Xbox One - General Discussion Thread

No, you fight Kratos as a boss.
I watched a video on ign, where you get Kratos armor and your attacks change to be more like his. When I first commented on it, I had only read the video description. By the description, it seemed like you actually got to play as him.

That first video is new though, is that what you mean?[/quote]
Yup, I'm talking about the new video. It's been posting on the Xbox One dashboard as of late.

The devs' post about it suggests it is:

"Needless to say, the encounter with the Battletoads will be a blast"

Also, notice the Boss meter in the top right part of the trailer that fills up once the Battletoads show up. It's just a boss fight.

I'd hope that MS is more committed to a Battletoads Reboot than they were with Phantom Dust.
Yeah it's definitely just a boss fight, but a glorious one none the less! I feel like Battletoads is long over due for a comeback and I think the toads could be a valuable asset to the Xbox brand, they really are the perfect mascots for the system. They are green, have a bit of an edge, and many gamers have fond memories of the older games despite dying over and over again. I hope Rare retains what made the old games great and they don't screw with the formula too much.

Went to family in civilization again so downloaded a bunch of stuff onto my box. Liked how when I got back and played through Marvel Lego Superheros and got stuck I was able to snap IE/the guide while playing. I love that feature.

I streamed How to Survive: Storm Warning Edition last night and it was hella fun. Not overly difficult like I remembered it.

Yeah I think they just want a 4 player co-op game/multiplayer juggernaut that is GoW - aside from what should be butter smooth gaming with Xbox One's Azure servers running the show..

Maybe it has something to do with the limited edition halo Xbox one console.
Seems super odd to promote a limited edition console 6 months before release. That's asking someone on the fence to go ahead and wait longer which isn't smart when you have stiff competition. Then again they did informally announce it so who knows..?

Who knows. Remember when they give everyone like a month or 2 notice last year that the Xbox One was going down to $350 for the holidays?

I mean, im already seeing Gamestop commercials about pre-ordering Halo 5 and its months away. They really don't have much for exclusives till Halo 5 so seems like they are really trying to hype it up as much as they can.

It probably doesn't help they don't have the marketing for the next big 3rd party game coming out with Batman so not much for them to promote atm.

They have Witcher 3 which is coming out in a couple weeks. Can't wait since i've never played a Witcher game before and the gameplay I've seen so far looks fantastic.

I forgot about Fable. When is that even suppose to be out?
I think it's still slated as a Fall release, but I am pretty sure nothing is concrete about that date at all. It'll probably get an official release date at E3 in June, but my guess would be sometime in the first quarter of 2016.

Resident Evil Revelations 2 recently got an update that adds online co-op to Raid Mode, plus a few new costumes. That inspired me to specifically review Raid Mode, which is quite addicting and the best part of the game IMO. Since you get Raid Mode with the first episode, which is currently on sale for $3, it's a must-buy IMO. Please check out the review and video:

Hows State of Decay on Xbox One? I almost picked up a physical copy at Best Buy yesterday, but remembered not enjoying the demo on 360, which I didn't spend a ton of time with. I was thinking I'd wait for a price drop or GWG, but it does look interesting.

I haven't played the Year One Edition yet, but I really enjoyed it on 360. It's basically what the walking dead game should have been. I'm not sure what the demo was, but the game does start kinda slow. After you get to the safe house, it opens up a lot more. I'd recommend picking it up and check it out, if you enjoy 3rd person action/RPG/defense games with perma-death.

Edit: just to be clear. I did purchase the Year One Edition and have it downloaded. I beat the original on 360 but it's worth playing again on Xbox One for the DLC add ons.

Nice thanks for the input! I'll probably end up waiting for a sale when I can get if for $20 or less. With it getting a physical release at $30, I feel like it will drop sooner than later.

If you have GCU, it's only $24 at BB. I can definitely recommend it at that price.
Yeah, I almost bought it the other day. I think I may have to make a stop after work and pick it up. Do you know if it comes with a disc or is it just a download code in the box? I assume it has a disc, but these days you never know.

Not 100% certain, since I have the downloadable version. If I had to guess I'd say it's a disc.

Honestly though, the best way to describe State of Decay, "it's what a The Walking Dead game should have been".

Yeah I forgot they implemented cargo space with vehicles, so handy when collecting supplies in State of Decay.

Imported my old 360 save, continued on and yeah also forgot the game has a day night cycle. Pretty advanced for a downloadable title if you ask me, $20 for the core, Breakdown and Lifeline is a no-brainer in my opinion. The extras are pretty cool, SUV, rifle and new survivor were much appreciated.

Also forgot about the reputation system, I mean that's pretty much the main process of this game but I couldn't use my early pick up (since you can still get in on the extras until May 10th) without the required reputation. "I don't want to piss anybody off." Lol, seriously it's gonna happen anyways, no need to tip toe around it.  :shame:

I didn't even realize you could import the save from 360?

Yup you can import a cloud save from the 360, one from each campaign. Achievements related to the story weren't retroactive though. Looks like I'll have to start a new game anyways.

Might be a dumb question, but do you have to complete the main game before you can start Lifeline? Or can I jump right to it?
