i hate pricks like that. i had some asshole offer me $25 for earthbound in one of the facebook groups i am in. i wasn't selling it, but i told him to make an offer b/c i knew he was a super lowballer. i nicely told him to fuck off.
And you would've offered about $100, right?
i already have a copy, so i wouldn't have made an offer. give me a fucking break though. a $25 offer for EB is absurd.

It's been a real drought in my area for Craigslist the entire past week. Nothing but a bunch of ridiculous people charging obscene prices for games, most of which are crap to begin with.

Take this for example:

http://raleigh.craigslist.org/vgm/3259781466.html

OH BOY! 40 Dollars for a used copy of GTA IV for PS3!?!?! This is my lucky day! And the guy is so charitable he will even throw in a copy of NCAA 10!
not quite as bad as

but still, how do people come up with these outrageous prices?
wow well you topped me!
that's pretty insane

Holy crap!

Ok the same guy just posted some more ads. This has got to be a joke. He cant be this stupid or could he.

Well, he knows the games are popular ones, so he's overcharging probably on that basis alone, therefor he knows exactly what he's doing. Play with him a little bit. Maybe he can "meet you" somewhere an hour away lol.

Hi. I am selling a European (plays on American SNES!) controller as seen below. This is the awesome multi color button version and it says Super Nintendo on top, NOT Super Famicom. The controller is used and has decent wear on it but does work fine. This is an official release by Nintendo of Europe. It will play on any Super NES or Famicom deck as well as on your PC (with a USB adaptor you will have to supply or buy from me for an additional $25 - INCLUDES MAME NEBULA NESTER and SNES9x GENECYST emulation).

Yes, he's selling a European SNES controller, the SFC version you can get on eBay for about $15, at $30 and then he demands an extra $25 for something you can also get for cheap as well as a measly flash drive.

His prices may suck but he did take a good picture. That's something that pretty much every Craigslist ad I see lacks.
http://newyork.craigslist.org/brx/vgm/3262211732.html

This guy is selling hacked SNES carts, calling them "rare" games. For all we know they may as well be football games with fancy labels, especially since those games mostly exist for the SFC.
these are repros, and likely legit based on the artwork (i've seen some of those labels before). i'd have to test before buying to make sure they weren't fake though.

Final Fantasy VI is not about crystals.....
exactly. i have a few (a couple of zelda repros and earthbound zero), but i'm not big on these.
AH, yeah, i probably wouldn't touch these for $0.25 for the set
http://metroidquest.angelfire.com/FF6_EC_vX/

What he was saying is that these are romhacks that have been put into a cartridge. There is a market for them, although I'm certainly not part of it.
would another one of these be Mega Man 8 - Mega Man & Bass? Some guy is selling that one and Super Mario World 3 - Return to Dinosaur land for $95 each

http://sandiego.craigslist.org/nsd/vgm/3226416871.html

edit- and how much are they actually worth if anything?

yeah. those are repros too. they are way overpriced. SNES repros go for $40-60; NES repros go for as low as $25 and on up. some people are into them, some aren't (and some are in the middle like me)

I have a running post on CL looking to buy old gaming stuff, but it keeps getting flagged now. There's a guy who owns this "Higher Ground Gaming" site who keeps spamming the VG section and I'm assuming he has a program or buddies who flag stuff. Another guy said his has been getting flagged as well, but he sells more recent games.

Nothing I can do about it I guess, it just really sucks to keep having to put my ad up a few times a day. Funny thing is maybe it works in my favor, being constantly towards the top of the page lol. Some people are just jerks.

When you get ghosted, you'll be a lot more pissed about it.

http://milwaukee.craigslist.org/vgm/3254896625.html

This asshole has been reselling every game that goes remotely on sale. He must have cleared out a lot of the best buy gaming blowout stuff and realized how many tens of dollars he could profit by only wasting hours of his time selling them on Craigslist!

It's not so much as stupidity but more of an annoyance, when people decide to spam up Craigslist and list every single game they have in separate posts. You'll 20 line items of one guy's listing of games. Seriously? You have to list out FIFA 11, FIFA 12, and Rage in 3 separate posts? Just consolidate the damn listing in one post. It comes up in searches anyways! Ugh.
