Sorry for your loss. I have friends who have lost their parents but I'm still blessed enough to have both of mine, and I have no idea how someone deals with a loss like that.

Also, I won't get to watch Takeover or WM33 until Wednesday, so yeah, no spoilers!

It apparently did work for me earlier, because I tried logging in again and it went through. The Phantom Lancer had the "submit entry" button, but when I clicked it, it said "already claimed". The quests were screwy like that earlier, particularly when one of the watch for 30 minute quests was up. The quest tab would refresh each minute to update the counter, which would switch the button back to "submit entry" on a cleared quest, but clicking it again would just pop up the same "already claimed".

I noticed that too - the first time I logged in today, I had 14 minutes logged on a 30 minute quest.
 
Just finished Firewatch.  I liked it but I would say even at $10 it is pushing the cost-benefit margin.  I would say $8 and below would be better.  Great voice acting and the story is fine enough but the game is pretty janky.  Lots of frame-rate issues. Easy 1000 though but some are missable so a guide is needed but it won't ruin the story.

Condolences. Cleaned out one on my side and both of wife's parents side. Some crazy finds...brass knuckles, liquor, money, and the crown jewel of an authentic German Luger.

Xbox related, mine finally updated to the new dash last night while sleeping. Everything seems good.
 
yeah I like the new interface for the One. Getting to my achievements screen is more convenient. I miss just pressing the tapping the big X button on my controller to get directly to the home screen but its not that much of a nuisance.

still playing through Andromeda...just found out the origins of the kett. Shit! The stakes all of a sudden got a lot higher. I really like where the story is going so far. The whole Animationgate thing was blown out of proportion imo, the majority of the game looks perfectly fine.

 
That's like when I see some impressive fighting game video and I'm like "I should play fighting games again, I could totally do that!" when of course I couldn't no matter how many hours I practiced.

 
I ended up happy with my Ryder but I always spend way too much time on character creators, especially when your character will probably transfer to future games. The fact that you then have to make your sibling compounds the problem. I think making a decent male is way harder than female for Andromeda, but the system is trash regardless.

Nothing has topped Destiny's awful creator for me yet though, I think that's going to take a while.

If you're going to do insanity (for the achievement), playing through the side quests and gaining as much XP would've been really helpful. Regardless, when you start again, you do get bonuses for playing the game before (25k of each element, money and you can choose one of the loyalty powers from your squad). Your XP and Paragon/Renegade meter carries over, but it doesn't affect your morality for the playthrough.

Since you played as a renegade, your renegade meter will be filled, but it won't have any significant effect on your dialogue (other than letting you pick the "significant" renegade options much easier), and you can continue to build your paragon meter.

Most of the time, I will be done with the character creation screen in 2-3 minutes. The only game I've spent a good amount of time on is Saints Row 3/4 to make my character resemble a real person and Dragons Dogma to create my pawn (with the help of youtube and reddit).

 
With the new Xbone interface, is there no longer a quick way to get to the menu where you can quit the game you're currently playing? It used to be just Xbox button -> Menu. Now the Xbox button brings up the guide and the game options menu is like three panels over. Loving the new dashboard (the speed!) but I do miss that.

 
Doing the trial initially for Andromeda I just went with the default Scott, as to not waste those 10 hours. I'll have my own character in another playthrough.

Yeah, my father and I had a rough patch over has last few years but I did find some things that reminded me of the good times. I'll hold onto those memories as much as I can.

It is so exhausting both mentally and physically with how much stuff he had and what needs to be done.

Anyways, don't want to drag down the thread. But appreciate the kind words.

Not much of a dent here, though I did complete my primary goal of finishing all the ME3 DLC, as well as my insanity run, before Andromeda was released. A few days later, I was off on a 9-day holiday so no gaming lately. Now that I'm back, I'll keep going with Andromeda and possibly finish up some of the Disney Infinity games I started last month as well. With Spring in the air, it's tempting to fire up some Kinect games and burn a few cals...

There's never enough time in a week to keep up with all I'd like to do. Will never understand those peeps who complain 'I'm bored' after a couple hours alone.

 
Did a bean dive last year in hopes of getting me to clear the backlog.  WELL...I have earned more achievements in games I bought after the dive than on games I did for the dive.  So long live the backlog?

Condolences, man. Lost my dad earlier this year and also had to pull the double duty of mourning while going through possessions, funeral planning etc. No fun. Wasn't super close with my dad over the last few years either, but it's still not an easy experience.
 
The sales better be good to make up for what went down last night in Orlando at the Wrestlemania 33 main event.

We all knew deep down it was going to happen, but we all hoped against hope it wouldn't. Is it really been 26 years and 4 months since Survivor Series 1990? It was so surreal. Damn.

Oh and my condolences to AWP as well for losing his dad last month. I was in the same spot in May of last year when I lost my mom. Not easy, not fun but life goes on.

A free trial for Dishonored 2 launches 4/6. Play through the game's first 3 missions. All progress carries over, should you purchase the game.

 
Rumor floating around now that Scorpio is named Xbox One X, with full official specs coming within the week. Could be worse I guess, at least casuals will know it still plays the same games.

 
My condolences as well, awp. Losing a parent sucks. Lost my dad 3 years ago. We were actually really close - like talked to both parents 3 or 4 times a day close. I'm still not OK, to be honest. Completely sucks. Glad you found some things that remind you of the good times. You'll appreciate those things more as time goes on.

Wow 3 missions is pretty generous. 2 & 3 are pretty good but mission 4 is amazing if anyone decides to buy it after that.

This game had some of the best level design of any game this gen, especially if you're playing stealth or going for certain achievements.

I want to see the 1080 capability, and see it integrated better than PS4 Pro, which has been all over the map. Some games get so many improvements to graphics and/or a higher framerate that I would consider it worth it. But then, for the same money I very well might be able to get a PS4 standard and a Switch, which surely a better use of money to me personally. I could play more Japanese games like we established our thread loves.

I'm don't think I'd even been switching to 4K movies very soon so I think I'd even consider getting a 1080 TV with HDR is I upgraded soon, if the price difference is enough. I very rarely buy Blu-rays, I don't think my internet could handle 4K streaming, and downloading a 4K movie directly eats up a ton of space.

Speaking of Japanese games, apparently Valkyria Revolution is $40 at launch. Not sure if that's a red flag or not.
