I commented a couple times during the game that no matter who won, neither team deserved it after the way they played tonight. Ugliest game I've seen in a while. Happy for Roy but having a rock fight of a game that the refs make even worse by calling 40+ fouls made it painful to watch, even for a die hard group of college basketball fans like my friend group.

I was thinking about buying the MW bundle and Blizzard Mountain, but I already own the first three (only miss the MW2 DLCs) and don't see them going BC anytime soon, and I wouldn't play the FH3 DLC either right now. Nothing for me this week either, but I'll probably spend the money for a 500 GB X360 HDD as I really want to keep my library on there complete, even if they are BC.

 
I think I have to buy Fantastic Pets for $1.99 on the 360 because (a) I still own a 360 Kinect device and (b) I will finally be able to live out my dream of entering a fantasy pet in a talent show. My fire-breathing unicorn will look fabulous.

Have to go through about 20 random hosts until one finally starts a race. Is this a glitch? Also, is it possible to start your own Co-Op Mode with randoms?

Continuing the Halo 4 odyssey/discussion...

Firefights are good. I like the darker, grittier aesthetic for a change, although I don't know it's necessarily better, just different and not in a bad way. So far, I like the push for character development between Cortana and Chief, but I'm not very far into the game. I always found Chief a little boring but that may be because I never found the story in Halo to be especially intriguing.

My biggest complaint, though, is the sound design / music. The former Bungie composer, Marty something, was really good, and I didn't realize how much I appreciated his music in the games until playing a Halo game without him. In the second level when you're infiltrating the Forerunner facility and activating the generators, there's just some ambient noise that reminds of me of Metroid II but in a bad way (as in, it was brilliant on the GB for the tech limitations, not so great in a modern game).

I had the same complaint almost word for word maybe a month back. Not sure if you can party up to do co-op stuff but if you can feel free to add me and I will help. Funny how I really don't like driving games and never finished one till FH3. Now I have stack of games I should be playing but don't.

Thanks for the tips on Blizzard Mountain haven't started that yet.

Do you belong to a group / club in FH3? From what I could tell from the TA write-ups, you need to belong to one that has other members to initiate an online co-op campaign session where other people can join you.

That was a pain in the ass a few weeks back when one of the weekend challenges involved completing a co-op campaign event. Kept trying different sessions, and the host was nowhere to be found. I assume they were in one of the festivals, but they never came out. After waiting some time without an event starting, I left to try another. Jumped into one and 2 people were chattering away. Then one asked, "who the hell are all these people?" and I got kicked. You start an open online session and are surprised when people jump in? Moron. Finally got into one where the host set up a race, and it was a Goliath. I went with it with the full expectation that the host would kick me just before finishing, but thankfully the race completed.

Started playing Frank Rising (DR 4 DLC), loved the first 20 minutes. Zombie Frank is awesome. Then I read about a game breaking glitch that stops you from going further. Now I have to stop playing until Capcom issues a patch. And I'm sad.

I own gtv 4 with the dlc physically and it's one of the games I eventually want digital

I believe it's one of the games that requires installing the dlc from a 2 disc iirc so would I only need the vanilla version to be able to play the dlc with the game digitally as well?

Do you mean GTA IV? I have the GOTY version with Disc 1 being the main game and Disc 2 being the two expansions. Disc 1 installs GTA IV normally, but Disc 2 installs the two expansions as a separate game and not as DLC for GTA IV. That being said, I own one of the two expansions digitally as well, and that one shows up as DLC for GTA IV

yeah, thanks I don't own any of it digitally I was just deciding what system I wanted the digital for

if all I needed was the vanilla for the 360 to play everything I have on disc I was gonna go that route over the ps3

Yeah that's what I did as well. It's the Audi Quattro, the most expensive of the bunch and did I mention it's the Audi Quattro.

Microsoft has been knocking it outta the park these past few weeks. Scorpio reveal Thursday, Insanely Twisted Shadow Planet going BC, ME Andromeda update....but sales that are poor this week can't always be awesome deals. People will snag some amongst those that were GWG but missed out, so not a total loss.

Hell, even Yooka-Kaylee mixed reviews can't bring me down. I've seen vids and I know its a game that hearkens back to the 90's platformer. I'll take the good with the bad.

There is/was a save bug that I encountered near the end of the game when I played this many years ago and it forced me to start all over. I sold the game right afterwards. There is a way to avoid this bug but I didn't know until it happened and did research. You better look into this before playing... you've been warned.

Metacritic has 16 reviews at 8 or above, I think that's pretty good. A lot of the less positive reviews just complain that it's too much like a 90s platformer and doesn't move the genre forward, while the positive ones seem to appreciate the nostalgia. I'm okay with that.

The bad reviews are "it plays like an n64 game." Haha. Polygon decked it for "outdated mechanics" so you're exactly right. I think reviewers are kinda out of touch with what gamers want and think this will sell extremely well for people of my generation (I am 29). Every friend of mine has this game pre-ordered on some console. I would be a lot of money on it getting a sequel. I am with you tho, I am okay with getting this based on nostalgia and it playing like an N64 game, because that's what I expected when I preorded it.

I'd rather they evaluate the game on whether or not it accomplished its goal. If you don't like fighting games, reviewing one is probably a bad idea, for example. Since its inception, people knew what Y-L was, and it sounds like they made the game they said they would. It's like if Destiny 2 has a lot of loot and multiplayer modes. "Too much like the title that inspired it." Eff off.

One review on Metacritic is a 35/100 because they said it felt too dated. I personally think anything below a 5/10 is reserved for games that have serious technical issues or are broken/unplayable. Medicore does not warrant a 3.5/10.

They're raising exposure for the franchise before surprising us with a Darksiders III announcement at E3.  Lol.
