Microsoft is pretty good about showing games coming out within a year if they don't get canceled. The Sony conference will have loads of 2019 to 2020 that will look exclusive to Playstation, but not be exclusive

This is the thing I am ignoring. I want the Xbox One X in Nov. but it also means a new TV. So I am thinking it is going to cost me around $2000. Glad I have been picking cans up on the side of the road for the last 10 years.

Oh I was referring to the backlog causing the delay, not knocking Microsoft by any means. I'm just so far behind in gaming that the 2011 E3 conference would probably get me amped to tackle to backlog.

 
So the only game I remotely care about is Rare Replay.  I have it and I think it is digital too.  So don't even care at this point if I get the mixpot.   Really the most annoying thing of the day by far was Mixer.  What crap.

Otherwise seemed pretty decent.  Scorpio price, Metro and a few other games I may or may not be interested in.

As someone who still doesn't have an Xbox One (still debating selling my 360 toward buying one) I didn't see a lot that jumped out and said "whoa, gotta get one now!" but there were some definitely cool looking games. I think I was most excited for games like Metro Exodus and Assassin's Creed Origins. Anthem as well if it's multi-platform. Not a bad conference for me, not a great conference either though. Still awesome to see the mass of new games coming soon, whether I'm excited about them or not.

 
Really enjoyed the conference reveal.  Most interested in the new Metro, Anthem, Assassin's Creed, and that sword/pole fighting game I forget the name of.

Old Gen is a terrific surprise as I haven't played any of those.  If they offer digital copies I'm in; achievements would be a terrific bonus too.

Re the XBox One X, I'm thinking HDR may be more important than 4k when it comes to visual gaming upgrades, especially with 1080p super-sampling and higher framerates.  Given the lack of 4k content in general, I'm going to prioritize the new console over a new tv - can limp along in 1080 for a while longer while the industry figures out HDMI standards etc.

does that mean i will have access to them on the One like 360 backwards compatible games, or you need the disc?

That was the one game I was most excited to see. Honestly, we don't know enough to say what kind of game it is yet. Now that it's been revealed, hopefully more info to come soon. I would love for it to be an alternative to Destiny.

That would make sense and it's reasonable to expect, but there's literally no information on how it will work, just that they're doing it.

That doesn't surprise me. Microsoft has said before that emulation of Original Xbox games would be easier to build than the 360. Hope that means it's not a bouncethru method through the 360 emulation. I highly doubt since Phil said games were running and looking better.
