  • You cannot currently buy any Xbox 360 content on xbox.com using your account balance, you can only use an active credit card or PayPal. To use your balance, you must make purchases on your console. Unfortunately, even "purchasing" free content through the web site like trials requires an alternative method of payment tied to your account, though adding an empty MasterCard / Visa gift card that is registered for online purchases will work. Xbox One games can be purchased on the web site with your account balance.
  • Some sales are intended for Gold subscribers only, as noted within each section.
    On Xbox One, Gold trials of any length work for sales and Games with Gold. You must be an active Gold subscriber (paid or trial) to play Games with Gold purchases.
  • On Xbox 360, you must have at least a 1 month Gold subscription for sales and Games with Gold. Neither 48 hour trials, 14 day trials nor free weekends qualify.

What is this?
Game prices in the Xbox store have a UTC end date associated with them. These dates generally fall into 5 categories :
  1. The item is currently on sale. These are usually the weekly sale items that end Tuesday mornings at 09:59:59 UTC.
  2. The item will go on sale, usually within 2-3 weeks. These are usually set to switch at 23:59:59 UTC, like the weekly sale on Monday evenings. Some of the major annual sales (Spring, Summer, Black Friday, Holiday) start on Thursday evening UTC, and some times appear to be random.
  3. The item is on Game Pass and is not currently or going to be on sale in the next few weeks. Third party games generally cluster around 09:59:59 UTC on the 1st and 16th of each month. Currently, at least one game is associated with every 1st and 16th through January 2026. The dates then spread out, ending with Human Fall Flat on July 1, 2028.
  4. First party and EA Play titles are farther out, starting in 2049, with many in 2799 and 9998.
  5. No date - some items do not have a price and so don't have a date. If the item is part of a bundle that has a price, the date from the bundle is used.
The list below uses the dates associated with games on Game Pass and EA Play. Time stamps in red are the regular Game Pass departure times and titles in red are confirmed to be leaving, either from Microsoft's regular news postings or by devs / publishers. Items available through Game Pass Core, currently on sale or not available for purchase are also color coded.

The date associated with a Game Pass game is not a guarantee it will leave on that date, but since March 2023 when the price data started getting analyzed, every game that's left Game Pass had been flagged as leaving on that date. It's given a number of people an extra heads up on the generally 2 week notice Microsoft provides.

I was way lost and overwhelmed by learning curve (probably since I never played the first one), but the space combat and exploration was so satisfying I kept coming back. It helps I feel like I can pick it up and play for small amounts of time when I have it. It's my Starfield light since I doubt I will dive into something that vast anytime soon.
 
Now that I've had time to research more about NG+ for Starfield, I've finished the campaign and am currently using the Structural Component exp grind to speed level until I have all the skills I want for my next save. For anyone who wants in on that all it requires is finding a planet with Iron and Aluminum within the same outpost, like Andraphon. Then just get some harvesters down, some containers, and then spam build the part for 99 exp per stack. When you run out, sit on a bench and wait for how ever many hours it takes for your containers to fill (for me it's about 7 local hours to amass 2k of each). Way better than any exp grind out there so far.

Also, I found a ship build last night that allows you to take on any fleet or space mission by just using the Mantis' ship as a base, so basically from the start of the game and only requirement is level 12 for an upgraded generator (and maybe 40k credits or so for the upgrades, which you should have by 12). Tested it myself and was able to delete the Crimson Fleet first try. You can take on the entire UC armada with this build lol, it's bonkers easy. Guy also covers how to convert your starter ship into a complete mule for hauling resources whenever you need to get an outpost going. Basically leaves you only needing 2 ships for the rest of the game, right from the start.

So I've rolled credits and gotten the True Ending in Seas of Stars. :bouncy: The only thing I have left to do is to go trough NG+ to kill 10 bosses for the last achievement.

It's been awhile since I played Chained Echoes but to me it's still a 10/10 Masterpiece. I would rate Sea of Stars about 9/10. Lots of people prefer SOS over CE so which one you prefer is up to you. What Sea of Stars has going for it is that it's one of those rare games that just brings you so much joy while you're playing it. It also has a lot of positive hype and has a good chance of being nominated for GOTY.

Starfield is only controversial because it’s an Xbox exclusive. And haters gonna hate. More people would probably be saying how good it was if it wasn’t exclusive. And it is good.

I've only played Starfield for about three to four hours and I've enjoyed what I've played so far. The combat is fun, I like the characters I met so far and it looks great but I've only been to three planets. I'm sure there is much more to see and experience the deeper in you explore.

My main complaints are encumbrance and the game is very menu heavy.

