Good going Major Nelson. Scold your customers after the fact, rather than taking the opportunity to correct the mistake ahead of time. Also, MS might extend the Free Game plan, offering more games no one would give a shit about (I'm calling it, free Perfect Dark Zero in August): http://www.vg247.com/2013/07/01/microsoft-might-extend-free-xbox-gold-games-offer-is-sorry-about-dissapointment/
My original quote, and the following responses:But if what went on with the Xbox reveal falls on Mattricks shoulders you're insane to think he isn't expendable. I'd bet money that Don doesn't hold the same position come next Monday.
*shakes head*They won't know any implications on the reveal until q1 of 2014...
But you are apparently smarter than everyone so I don't know what the point in debating you really is...
They won't fully know until the X1 has been on the shelves for a few months. Not everyone takes the reveal as personally as some have.
I bet you're glad I didn't take you up on this bet aren't you?How about this, you leave this site for good if he still has a job next Monday. If he doesn't I will leave. Sound like a deal?
lol YESSS xbox just got alot better. the way he acted over all this i bet any money he was one of the main guys that pushed for the drm junk. He is only leaving because all this backlash hapend and he did not get his way. Don't let the door hit you in the butt.Looks like Don Mattrick is leaving Microsoft

Yeah I'm sure he wasn't shoved out the door to a company that's on the verge of financial ruin...You continue to amaze me. It was widely thought and published that he would be getting a promotion. He didn't get fired, he took a job with another company. You continue to troll so hard that you can't even comprehend the situation.
Fantastic news, I attribute my switch from the 360 to the PS3 to his management and direction, but more important is who will take his place. It really needs to be a gaming centric guy. Also think they need a total house cleaning not just Mattrick, but also Spencer and even Hryb.I think everyone thought he would be getting a promotion though, dont you agree Rippn? That seems the way of Corporations these days... put foot in mouth? Great, here's $500,000 more a year!
I'd say we could all agree him leaving is actually a good thing honestly right?![]()
Agreed.Fantastic news, I attribute my switch from the 360 to the PS3 to his management and direction, but more important is who will take his place. It really needs to be a gaming centric guy. Also think they need a total house cleaning not just Mattrick, but also Spencer and even Hryb.
You really are a douche, when you're proven wrong you still attack? And he got fired idiot, he isn't going to a failing company because it looks attractive to him.You continue to amaze me. It was widely thought and published that he would be getting a promotion. He didn't get fired, he took a job with another company. You continue to troll so hard that you can't even comprehend the situation.
Congrats! Rippin +1 Internet 0
You win again megamind!
100% correct!Yeah I'm sure he wasn't shoved out the door to a company that's on the verge of financial ruin...
A winner is you, Microsoft...Defense Grid: The Awakening is a 3D tower defense game released on December 9th, 2008 on the Steam platform. Additionally, a version was later released for Xbox Live Arcade on September 2, 2009. The PC version contains 20 different maps. Each map can have multiple variations on the conditions, such as making the enemies harder or reducing the amount of resources the player has access to. There is a light story narrated by the player's AI companion, which involves the destruction of human civilization by a race of interdimensional aliens, the enemies in the game.
Aaron Greenburg also seems like a pretty on the level guy, he's been good in interviews.Agreed.
The restructuring is scheduled to take place today I believe. Internally at least.
If I had to pick from someone there that I actually like, I think that's Yusuf. He seems to be pretty passionate about games in general, and has been with Microsoft forever.
Not everyone is a dolt and needs everything spelled out for them.Where does it say he got fired genius?
he has never showed it till al lthis xbox one stuf starterdMajor nelson has always been a corporate puppet,he whole nice guy persona is just a act.
Except the sentiment in most of the forums you post in is nobody can stand you. So take a hint.Yep he got fired Rippin
I really can't take this guy..
io where are you?
Rippin - Cyberbully much?
Ring a bell? And it's been in other threads as well. Not even worth it. I'm too old for this shit.
Congrats! Rippin +1 Internet 0
You win again megamind!
It was an Xbox discussion until your above attacks on me, just because I quoted your snarky comments from a week ago when I stated Mattrick would be gone and took pleasure in rubbing it in your face. Now you want to appear as the victim and act like you're not part of the problem? Seriously guy...It will definitely be interesting to see what MS does now for sure!
Maybe they should hire Rippin!
Yusef is obviously next in line or Spencer. Hmmm this just got a bit more exciting!
Some will definitely see this as a positive. It seems microsoft is slowly going downhill, each day its something negative.
Considering the majority of that spew *comes from kids*, I really dont think their parents are around to hear it.There was one thing the player one broadcast brought up today that I didn't even think about for families-I think once parents hear all the swearing/racist/homophobic/sexist coming out of that Kinect from online a-holes you might get a lot of them returning it. You could hide that with a headset/mute option, pretty sure Kinect doesn't have that.
I didn't know that. I don't own one I just assumed it was impossible based on the amount of times I've run into people who don't. Well then I hope they make it very clear to people that it will be broadcasting unless they mute it because it seems many don't currently know that with the current Kinect. However, you can (as always) simply turn off voice chat just like you can currently on the 360.
Yes, the current Kinect you can turn off the Mic by the way. (http://support.xbox.com/en-US/xbox-360/kinect/turn-kinect-features-on-or-off )
kinect don't have audio coming out it dudeThere was one thing the player one broadcast brought up today that I didn't even think about for families-I think once parents hear all the swearing/racist/homophobic/sexist coming out of that Kinect from online a-holes you might get a lot of them returning it. i have my kinect on mute 100 percent of the time during gameplayI didn't know that. I don't own one I just assumed it was impossible based on the amount of times I've run into people who don't. I think he's more saying with a Kinect everyone will have a way to talk online and without an included headset many will have others talking coming straight out of their tv for all to hear instead of into headphones.kinect don't have audio coming out it dude
You mean to tell me you didn't go on and on about how amazing Kinect 2.0 will be? shocking lol, but seriously though I can totally see this happening with a lot with parents, they'll buy what their kids want even if its $100 more.So my cousin who is just a little older than me (mid 40s) was over this past weekend and she asked me about the X1. She's not big into the gaming scene at all and has two boys 15 and 11 and one girl who is 9. Her boys are already all over her about getting the X1. She has no idea what it does only that her boys say that it will be better than the 360 and they love their 360 and that this one actually comes with the Kinect. She says that even though it is a little more that she will probably get it because they loved their 360 so much. Pretty interesting look into this entire thing for me. I didn't offer any suggestions, I just wonder how many parents will think just like this.
WTF dude sounds drunk. I found this funnier. We'll never know truly if he was pushed out or not but the timing is an amazing coincidence if not. It's official:
Zynga: Big Day
This is pretty funny:

It's not unusual for promotion days to be marked with resignations on the same day. A lot of corporations do a mass promotion day to keep the promotion experience level within the office (i.e. senior managers 3 years can be compared against senior managers of 4 years without any worry of months in promotion overlapping. A difference in a year is a year period -not 6 months seniority). A lot of the evaluations are done at the same time so it's easier for a company to manage a wave of promotions all at once. Promotion parties are the best because open bar for everyoneI tend to think that he left of his own accord before getting fired or demoted (or possibly moved off the Xbox team all together).
It's just a bit odd that he announces hes leaving (WITHOUT having another job atm, just speculation) the very day a restructuring at the company is taking place. We know a memo went out and discussion with senior executives has happened or is happening right now....
Isnt it just a bit odd that he leaves *today*? Someone had to take the blame, and the guy saying "Stick with a 360" would be the most likely candidate in my opinion. There were far better things to say then that particular phrase.
