Please note:

  • You cannot currently buy any Xbox 360 content on xbox.com using your account balance, you can only use an active credit card or PayPal. To use your balance, you must make purchases on your console.  Unfortunately, even "purchasing" free content through the web site like trials requires an alternative method of payment tied to your account, though adding an empty MasterCard / Visa gift card that is registered for online purchases will work.  Xbox One games can be purchased on the web site with your account balance.
  • Some sales are intended for Gold subscribers only, as noted within each section.
On Xbox One, Gold trials of any length work for sales and Games with Gold.  You must be an active Gold subscriber (paid or trial) to play Games with Gold purchases.
  • On Xbox 360, you must have at least a 1 month Gold subscription for sales and Games with Gold.  Neither 48 hour trials, 14 day trials nor free weekends qualify.

[*]All known sales and information on sales should make their way into the OP. Major Nelson usually updates his blog with new sales information every Tuesday.
[*]ALL OFFERS ARE SUBJECT TO CHANGE! No information within this thread can or should be construed as accurate (or still valid), therefore ...

You can purchase an ethernet adapter for the Wii/Wii U. That's what I did for the Wii U when I was having strange wifi issues after I moved the Wii U to a different location in the house. I read on Nintendo's troubleshooting page that the Wii U should be within 5 feet of your wireless router which I think is a silly requirement. The ethernet adapter can be purchased directly from Nintendo:

Thanks, but I'm aware that those exist. I just don't think I should have to buy something that every other modern gaming device that isn't a handheld, a phone or a tablet already has as a standard feature. Hell, my Shield TV and my Ouya have places to plug in an Ethernet cable, and they're both laughing stocks in the gaming world. I'm sorry. I know you were just trying to help.

I understand where you are coming from. Trust me I was not happy I had to buy an add on to use wired networking on the Wii U. To me though it was worth the money not to have to deal with the flaky wifi on the Wii U. Interestingly I never had the same wifi connection problems with the Wii. Still works like a champ. I guess Nintendo put a decent wifi antenna in the Wii.

Received an email for an offer where I'll get 6,000 points if I buy $60 in content this month.  They must really want me to buy those Rockstar games.

 Yeah, not happening.

Wondering if the $6 back on $60 this month will stack with the pre-order 3 games and get $15 back. Have Ghost Recon gold edition pre-ordered digitally so will be nice if I can double dip

I'd get $6 back from this promo, $5 back as 1/3 of the games, $10 back from my rewards tier, and I spent $80 on the $100 of credit to get the game

You could just rent it from Redbox if you're only interested in the SP. The campaign is pretty short.
Or you know pick up the full owned game to have and to support the developer (who let's face it got fucked by not only Activision but also EA, for how EA competed with them with putting their other IP's out right next to Respawn's game).

I purchased Titanfall 2. I am not big on renting games.  Actually I have not rented a game since SNES games were for rent at video rental stores back in the day.

same here

5 vhs tapes for 5 bucks for 5 days

I believe it was 3 snes/genesis games for 5 bucks for 5 days

probably spent a thousand bucks over the years renting donkey kong snes games

nowadays you can turn some shitty laptop into a classic gaming megamachine with thousands of games but in those days you had to hustle to get it on like donkey kong

Did anyone finish Layers of Fear? I just finished it, but towards the end my right analog was going crazy. If I paused the game the stick drift would return to normal. Just wondering if it's a bug or not because I didn't see a answer on google. I'm trying out Borderlands and a few others games and I got 0 stick drift. I also tried a second controller and it did the same thing in Layers of Fear. This was near the end of the game.

Game was alright, not amazing but not horrible either. Interesting take on the horror genre.

Also the game is REALLY short. Like 4-5 hours long, maybe even shorter if you cheat with the puzzles.
Yeah I noticed that too, at that part. Also, like a slight back and forth when staring at things in front of you throughout the game, although.....
it might be because the main character was a drunk. You are the artist guy, right?

they have good deals on cashing in on rewards semi regularly? I got a stock pile again after cashing in on that 1k/10$ deal

just wondering if that sort of thing is a fluke or happens a few times a year?

