Related to digital downloads (somewhat)...

If we played Gears Ultimate Edition by 12/31, we are supposed to get all the older Gears games as digital downloads, right?  When do those show up?  I played Gears once or twice online in December, and I don't remember seeing the games in my queue.  (Granted, I haven't checked in a couple days.)

Yes but they don't show up in your queue. You should receive a message with a code for each game.

It worked on the 360, same with Skyrim. I'd assume it would work via BC too.
I'm not so sure that would work. From what I understand DLC via BC is handled by downloading all of the content with the game. Then it checks your account to see if you purchased it and unlocks it. You don't actually install individual packs. The install disc probably wouldn't even work on Xbox One.

I just googled around and have found conflicting reports. I may run out to GS and pick up a preowned copy to test it out, unless someone else wants to be the guinea pig (It's so damn cold outside)

The only things I can think of would be make sure you are signed in with the same profile that it was bought with, and obviously that it was a digital purchase.

Are your other games showing up?
yep same account. already downloaded installed fable 3 thats on my 360 and a couple other games. i know i owned fable 2 on disc at one point and probably had it installed, but i got it digitally at some point and got rid of the physical copy. ill have to mess around a little with it later. the fact that it says"Xbox One" under it on the 360 makes me think it'll somehow work, but i guess we'll see. ultimately not the biggest problem in the world since it's a cheap game anyways, but still

Anybody got any good cheaper alternatives to the XB1 chat headset? I have a newer controller so I can do the standard 3.5mm jack. The puck that plugs into the controller seems to have gone bad on my original headset I got at launch. Right now I am using the PS4 pack in earbud/mic and it does its job but I hate earbuds. Would like something with one earphone for chat just like the XB1 headset if possible.

Thanks,

Anthony

I have the pack-in that came with my Forza console that's sitting here collecting dust. They're the same was the later 360 headsets with the inline switch (and gamestop will only give me the 360 value of $1.65, since they refuse to believe they came with my Forza XB1).

Cover shipping ($3-4) and they're yours. I'd rather they go to a veteran CAG who needs them than give GS the satisfaction.

This is what they look like:

I will take them but one quick dumb question are you sure they have the 3.5mm end on them and not the 360's 2.5mm end? I have like 2-3 of the 360 ones that look just like that but they use a 2.5mm end.

I have a 360 headset that looks like that too...but it doesn't fit in my newer Xbox One controller.

Yeah, it's 3.5 (I tested it just now to make sure). MS apparently cheaped out and wanted to burn through their backstock of leftover 360 headsets and just put a different plug on them, because other than that, they are exactly the same as the old 360 ones.

I totally forgot that 360's used 2.5 and should have argued that with the manager at Gamestop. Meh, I'd still be glad to help a CAG in need.

This still available, sp00ge, the 360 headset with the 2.5mm plug? If so, let me know and I'll take it/them off your hands.

Ok, am I missing something here?! I want to share a screenshot and not do it the old way I always do and use a smartphone on my TV. OK, screenshot captured, go to the screenshot and hit the menu button and see Set as Background, Delete, Help & Switch User. The help say that there should be a share option here, google says the same but there is no share option!!!! What am I doing wrong here.

Aren't all screenshot and videos automatically shared now?

^where, all I want is the ability to grab the screenshot to post online. Due to my ISP cap I'm not online a lot so this is relatively new territory for me.

Log into your account on Xbox.com, go to the top right and on the drop down menu -> Profile. Clips and screenshots are on that page.

It's a few days old, just created it. My uploaded videos are up there yeah but not the screen (don't have the share option, it auto shares now, someone should update the help file).

Really fuck ing sick of my Xbox One not logging me in about 50% of the time I boot up my Xbox. Ever since the November update (worked perfectly before), about 50% of the time I start up my Xbox, it wont connect to live. It will not connect whatsoever until I hard reset it. Not to mention my games randomly don't sync to cloud saves whenever it feels like it.

Network is hard wired into my router.

Anyone else having this problem?

This was linked in the XBL Deals thread, give it a try. https://www.reddit.com/r/xboxone/comments/3tv65d/ridiculously_long_sign_in_time_on_nxoe/

What would be fantastic is if you bought it once (on the XOne), you got the game on both XOne and a Steam Key for PC. I know that will never happen but one can dream.

Although I love this because for me there are games where my PC can't run it but I know if I upgrade in 2-3 years I can take advantage of mods.

So, I picked up Rocket League. I love it, but it seems like they didn't spend much time on getting it ready for Xbox One because it crashes from time to time. Really frustrating.

I found uninstalling and reinstalling it helps, but not much. Meh.

That's crazy reading about all these crash issues. Like I posted in another thread, I've probably put 10 hours or so in and haven't had a single crash.

