About 6 months ago, so not terribly recently, but I'm broke as hell and still play/discuss a lot of 360 games thanks to BC. I'm playing the Halo MCC, though, which at $6 on cdkeys has proven to be quite the value even if I only do the SP campaigns now that the majority of bugs have been patched.

I feel like five has a great multiayer in firefight but I hate how games include BS progression system to include micro transactions now days. I think, for me, the pinnacle of classic multiplayer is halo 3. Nothing to unlock, just jump into death match and kill everyone.

Same boat man I bought a Xbox one the day before MCC cause I was so hyped I was playing the goddamn theme all day came home updated my console so it was ready the next day. My poor heart broke into a million pieces. It wasn't broken for a few weeks either it was broken for a little over a year.

Anyway to your question I love every multiplayer except for Halo 4 and Reach, I despise those MPs. Halo 5 is one of the best in my opinion Halo 2 is probably the only one that beats it. Halo 2 has some unfair advantages though 1 being nostalgia and another being able to essentially revolutionize matchmaking/console multiplayer. When it comes to just raw gameplay I think they are pretty close.

Tldr. Life's too short to hold onto anger.
So when I was 13 me and my brother were heading up to NH to visit my dad for the weekend (divorced parents) and we knock on the door and someone who was definitely not him answered and said he'd moved out recently, nobody's heard anything, no word or trace for like 7 years. When I'm 20 I get a call from my mom to come by and she turns on the news, and there he is in handcuffs (at this point he was in the #1 deadbeat dad in MA). Well turns out he's put in jail about 10 minutes from where in living at the time, so obviously I went to see him. I was pretty angry, and couldn't really deal with him without wanting to kill him. Years past and my older brother basically took care of him to keep him on his feet, but I couldn't really handle having a relationship with him so I would just see him here and there without caring. I could tell he was really trying to make an effort, but I couldn't be around him for long periods. Around 5 years ago when my fiance was pregnant with our first daughter he invited me to take a week long trip to NC with him to do some work. I somehow reluctantly agreed to go with him and it gave us both a chance to get a ton off our chests and actually communicate. I could tell he felt guilty, and it seems like everything he does now is to try and make up for things. After that trip our relationship has been much better. Nothing is forgotten, but has been forgiven, he has tried to be really involved in my daughter's lives and loves being an active grandparent. For years I didn't think I'd care if he died, and a couple years ago he had a heart attack (he's OK) and I was way more a mess about it than I could of expected, and definitely made me aware that I do actually care about him. We get along really well now, and I'm actually headed back down to NC with him this week to help with some work.
 
No spoilers here, but I made myself sit down and watch Takeover Orlando between shifts... totally solid event!  Not a wasted match!

If you want to enjoy the story, read the books. Then it will all make sense why people love it so much.
 
I'm not going to write a mile long Halo post, but I think Halo 4 had a lot of missteps in just about all aspects. Going just off the campaign, it was even more linear than the later Bungie games, with dumb design choices in the gameplay department. I think it was hurt most by how the enemies have much simpler AI, supposedly due to the boost in graphics eating up more processing power. Aside from being more dumb, Prometheans and their weapons are simply less fun. If anyone wants to disagree with this point, I'd like to point you to Halo 5 and the fact that literally all of the Forerunner enemy mechanics aside from Crawlers, and ALL Forerunner weapon functionality was redesigned from the ground up.

Halo 5 makes some strides all around, but having 70% of the game feature Locke instead of John was a huge mistake. I think they were trying to show John as more of a character from a third-person perspective, but they totally botched that. It doesn't help that the only enjoyable characters on Fireteam Osiris were Buck and maybe Vale. Locke and Tanaka are just bland soldiers. Halo 6 desperately needs to focus only on Blue Team for gameplay. Hopefully we find out at E3. Multiplayer-wise 5 is a huge improvment over 4, but the design philosophy is so different now that I can't really think of it as Halo.

As for the story comment above. I think most of the hardcore fans consider the Bungie games to be solid, if somewhat generic adventure in a cool universe. I kept up with all the expanded universe during that era and it really added to the experience. Now it's fairly hit and miss, and 343 hasn't handled bringing in more EU stuff into the games so well, the Didact and his virtually zero explanation in-game for Halo 4 probably being the biggest offender here.

(Major lurker here, but I love this thread and it keeps me entertained and informed, so thank you all.)

My two cents on the Halo discussion: I fell in love with 1 at college, 2 was the first game I ever pre-ordered/got at midnight, bought my H3 edition 360 (which came out a few weeks before the game and didn't include the game haha) solely to play 3, and Reach is how my fiance (friend at the time) started bonding and began a shared love of gaming and each other. I HATED Halo 4 for many reasons, mostly the story (I got big into it and read the books and such), though I did have some fun with it. 5 is a big improvement but WAY too much Locke/Team Osiris. Hoping 6 is good but 343's idea of "story" doesn't leave me with much hope.

On the deals topic, if anyone doesn't have Guacamelee (pretty sure most everyone here has it either from sales or it being free way back), it's definitely worth $3.75, so grab it.

 
I'd buy Deadpool, Heart and Slash, and Toy Odyssey if the discounts were better. Easy pass, though.

I haven't put a lot of time into it, but Mekazoo is a pretty cool Sonic-like game. Check out some videos/reviews.

Yeah man, it's like folks don't get it. That being said, I don't think anyone is purposely spoiling anything, it's just that the things that get talked about on here are extremely popular so it's an afterthought to loosely talk about results. I finished up watching Mania last night at about 2am and and 1.5 episodes away from finishing The Walking Dead. I'm not logging onto Facebook until I'm finished. Concerning Mania, I thought it was a good show overall. I thought the big performers on the roster came through.

Guacamelee actually looks like a solid game from the videos on the site. Looks like I'm in for that one. Hopefully we get some cool 360 deals. Any opinions on this game?

if Terry Gilliam made a video game, it would probably be Black Knight Sword. Highly recommended and fun to play through a second time.

Might get Deadpool this time or Giana Sisters.