Re: Redbox vs purchasing, in a perfect world I'd love to support every dev/publisher that puts out great games, but I'm not made of money. I don't strictly base a game's worth on hours per dollar, but I'm more likely to buy a game which takes hours and hours to beat than I am one I can beat in 2-3 sittings. Especially in a crowded game market.

I've never had a problem with the wifi either, and my Wii U has always been a good distance away from my router. Currently it's a whole story apart and it works fine.

Mentioned it in the BB thread, but for anyone looking to get it, the preorder price for Bulletstorm: Full Clip Edition is $39.99 after GCU right now. If you have any RZ certs or spare credit to put towards it, now would be a good time to get it at a reasonable price on day one.

Think I'll wait for $20 or less. Was surprised the game even got a remaster. Let alone a full priced one (though I wonder if the new $49.99 price is now MSRP due to low preorders).

That show is just amazing. So stoked watching it. Can't wait for episode 5

Thanks. Tossed it a pre-order for the $40 and used a $15 RZ to make it $25. I'm good with that for the price. Unless it's a complete shitshow, which we'll know at time of release.

Amazon dropped the price to $49.99, though they're still having the Prime discount to be off of the original $59.99 price, so it's $47.99 for Prime subscribers at the moment, not $39.99 as it should be.

But Amazon has a bonus $8 credit that gets deducted when you check out, making it 39.99 also:

Pre-order Bonus Offer: Save $8 when you pre-order Bulletstorm: Full Clip Edition and get Duke Nukem’s Bulletstorm Tour content free. Code will be packed in game.

Sorry, missed that when I tossed into my cart to check out. There's a $2 Prime savings on the $41.99 price, so yes, it's $39.99 (+ tax) on checkout.

Well yeah I guess you can't beat that. I had downloaded it with EA Access and played some, was bummed I couldn't bring over my PvZ 1 characters and then realized I'm basically renting it. Sold!
I did the same, since it made no sense to do the upgrade for $10 and lose the game with no longer having EA Access.

I feel like someone had suggested I just get EA Access instead of buying the game...

Every time the Battlefield 4 and Hardline are $5, I think "that's a lot of game for $10"... Then I look at my backlog and think "seriously, dude?" CAG problems...

I think there needs to be a bot created to auto reply to anyone considering buying an EA game that's in the Vault.
I mean - I sub to EA Access a couple of months a year when I get a Madden jones, but there just isn't enough in there to justify me paying $30 a year.

For something that you're just going to pick up and play occasionally, I don't see an issue with $10 for a Deluve Edition.

When did you start playing this, as the transfer of characters from the first game to the second ended on Feb 28.

In case anyone is on the fence, TurnOn is a pretty good game. I bought it after Tandjame recommended it and said it was a chill game. His description could not be more spot on. For the most part it's an exploration platformer with some very relaxing music. I played about half of it now and plan to finish it. Also easy achievements

Importing of characters from the first game ended last month I believe.

I still play the first game. I love it. I'm not used to the second game's multiplayer yet. Seems a bit more fast paced compared the first game. The original characters seem like they don't have much of a chance against the new ones. Should give it another chance.

I really enjoyed the game when it first came out. It's fun shooting and the dialogue is pretty ridiculous, in a crude fun way. For me, it's a <$20 purchase, but I wouldn't mind having it on my gaming shelf again.

Anyone with a high level BL2 character want to boost me. I srsly don't want to play the gunzerker but need to be 25iah to get the achievement. Also the stupid buddy list one?

Is Bulletstorm any good? I'd mostly just get it for the Duke Nukem campaign I think as I've never really heard anything about it. Is there a game it could be compared to?

It's pretty unique. It's a run n gun FPS with a ton of wild weapons. The games main draw is the skill shot system, in which you use your Leash, Kick, the environment, and various weapons to create all sorts of creative, and often hilarious, combo kills. The story is like a way less serious Gears Of War. The main character is likeable for the most part, and has some pretty funny, albeit a little juvenile, dialogue.

Basically if you like shooting shit and killing things in creative ways, you should like it.

It's kinda like a beevis and butthead meets gears of war with Tim the toolman Taylor as the main character. If you think killing people while the main character is talking about ball sweat or making vaginia jokes you should be good.

Bullet storm was one of the games where I was left wanting more. Normally, by the end of a game im bored with it and just going through the motions towards the end.