I've starting to pick up less things and just dropping stuff all over the place lol. Sarah has been complaining saying, "Are you sure you don't need that."  I was able to "steal" the space suit from the basement lodge which has been helpful since I fought some level 10 and 12 enemies and I'm only level 5. None of the suits I have found so far are as good as that one.

Dont understand the hate, either have really enjoyed Starfield on GamePass, the gun fights are good, lock picking is great, exploration is good, yes a little buggy, but with new games that is bound to happen and I didnt have to pay $70 to play, free on Day one.

I think it's awesome it was a day 1 Game Pass release. I'm more of a Skyrim guy. Having said that when I started Starfield I gave it about a 5/10. Now after 12hrs I'm more of a 7/10.

I was expecting more stuff to do in space. Space content is low (so far). Also, there seems to be a lot of zones/transitions(on planet and between planet /space) , which makes it seems smaller, in my opinion. There are also some questionable UI decisions based on too many clicks to do things I should be able to do more quickly based on how frequently I do certain things. But that last point is pretty nitpicky.

I'm also not sold on the NG+ (based 'rumors' I've been hearing, but I'm trying to avoid spoilers so I'll cross that bridge when I get to it) approach they are taking.

There is still a lot to do, I find it interesting and entertaining. I enjoy exploring and (some) crafting. The combat seems fun to me. So I'm gonna keep going to at least finish the main quest line. I would recommend it to others who like Bethesda games, even if you don't like Fallout (I don't), you may like this

It was my most anticipated game coming into this year and after almost 20 hours now I'd probably rate it a 7 or 7.5 if I had to put a score on it. It's a very good game, but it is too ambitious for its own good. I feel like the space travel and ship fights are really undercooked and don't add any substance to the game. I'm having the most fun when I'm exploring the planets, looting and getting into fights. The gunplay is surprisingly good.

 
Not so much a reply to Walter or other users, but to reviews in general: The lower scores based on what people expected is kinda silly IMO.  The scale of the galaxy they built is just way too big to fly around in any reasonable amount of time.  It ended up not being like some other games and that's OK.  I think the of the ship as more of a base/home that goes around with you than a reason to stay in space.  The stops for random ships hailing you or battles are just fun extras between planets.  I don't know what else they could do to make it feel more fleshed out and be fun or not take 5 forevers.  Expectations were high for some people in some areas and we didn't get many previews outside the showcase, but I think people are being too harsh on the lack of space exploration being a flaw instead of something they wanted.

It's pretty similar to past Bethesda games with the constant loading, but new consoles make it less of an issue I think.  The 1000 planets I think it just them having something "real" floating in space and not really an expectation that there is 1000 planets worth of quests that take several hours.  The planets I have been on are all quest related so far and there has been enough on them to keep me around for a bit and not really bothered by loading.  It can be a bit tedious when getting quests and going to a new planet, but it's little time compared to the rest of the game.

I've had fun following doing some store and a few faction quests so far.  I finished the UC Vanguard storyline and have maybe 3 artifacts in the main story.  It's an easy 9/10 for me.  Some menu stuff is clunky, but isn't bad enough to hinder my enjoyment of the game.

I wasn’t even talking about the 7s being a “conspiracy”. I was talking about the hate the game has been getting on Twitter/X. It’s toxic. Who cares about a few 7s scores. The game has an 88 average from critics but people are acting like it’s trash.

If you go on X, there’s plenty of people out to get Starfield and it really is mostly fanboys who haven’t played a second of the game. But it’s an Xbox exclusive. How dare a good game be on Xbox. Xbox has no games. Xbox has no good games. Yada yada yada.

It scored just as well as Final Fantasy 16. And I enjoyed that game as well. I’m just a nerd who likes good games.

Nearly complete with The Mummy Demastered. At 36 of 37 achievements, just missing the one for a deathless run. Solid Metroidvania.

The bosses are a bit spongy, but fairly predictable. The 4th boss might've been less spongy if I had gone down one path for an upgrade that boosts the damage you deal.

When you die, the game saves and puts a clone of you near where you died. You respawn without most of your weapons and upgrades, so you have to get back to that clone and kill it to regain your stuff. I died about a dozen times, with about half of them against bosses. One death was because I ventured too far into a tough area, with the other deaths failed attempts to get back to the clone for my upgrades. When that happens, another clone spawns, which just drops health when you kill it.

The game will let you copy your save into another slot, I'd recommend doing that frequently when attempting a deathless run.

