  • You cannot currently buy any Xbox 360 content on xbox.com using your account balance, you can only use an active credit card or PayPal. To use your balance, you must make purchases on your console. Unfortunately, even "purchasing" free content through the web site like trials requires an alternative method of payment tied to your account, though adding an empty MasterCard / Visa gift card that is registered for online purchases will work. Xbox One games can be purchased on the web site with your account balance.
  • Some sales are intended for Gold subscribers only, as noted within each section.
    On Xbox One, Gold trials of any length work for sales and Games with Gold. You must be an active Gold subscriber (paid or trial) to play Games with Gold purchases.
  • On Xbox 360, you must have at least a 1 month Gold subscription for sales and Games with Gold. Neither 48 hour trials, 14 day trials nor free weekends qualify.

What is this?
Game prices in the Xbox store have a UTC end date associated with them. These dates generally fall into 5 categories :
  1. The item is currently on sale. These are usually the weekly sale items that end Tuesday mornings at 09:59:59 UTC.
  2. The item will go on sale, usually within 2-3 weeks. These are usually set to switch at 23:59:59 UTC, like the weekly sale on Monday evenings. Some of the major annual sales (Spring, Summer, Black Friday, Holiday) start on Thursday evening UTC, and some times appear to be random.
  3. The item is on Game Pass and is not currently or going to be on sale in the next few weeks. Third party games generally cluster around 09:59:59 UTC on the 1st and 16th of each month. Currently, at least one game is associated with every 1st and 16th through January 2026. The dates then spread out, ending with Human Fall Flat on July 1, 2028.
  4. First party and EA Play titles are farther out, starting in 2049, with many in 2799 and 9998.
  5. No date - some items do not have a price and so don't have a date. If the item is part of a bundle that has a price, the date from the bundle is used.
The list below uses the dates associated with games on Game Pass and EA Play. Time stamps in red are the regular Game Pass departure times and titles in red are confirmed to be leaving, either from Microsoft's regular news postings or by devs / publishers. Items available through Game Pass Core, currently on sale or not available for purchase are also color coded.

The date associated with a Game Pass game is not a guarantee it will leave on that date, but since March 2023 when the price data started getting analyzed, every game that's left Game Pass had been flagged as leaving on that date. It's given a number of people an extra heads up on the generally 2 week notice Microsoft provides.

The Rewards app on console has been acting funny this week, gamertag and point totals aren't displaying at the top, neither are the headers for the two main sections. Points are still redeeming though.

Also this sale is bad. Really, really bad. Same shit, same prices. It's bad.

Agreed. I'm sitting on quite a bit of MS credit and can't find anything. I've either already purchased it from a previous sale or it'll be coming to Gams Pass anyway

On another note, can anyone recommend Shredders? Thinking of giving that one a try

Same. Game Pass just means my gaming budget can be spent on Switch games.

 
The base version of Immortals Fenyx Rising is $15 in the sale, but Newegg has a digital code for the Gold version for $22.49 which is kind of tempting.  Lowest it's ever gone in the regular store is $25.

The DLC is terrible. 2 of them are just puzzle fests, and one is a completely different type of game (overhead, kind of hack & slash but not). I liked the base game a lot, but I was really pissed that I spent the money of season pass.
 
Anyone have thoughts on this FF Origin debacle on Series S?  Trending on Twitter now, and unfortunately not a good look for Xbox.  This feels like poor development though and not an issue with the system

Don't get your opinions from gaming replies and comments on Twitter. Also things that are trending are personalized because I ain't seeing shit.

As for FF Origin, the fact that even on PC it had problems and to mitigate the unnecessary uncompressed character models that people had to do things like delete hair shows this is more a Team Ninja doing a garbage job pushing the game out.

It's obvious that the Xbox systems (besides maybe the Series X) were an afterthought during development because of the usual reasons. That combined with less experience with Xbox consoles since the 360 (the Nioh series has been PS/PC only, only DoA5&6 and the Gaiden remasters have come out on Xbox) and generally poor programming across the board have resulted in the Series S' particularly dismal state.

Is anyone aware of any legitimate sites that buy or trade Xbox digital games? I know ebay can be very iffy with digital items. I posted on here already, but the trading section is often very slow with visibility. I currently have a digital code for Elden Ring that is no use to me. Would be willing to give someone a great deal if they are looking for the game.

I don’t know how it’s been staying in stock at Walmart so much lately when other stores still don’t seem to have it. But I’m glad it is. My buddy tells me last night that he’s finally in the market for one. I pulled up WM on my phone and told him it was in stock. He insta-bought and should get it by the 13th. I’m so happy for him. He’s been gaming on an og vcr Xbox this whole time

Felt weird to ditch my One X after getting the Series X but with backwards compatibility on games and controllers, couldn't see the need. Helped that GameStop gave me $300 for it.