I wonder if it has to do with how I'm playing it. I actually got the wife into it, so we've been playing it as local couch co-op. Splitscreen is fun, until it crashes and now two people want to throw controllers. Ha.

Someone else posted about issues with split screen, so that might be it.

Yeah, sounds like it. I haven't done split screen, fiance said it looks to complicated for her.

Just had a completely worthless chat with someone at xbox assistance about not being able to buy the game Braid. Why is it not possible to buy these backwards compatible games on the One?

I have a question about Name Your Game. My country is not listed on the redeem website. Can I buy the code on CAG and use it on my account? I heard something about license cancellation if the code is not for the proper country.

It makes sense. Although, I think it involves completely changing out your console, unlike PCs. They already tested it in a way via the Xbox One Elite Edition. The next step would be upgrading the RAM or graphics card (or both). That could work if the price point was right and it added to the life cycle of the console. I mean, how many people trade in their consoles for new special editions when places like Gamestop are running promos? I know I traded in my Day One edition for the elite bundle.

Here's apartial lost of new features coming to preview program (stolen from http://majornelson.com/2016/03/01/coming-to-preview-buy-xbox-360-games-on-xbox-one-16-person-party-chat-and-more/):

Here’s what’s coming to Xbox One Preview:

– Purchase Xbox 360 Backward Compatible games on Xbox One: Fans have spent more than 30 million hours playing Xbox 360 games on Xbox One and so it’s natural that being able to purchase Xbox 360 Backward Compatible games on Xbox One ranks as one of your top requests. With this update, you’ll be able to do so! Find and purchase Xbox 360 Backward Compatible games the same way you would Xbox One titles and, once purchased, Xbox 360 Backward Compatible content will automatically download to your Xbox One and be ready to play!

– Include Party Chat in Twitch broadcasts: A top voted-for feature on Xbox Feedback, Xbox One Preview members will be able to broadcast Party Chat when using the Twitch app. If you are broadcasting from your console and in a party, you can invite other people to include their chat audio in your broadcast. If a member of your party declines, they’ll still be able to chat in the party; they just won’t be heard in the broadcast. Additionally, as the party leader, you have the option to mute a party member’s chat audio, even if they opted-in. You can also include party members on Windows 10 PCs in your Twitch broadcast.

– Output your Party Chat to headset and speakers simultaneously: Xbox One Preview members will be able to select their preference for where Party Chat audio is heard: their headset, speakers, or both. To do this, go to Settings – Display & Sounds – Volume.

– Customizable Game DVR recording length: Based on Xbox Feedback, it’s clear that fans want to be able to configure the length of their Game DVR recordings. Currently, Game DVR recording is fixed to a 30 second duration. With this update, Xbox One Preview members can adjust the recording length to 15 seconds, 30 seconds, 45 seconds, 1 minute, 3 minutes or 5 minutes. To change the preferences, visit Settings – Preferences – Game DVR & streaming.

– Track Achievement progress in the Xbox One guide: We’re making it easier to access your Achievements by including them in the Xbox One guide. In the new Achievements area you’ll find a quick link to see all of your Achievements and you’ll be able to track your Achievement progress in real time directly in the guide, without having to snap a separate Achievements app.

– Video playback directly in the Xbox One Activity Feed: We’ve made improvements to video playback in the Xbox One Activity Feed. Xbox One Preview members will be able to play an entire video inline rather than having to leave their feed to launch it. You can even ‘like’ the video while previewing it by pressing X. Preview members will also enjoy new pause, restart, and full-screen playback options, when they do choose to launch a video from their Activity Feed.

The console was released in November 2013, just the fact that it took this long for this "feature" to be added is mind blowing! I mean why were things listed in the store if you couldn't purchase them?? Guess that solves my Braid issue...

Backwards compatability came out recently. This is why it wasn't a dearie day one. Could you buy ps3 games on the PS4 without being able to play them on the PS4? Same idea.

No because you can't play ps3 games on ps4 *unless you sign up for ps now, which nah*. But the day ps2 games became playable on ps4 not only were they playable but you could also buy them on the console. My point was, the games were listed in the store for xbox one but not purchaseable. It's the whole reason I wasted 40 minutes chatting with someone from their support department and came away with no answers.

I did forget though that it was a new feature so I stand corrected on that, but still it should have been an automatic that anything playable on the system should have been buyable on said system.

I'm holding onto my current XB1 until we end up with the inevitable XB1 Slim or its equivalent. Maybe this year, maybe next year, though we'll see what happens.

I agree that is it rather silly the feature wasn't there at launch, but how could you possibly spend 40 minutes with support to find out it isn't?
