Zelda NES Gold label difference?

I did some research on Ebay for a copy of Legend of Zelda for the original NES and saw two different color labels, Gold(the one I have) and another one. Is there a difference between the two other than the color of the label?

Are you describing the actual gold cart version, and the other standard cart colored "grey" version (I don't see these as much)?

If your question is if there is a difference in the actual game play and not just the cart color type, the answer at least from me is no. I do not think there is any other difference besides the cartridge materials. Nintendo used the Gold paint scheme as eye candy marketing. Even though the gold version is more recognized, I have only come across 1 grey cartridge in the wild before and of course picked it up. I own both versions.

I was talking about the label because that's what I thought was different, but I guess it's the cart that's different. I got the grey cart, but I was just wondering if there was any difference other than cosmetic.

Thanks for the info!

The gold version is the original version and was mostly used as a marketing tactic by Nintendo to sell the game and make it different, this is the more common version you see.

The grey cart was released more near the end of the NES lifespan as the "classic series" or in today's terms (Greatest Hits, Platinum Hits). The label is slightly different in arrangement of text and other minor details. This version is not rare but is more uncommon to find/see. Usually these versions will fetch a few more $ at auction, which is kind of ironic as the store back then would sell for a few $$ less than the gold version.

You will notice this version by the actual box itself as it will have a big red text box on the front saying "classic series" even though the actual box remains gold colored.

Nintendo released similar alternates around the same time including the yellow label metroid (which is actually more uncommon today as well) VS the original metroid silver label. Funny as in todays time usually the "greatest hits" version is worth less $. Now the difference in actual value in dollars and cents is not much but slightly elevated over the other.

As far as actual game play of the game gold VS grey cart.. They are exactly the same.
