saw several PA listing for $1 games, that lead to a ad for a store >.>
There's a local store in my area that will post one game at a time with really cheap prices flooding the entire video game section. I saw Brink for $1.5 and thought why not. So I called and turns out I had to pick it up in store. Okay sure, I drive near it from time I time so I stopped by.
I arrive and the owner of the store rings me up at $25. I told him how I asked of it was 1.50 on Craigslist and over the phone the same guy says yes. So I point it out. Turns out I was being charged for them having to pull the game out, and since it was their last one and all this silly extra made Brink around 25 bucks from the 1.50.
As he goes to the back I notice he has a little ad up that says "matching Bestbuy's 100% bonus trade in!" and next it a binder of values that the store gave. I looked up Brink and for some reason it's 17.50
He comes back with the game which he just tosses to me and asks for the money. I pay the 25 walk out then walk back in telling him I was to trade in a game. I open the binder, grab the ad, and hand him brink.
He wasn't happy and I walked out with 32 cash instead of 35 credit.
I wouldn't have minded maybe paying a few extra bucks since it was a local business. But the owner was a jerk, and he shouldn't advertise games for prices he won't sell at.
(I will say I never felt that I was rude to the man, I was actually excited walking in and discovering a local game shop)
That is my lengthy Craigslist tale