When the ending popped, I was like awe man it's over?

I had some serious laugh out loud moments with it.

I was on a dessert level. I Came running around a corner and a guy was standing there about to shoot me. I shot him in the balls and he starts causing me and he covered his junk with both hands. I took off running and drop kicked him in the stomach. He went flying through a window. I used my leash and caught him and yanked him back. He comes flying over my head and landed in a cactus. He's screaming bloody murder now. I yank him again and he goes flying into a lake that had power lines down it. He's covered in thorns, holding his balls, cussing me, and getting fryed. He's laying there smoking and then the main character is making jokes about it. Really one of the funniest moments in recent gaming history. Then of course he made a dick joke to go with it.

this is basically what Bulletstorm boils down to, in a nutshell. If this paragraph didn't excite you or make you laugh at the absurdity of it all, then its not for you.

Ah thanks for the info. That sucks, I started playing on the 3rd as I grabbed EA Access on the 1st in anticipation to play Mass Effect: Andromeda on the 16th. Really loved the first when I could play online, yeah I'm having a blast again.

I have a 52 Maya I can help you with (assuming you're talking about Borderlands 2 on the 360/BC). My GT: trickybuz93. Just send a message saying you're from CAG and I'll try to help you next time we're on.

Just a FYI, my mic is kind of iffy, so I may not always be able to talk/hear the whole time.

Any Fallout Shelter players can offer tips on how to survive Deathclaw attacks? Those things are kicking my butt and going through to 4-5 levels down before they're finally dead, usually leaving at least 2-3 dwellers dead and destroying my resources. I have my best two dwellers in the vault room with my best weapons but they still run through the room as if no one's there.

Not xbox but I started Horizon:ZD tonight.  It is pretty cool. I think a little different than what I was expecting which is not bad.  A little slow to start though but I am liking the main character so I guess they did their job.

Firstly: You need weapons. If you haven't been able to go on quests and grab the required loot to defend yourself you'll need to tactically manage your dwellers. Don't be shy to keep your best damage dealing dweller moving along with the Deathclaws. I have no problem now with those but the Radscorpions can still give me a problem sometimes.

Secondly: You need Stimpacks. If you haven't produced a beefy Stimpack production, first, set that as a goal, but yeah you have to use a lot to save people or cycle them out of the room when they get low on health. I think I'm up to about 100+ Stimpack capacity at the moment. I also got enough crafting supplies to finally start on my first theme. Achievement popping in 2 days and counting!

Remember, DCs will attack from left to right, tear a hole in the elevator, sweep from right to left, and continue to move down each level so plan accordingly with your best dwellers in the top levels of your vault. Also have that vault door fully upgraded if you haven't already. GL

I arm the dwellers from the top down. The highest damage weapons should be at the top of the vault. I don't have a ton of dwellers on my top two levels, maybe 18-20, so I usually end up having the deathclaws go through the three rooms of six dwellers before they die and most of the dwellers have weapons that deal 15+ damage. Build the medbay or whatever makes stimpaks and make sure you always have a bit of a stockpile. Make sure you always have some dwellers on quests or exploring the wasteland to get better weapons. My preference is to give each dweller at least 6 stimpaks on a quest or in the wasteland, I've had dwellers survive up to 12 hours od exploring with 6. Hope this helps a little.

I just use lots of stem packs. I have all 130 dwellers with 6 or higher damage guns now but my first three floors all have a 6 person room so I just have them all heavily armed and trained so they are just unloading. Remember, Endurance will help them survive longer and Perception helps them shoot faster so it's not a bad idea to train ppl in both.

I'm at the point now where I'm just hunting blue prints. I have my 9 ppl on quests constantly and 2-3 exploring the wasteland. I give my explorers about 15 stem packs and 8 radaways and they can usually last 24 hours or more. Lately they come back with about 3k in caps and a couple non-junk items. I just have them go til they die and revive and return.

The Bottle and Cappy quest was very useful. After completing that now they randomly visit my vault and if you click on them while they are dancing you either get Caps or Bottles.

Sony: Let's release Horizon a few days before Zelda: Breath of the Wild. It's easily gonna win GOTY.

Nintendo: LMAO