The Microsoft Store has a cheaper bundle available now. It's just the console + 3 months of Ultimate at $45. Better than the forced game + controller from before.

When I got mine it said "Signature needed" OnTrac just left it on my porch and never asked for signature and this is after they changed the delivery date a few times. The console itself came boxed and padded, but yeah they still use OnTrac where available and OnTrac is still garbage and I got mine mid January or so this year.

i tried looking up my order it does not say how it was ship and it was a preorder buy, am not sure who drop it off i know i had no issues and got it nov 10, think day one of release. it can be location based how good their service is, i live in Nevada and order other thing from them also for my mother no issues but can't speak for everywhere else.

This. Even if you like the base game (which is great) I would recommend avoiding the DLC.

Mine was just sent through one of the big companies like FedEx or UPS. I don't even remember having to sign though I might have. It was during WFH so no issues.

Packed fine, no complaints.

Mine was preordered from Walmart and delivered release day. It must have been fedex or ups, came well packed with no damage to the system box. I don't remember signing for it but during lock down so I know I was working right by the front door. It didn't come from a store, seemed like a drop ship deal based on tracking info and outer packaging.

the fedex guy left a note that it needed a signature. i am assuming a diff driver came the next day and just left the xbox at the door lol

Thanks for posting this. I've been curious about playing the DLC at some point, but if it's as bad as you say... good to know I can save some money.

I've heard the same and it has put me off buying it, even at 95% off... Has anyone here played it and found its problems have been patched?

The Metro Saga Bundle is 75% off, a new historical low, and may be the only thing I'll buy from this sale.

First dlc is trials but has a little of continuing main story. I enjoyed the dlc :(

I’m considering the Metro bundle. I enjoy shooters but I’m not into horror survival games. How much horror/survival is in it compared to shooters? I’ve heard it’s great but I don’t want to be tensed up the whole time like I’m playing Resident Evil.

I'd consider them more of a linear Fallout kind of game. They each have a dark spider level, but they tip over when you flash them or you can sprint past them.

I didn't find it to be very horror/survival. More of a FPS to me then those other genres. First time I played the first game I got frustrated with it and quit. Picked it back up years later and really enjoyed it. The first two I think are innovate or new. The 3rd one was still fun but I liked the first two better.

Might be a bit too real life like now though. I actually thought of these games
when it was reported people were hiding out in Subways in Ukraine.

The most annoying thing to me was the need for rebreathers or filters in some of the missions in the first game. I kept running out of air and dying at one spot.

Yeah, I'm sure the PC version is much more polished and playing with a mouse and keyboard would be a smoother experience but I play almost exclusively on consoles.

That may or may not have to do with an unhealthy interest in achievements...

Someone on here played it a few weeks ago and I think only problem they had on the Series X was it crashing, but that's it. On the One I think is a huge mess but "should" be okay on the Series consoles from my understanding.
 
Wasn't really anything amazingfor me in the sale, some odd things that have been in my wish list forever like Tempest 4000 and a I did see they have a couple of those Atari "Recharged" games Asteroids and Breakout for a couple bucks off. Don't have those two yet but I've enjoyed the Centipede and Black Widow ones so those are a maybe. Definitely getting Yakuza Kiwame 2 for the $5. Thought I already bought that one when it was $10 after it left GamePass.

Thanks for the feedback. I totally forgot about the rebreathers. I only played them a bit while they were on GP. It’s a great price for three games. I’m gonna consider getting them.
 
In a case of extreme regional pricing differences, GameFlip has Weird West for 75 cents.  At that price I'll put it in my backlog and shift my focus to other Game Pass offerings.

I forgot that it is usually around these big sales that Microsoft randomly sends out $5-10 gift cards via Xbox chat. Normally I would just get a notification from the Xbox mobile app that I received a chat message and I would know that was it (because I rarely ever get chat messages LMAO). Last year I got $10 around this time and spent it on Hitman 2 Gold for $15 almost 3 months later.

It crashed my Series X first time I loaded it up and a couple times within the weeks I was playing it. There was this part where I sent my soldier to attack and it crashes whenever the attack happens, so I switched up my tactics and it didn’t crash. Besides these hiccups, probably only like 5 times for me, the game is great. I played on Easy, saved before missions and played with the Chosen DLC first (read it made things better gameplay wise), I’ll play the original next. I tried turn based games on GamePass before but it didn’t hook me like Xcom 2 did. Looking forward for their Marvel game now.
 
Anyone who owns Samurai Shodown or Nickelodeon Brawl: Both those games are Series X enhanced but do they need to be installed on the internal drive? Will they play from an external drive?
