I started this post because i am always confused on what game to get on what system. Other than console exclusives, we hardcore gamers that own more than one new gen system, (I own all), come across this annoying complication. Perfect example: recently i have come across some GS credit and i wanted to reserve resident evil 5. I always want to jump on buying the ps3 version because i feel it is superior to the 360. A past issue i have come across made me think twice. Because of my devotion to the ps3, my Xbox 360 score has suffered, which being a hardcore gamer is very upsetting. I have earned many trophies but that isn't as significant as a 360 Gamer score. no one see's trophies to get the glory. Which left me playing many of these games over again on 360,Trading and buying the alternative console versions.
BEING A CHEAP ASS I WANT TO ONLY BUY THE BEST GAMES ON THE BEST CONSOLE TO GET THE BEST POSSIBLE ENTERTAINMENT AT THE CHEAPEST PRICE & BEST CREDIBILITY (GAMER SCORE VS TROPHIES).

pros vs cons with ps3 vs 360
online play free vs 50$ live
pay exact money for PSN games vs buyin XBL pts for games in set amounts
trophies vs GAMERSCORE
GamerID (permenant) vs GamerTag(changeable for a fee)
FreeThemes (Custom Themes) vs PAying for Themes (selective's are free)

I AM SURE THERE ARE MANY MORE DIFFERENCES IN COMPARISON SO THIS IS WHY I NEED THE CAG FEEDBACK.
POST WHAT GAME SHOULD BE ON WHAT SYSTEM AND WHY IN COMPARISON TO THE OTHER SYSTEM THE GAME IS ALSO AVAILIBLE FOR.

I'd probably go with torifile, but, for the sake of discussion, the only quality game with PS3 as the lead SKU that I can think of so far has been Burnout Paradise. So, for the most part, almost every game probably looks better on the XB360 as result.

As far as Trophies vs. GamerScore, GamerScore always wins. GamerScore has been around from the beginning (i.e. it is included with every game), is easily visible from your Friends list and gamer profiles and the open API means that we can get these fancy auto-updating sig images.

With a few exceptions, I've also found that Xbox360 games look better than PS3 games. Personally, I use my 360 as a portable game station with a mounted LCD screen. So because of that, I never bothered to buy Live for it and thus, I play single-player games on my 360. And because I live in a house with multiple people, I can't always hog the good TV to play PS3 games, so I tend to use the PS3 purely for multiplayer gaming, as it's easy to just hop into a quick game without wanting to get pulled into a story.

You shouldn't ask people to tell you how to use your systems. Figure out your needs and decide for yourself.

I didn't read past your title because your writing is TERRIBLE.

But trophies don't really carry any weight (in the sense that virtual achievements can carry weight) because the system for using them is so obtuse and not every game has them. That's my opinion, anyway. They feel much more tacked on than 360's which have been integrated from the start.

Don't really care for either (trophies or gamerscore) but I prefer trophies because I enjoy the bronze, silver and gold idea better than a pure number.

lol @ paying $50 for a year of live. That's like paying the MSRP ($29.99) for dvds. Also, it doesn't take a lot of effort to remember 400 points = $5. And finally, both PSN and XBL have a plethora of both pay and free themes.

This. And I just paid $30 for a year of live the other day.

I've only paid for 2 of the 5 years I've been on live, and none of those were full retail price..

YEA....? HAHAHAHA:roll: TO BAD THAT NOT WHAT I MEANT DUMMY... I MEANT THAT IF SOME GOES FOR 800 POINTS YOU ARE FORCED TO BUY 1000 OR SOME OTHER RANDOM QUANTITY BECAUSE THEY DON'T LET YOU PAY EXACTLY FOR WHAT YOU WANT ....EITHER YOU OVER SHOOT OR YOUR UNDERSCORE LIKE SOME DL CONTENT FOR A GAME IS 160 YET I HAVE 110 ON MY ACCOUNT NOW I HAVE TO BUY 600 POINTS FOR A 50 POINTS DIFFERENCE ITS A SCAM TO MAKE YOU BUY MORE DUH

Well it's a good then that almost everything on Live (games and dlc) is multiples of 400.

Also, if that's something that bothers you, you have bigger fish to fry than which system is the right one for you.

And why so defensive/angry? No need for name calling.

XOXO,

If you have to choose between the two, Gamerscore wins if only because it's been a required feature for every game since the consoles introduction, whereas developers are seemingly using every excuse they can to not use them.

Seriously, it's 2009, and we still have AAA releases without trophies.

I'm especially pissed at the games like Jeopardy, Soul Calibur IV, and Mega Man 9 who have an "achievements" structure in place and simply refuse to integrate it with Sony's infrastructure.

Yes! finally, someone who understands where i'm coming from; rather than being preoccupied with my grammar.

Eh, Trophies for me... thanks for PJM and PJE, i'm hooked.

Yes, my Xbox points will suffer, but not a biggie, since it's pathetic anyway. I'm ditching the game score (shhhh, don't tell that to my xbox, otherwise it will got red ring on me). Hey, the last time i got my red ring is when i don't play the xbox enough. The new replacement is indifferent, but who knows...

Unfortunate pains... I'll not buy any games w/o trophies! As for the games i have, hopefully, some trophy patches (Uncharted was awesome, trophy patch gave the game a new life).
