but shovel knight is great

I bit on the walking dead season 3, just finished the michonne spin off. Nothing bad to say about the game besides the length. Very short compared to the other walking dead titles, so pick it up cheap or maybe it'll be GwG soon

Two awful DC movies in a row (didn't even bother with Suicide Squad, but I'm going to go and say I was fine skipping that somehow) tell me I can skip all the DC movies now until the next reboot or whatever.
Say what you want, but:

  • The final battle of BvS was badass.
  • The Enchantress in the first half of Suicide Squad was badass.

Also just bought Dead Rising 3 Super Ultra Arcade Remix Hyper Edition EX + alpha from last week's deals.
Just picked that up as well.

Decided to grab Overwatch GotY Ed, even though my internet was fubared over the weekend, from what I played Friday night and tonight I'm liking it. It was fun hearing people in my TB Elite 800X headset and getting the drop on them. Surround sound ftw.

Usually can't stand TTGs but Guardians is one that I actually want to play. Sucks only 1 ep is out though so I might have to wait until the inevitable complete edition.

Horizon builds off the physics engine that Turn 10 developed for Motorsport. Playground Games though tweaked it to be fun for all and less Sim.

If you want an excellent track racer, FM6 is tops but if you want an excellent open world arcadey racer FH3 is your game. Both excellent imo.

If you had someone to play co-op with and were a huge fan of the series, you probably wouldn't be asking now. The difficulty, horrendous npc ai, weak animations, bland recycled environments, and plethora of bugs combine to create an experience with few redeeming qualities.

I love the series and had some fun during the couple hours I played co-op with my brother. I still felt like I wasted my money, even getting it for $5 or so from gamefly. Maybe if we had had time to co-op through more of the campaign I'd have had a better experience, but playing solo was extremely frustrating. I only played after the big texture and ai upgrade, so it wasn't just launch issues.

You guys that've played through Alien Isolation, I've been watching play videos and everything I've seen leads me to believe almost all of the gameplay consists of hiding, bashing locks, hacking locks, and a tiny bit of shooting synths...is there more to it that the play videos aren't showing?

Oh, and keeping on the DC conversation, I liked the beginning and end of MoS, didn't like SS, and liked the majority of the extended edition of BvS. Not very interested in WW even if she always was my fave character growing up since it's set in a time I don't care about, and have been reading WW origin stories since I was eight years old. Give me a JLA movie with no relation to the New52 and I'll be happy.

I liked it for what it was. I mean, it's not a AAA 360 release, but it isn't without any redeeming qualities. I bought the CE when it was on sale for about the same price a few years back (mostly for the extras) and was surprised the game was decent given it's rep.

Grabbed Kinect Sports Rivals, Powerstar Golf DLC and the DR3 DLC.
This week's not bad, seems like a Tom Clancy themed sale and a Telltale publisher sale. Probably going to be a lighter week for me since stuff is still too highly priced and I already own everything cheap.

I highly recommend grabbing Poker Night 2 for $2. Never been on sale before as far as I can tell and I think it has a decent chance to go backwards-compatible. That'll most likely be my only on-sale purchase this week.

My current Gold subscription ends on June 1. I have two one-month Xbox Live codes that I'd like to use to renew over the next two months since things are kind of tight for me financially right now. Is it better to let the current Gold membership lapse and then redeem one of the codes, or will the code stack so that there is no interruption in my current Gold membership?

Once you get the flamethrower you don't need to hide nearly as much. If you like the Alien franchise I'd recommend picking it up, but if you aren't a fan you probably won't have interest in all the extra work they put into the game. One of the best parts is going through all the computers and reading the different emails and reports.

The code will stack.

However, there's no penalty for letting it lapse and then re-upping when there is something you want to buy/play. Mind you, Xbox One GWG and online play won't work of course. I personally don't play too much multiplayer so pretty much only use my old codes when there is a major sale or GWG that I want.

Very good week for the XB1 brotherhood...

Not all Kickstarters suck. Banner Saga and Chroma Squad are both excellent, as well as Shovel Knight and I'm sure several others.

And it's kinda crazy to say the DC movies sucked if you haven't seen them and are just repeating what others have said. Maybe form your own opinion?

Soo I got myself some Telltale Games, batman Complete, minecraft Complete and Michone Complte (I bought the Season Pass for the last one on the 360 already...but since the first episode of michonne doesn't seem to be on sale or is made free I bought the complete edition for the one now...if episode 1 will ever be free (or cheap) i might consider buying it again just to use the season pass I bought when I thought I never would get an Xbone =P

Have any TellTale Games titles gone BC before?

Soooo, yay or nay on Blackwood Crossing at $10,39? I've read that is pretty good and a tad short (2 and a half hours to get everything according to HowLongToBeat) but something tells me it will go lower maybe in a few months.

In regards to DC, I'm going to watch WW on IMAX on Saturday. I'll take the BvS extended cut over most (but not all) entries in the MCU. The whole "everything must be lighthearted, funny and colorful" approach (add to that generic stories, paper-thin plots, forgettable villains and the overall lack of any sense of threat) has put me off the MCU lately.

The first Captain America and both Thor movies bored me to death. Iron Man 3 was feces. Ant-Man was the usual Paul Rudd driven (action) comedy that I didn't care for. Age of Alan Shore, I mean Ultron was a bloated mess that was given a pass by critics simply for being an Avengers film and Avengers 2.5: Civil War was nowhere the masterpiece some people claim it is. I mean, the Avengers fighting each other was......a pillow fight. But hey, we all love airport destruction porn.

Last but not last, hopefully GR Future Soldier goes BC soon.

See below.

Blackwood Crossing is very good. Very short, but touching story. If you've experienced loss recently, this will hit you hard.

Friday the 13th is suh good.
Had an epic standoff with 5 counselors trying to start the boat while Jason was in the water. He dragged all of us into the water at least once. 1 was drowned, 2 ran and hid in some cabin and 2 of us managed to drive away and dodge him at the last second in the water.
Server problems be damned. This game is the best.
