• You cannot currently buy any Xbox 360 content on xbox.com using your account balance, you can only use an active credit card or PayPal. To use your balance, you must make purchases on your console. Unfortunately, even "purchasing" free content through the web site like trials requires an alternative method of payment tied to your account, though adding an empty MasterCard / Visa gift card that is registered for online purchases will work. Xbox One games can be purchased on the web site with your account balance.

What is this?

Game prices in the Xbox store have a UTC end date associated with them. These dates generally fall into 5 categories :

1. The item is currently on sale. These are usually the weekly sale items that end Tuesday mornings at 09:59:59 UTC.
2. The item will go on sale, usually within 2-3 weeks. These are usually set to switch at 23:59:59 UTC, like the weekly sale on Monday evenings. Some of the major annual sales (Spring, Summer, Black Friday, Holiday) start on Thursday evening UTC, and some times appear to be random.
3. The item is on Game Pass and is not currently or going to be on sale in the next few weeks. Third party games generally cluster around 09:59:59 UTC on the 1st and 16th of each month. Currently, at least one game is associated with every 1st and 16th through January 2026. The dates then spread out, ending with Human Fall Flat on July 1, 2028.
4. First party and EA Play titles are farther out, starting in 2049, with many in 2799 and 9998.
5. No date - some items do not have a price and so don't have a date. If the item is part of a bundle that has a price, the date from the bundle is used.

The list below uses the dates associated with games on Game Pass and EA Play. Time stamps in red are the regular Game Pass departure times and titles in red are confirmed to be leaving, either from Microsoft's regular news postings or by devs / publishers. Items available through Game Pass Core, currently on sale or not available for purchase are also color coded.

The date associated with a Game Pass game is not a guarantee it will leave on that date, but since March 2023 when the price data started getting analyzed, every game that's left Game Pass had been flagged as leaving on that date. It's given a number of people an extra heads up on the generally 2 week notice Microsoft provides.

Drove to another and was the first one there. 30 minutes later there was enough of us to fulfill the allotment. They didn’t have a sign up showing the allotment like a lot of pictures posted on reddit but one of the guys in line had been told the previous day by the manager. We all kept to who was there first so there was no shady stuff. The additional people left after the manager came out and announced what they had. Some people offered us $100 to take our places. It was real nice when they handed us with paperwork with what number we were. Pretty easy except for waiting outside in the cold. He did say ours were guaranteed to be available on launch and they expected to have more for others. Just glad it’s over with.

I think it's out of stock most of the time. Every once in a while this page switches and lets you add to cart but it goes back to out of stock pretty quickly. I think you have to get lucky and checkout right as they're coming back.

You should. It is really quite easy. If you ever have 2 minutes of down time in the day you do the daily searches real quick. And then do the Game Pass quests when you have time to game. With the cloud gaming you dont even need to be home to get the daily quests, just open up Game Pass app on your phone and start a cloud game and get them both out of the way. The longest part of getting the other quests done is usually the download of the game.

It's a pretty personal call whether MS rewards are worthwhile for you.  I personally refuse to let any kind of earning/achievement/trophy/subcurrency infringe upon my gaming/relax/non-work time of playing whatever I choose.  

Still, for the people who've managed to cover an entire sX, I acknowledge that's nicely done.

Ended up getting 1 Series S and 1 Series X from Bestbuy because the Microsoft website shit the bed trying to checkout, have almost $600 in credit there and had to spend extra funds for the 2 systems.. ugh.

I hope systems come back in stock at the MS store and can pick up an X with my credit and maybe cancel the X from Bestbuy or check with some friends if they were not able to get a preorder in. 

Worst case scenario I can just keep the Bestbuy X and buy one of the memory cards from MS (if they dont fly like the systems)

Was planning to bring one of my One X to Gamestop and get the $200 towards a Series S but not feeling like fighting the Gamestop people for the preorder, if they have some at release I might still do it.

Just got one from Best Buy.  If you have the best buy app on your phone, go to the series x page and just keep hitting the preorder button until it adds to your cart, it took me about 5 minutes.  Once in your cart you are golden and just check out as usual.  Now what to do with the $600 in rewards credit? lol

You really believe the PS5 is gonna be quieter than the PS4 (whatever model)? We haven't seen any real world performance or tests, their track record for cooling and noise is a bad indicator. I will be keeping my ps4 Pro until it demonstrates it is worth the upgrade, was only interested in Miles Morales at release but will get it on PS4 for now.

Best buy will probably cancel orders because of site issues. They did the same with ps5. I'm keeping my amazon order just encase with my Xbox website one. Can never trust these guys with preorders. Ps5 and xbox are gonna be super limited until January imho.

I'm a bit lost. I Finally got to order the All Access Series S through the Microsoft Store site, was approved from Citizens (the credit company they use) put all the info in on the order page, I think I submitted the order, got to a confusing order/summary page (it was confusing because it had a grayed out Submit Order button about halfway down the page, yet also had my shipping info and an actual order number lower down, and an order summary on bottom), but haven't received the email order confirmation from MS yet and it's been about an hour now. Not seeing the order on my MS order info page either.

I skipped also. I am sure I will have tech envy come November though.

We had a window restoration guy come out to our house yesterday and it turns out the 5 windows that were bad are more like most of my windows have some sort of rot in them. We are looking at 10-20k to fix all of them (not all need to be done right away). He even suggested replacing them with vinyl for about the same price but we bought the house partly because we love the wood windows. So anyway it is still looking like $5000-8000 to fix the immediate needs.

This made sitting out easy.

It may be a long winter, though, and a shiny new box may make quarantine when its snowing outside that much better.

Don't worry about that disc backlog. All those games are going to end up on Gamepass anyway once Microsoft finishes buying up every game developer. Plus were you ever really going to play that backlog anyway?

It kind of kills the argument that Microsoft needs to put all Bethesda games on Switch and PS5. Maybe they don’t need to make back the 7.5 billion quickly, maybe they just needed somewhere to invest cash and between Bethesda’s profits plus increase in Gamepass subscribers, that’s more then they could get in return from a financial institution.