A lot of the upgrades are in a room with an ammo cache that if you return there will refill all your weapons. Aside from picking up a health upgrade, there's no way to instantly refill your health, so you'll occasionally spend some time in an area farming things for health drops. Many save rooms will have some objects you can shoot, so exiting and reentering will give you a chance to slowly restore health.

On my initial run, I had cleared most of the map, with one square I wasn't sure about how to get into. I had saved before the final boss at just over 7 hours, which included a run back through the map to find areas I couldn't get to initially. Found all the weapons, all upgrades except one health upgrade (tied to the aforementioned untouched part of the map) and around 43 of 50 relics that are just there to be collected. Final boss wasn't too bad, a post boss escape sequence adds to the map percentage, so I finished with 99% of the map.

Used some guides to find my way into that untouched part of the map (required an old Super Metroid technique that I don't think was made clear by the related upgrade), and the rest of the relics, which included another room I hadn't found.

Highly recommend giving it a playthrough.

I'll just say for anyone on the fence with Starfield, try smuggling some contraband and follow the rabbit hole from the consequences. It could be a full game all on its own.

 
Starfield is probably best played like the other recent (the last 20 years) Bethesda games. Get a quest, and along the way you'll probably run into something that will distract you for a few minutes to a few hours. Rinse. Repeat.

I've been playing as a benevolent rule follower. I got my first taste of joining the Crimson Fleet, and I told Sarah (my wife) she needs to stay home. I might do some shit and I can't have her knowing that. I get to Mars, and immediately I am stealing everything that's not tied down. I stole from the Trade Federation's secret back room, and then sold their shit right back to them. I'm starting down a bad path, and what's next? A Dark Brotherhood membership? A cannibalism perk? Who knows?

Also, any plush toy you can find, you are morally obligated to get them and bring them to Cora.

Agreed with things to do in space, but that worked to my benefit since I hate piloting and dogfighting. The video I linked earlier saved it for me since I can just outrun any ship/fleet and kill them from afar and there's nothing they can do lol.

 
Strange thing happened with downloading the PS4 version of Rocket League on PS5. I went to download it for get the 50 points for the monthly mission and the store said it's only 1.46 GB. Well, started downloading and it's actually almost 30GB. Does this also happen with Xbox? That is very misleading. Imagine buying a game(Rocket League is free I know) that says it's only 1GB and after you buy it, you see it's actually 30GB? Is that considered false advertisement? Shouldn't every game GB be accurate when you go to buy it? I know many people have limited space left so a 29GB difference is huge. Is it just not that big of a deal to people? I had the extra space on my SSD but I was hoping it was just going to be a quick download but nope.

I just assume that every new game that i get has to replace an old one. It's been like that for 4 years now.

It scored just as well as Final Fantasy 16. And I enjoyed that game as well. I’m just a nerd who likes good games.

I been enjoying starfield I love it. sure it’s not the next elderscrolls or fallout but it’s really good.

we won't know how good starfield really is till 10 year from now when mods, dlc, remaster are all said and done, for what it is? it flawed but worth your time, if it never get a update ? eh, it still stands as good but bit shallow yes it has a lot side content the factions are good and good end reward. guess like all things in life if you enjoy it, you won't see as many flaws, if you hate it? you nitpick everything and be justified  to a point as it be your opinion .

A example is a old series i loved is tecmo deception ps1 and the games after, they can be clunky but i love the story in first one a lot, even  went out my way to find all the different ending and think it was part 2 that had a ending that freak me out. minor spoiler, the series is about killing but you can try defy it to be good and only kill what you must but in part 2 one the ending if you go out your way to be evil as possible, you get control by a god who use you as a puppet and say your now his tool to keep killing. i got that ending in the middle of the night in a dark room and they used a first person angle, so it was like it was talking to you from the screen, freak me out as I was " just playing " not really wanting to be evil.

 
Has anyone played the Xbox Series X version of Yonder: The Cloud Catcher Chronicles?

There is an Xbox One version that is separate from the Series X version.  The reviews on the Xbox store suggest that the Series X version is a broken game compared to the Xbox One version, but I honestly can't tell if this is just sour grapes because the developers didn't make the Series X upgrade free.

But I'll buy the Xbox One version if it plays better than the Series X version since they're the same price ($5.99 this week).  Any help would be greatly appreciated.

 
Seems to be a common problem with indie games from what I've seen combing through the sales every week. Tons of games with game breaking bugs listed in the reviews and the devs response is to just make it cheaper next time. As if a $6 broken game is somehow more okay than a $15 broken game.  :whistle2:k

I had 5 years of basic PS+, added 2 more years before the price increase to make it 7, and then did the upgrade to Premium. The upgrade was capped at $150
