Whats Disgaeas normal price? Ive been debating getting it for the hell of it since its by far my favorite one in the series. I have it on ps2 of course but might be nice to play it on ps3 as well. Its just that with all the ps1 classics i want to get im not sure if i want to throw out 5 bucks for something i cant take mobile

I really wish ps2 classics could play on the vita or something. It would be a no brainer taking it on the go with the vita.
get Disgaea: Afternoon of Darkness (psp) (Disgaea 1) and Disgaea: Dark Hero Days (psp) (Disgaea 2)instead.

Disgaea is perfect for the mobile, and the psp versions are effectively superior to the ps2 ones (more characters, in some cases improved mechanics, etc.)

they both play on vita, which in itself is the the absolute best way to play the games, hands down. and by the time you get through 1, 2, and 3, 4 will also be on vita.

i have those too, a couple copies of each =P I didn't know they had new characters in them, really? I did hear they changed the voice actors though in those. I liked the original Etna dub voice actress. Not sure about the new one. None of those listed are on sale right now though i think, which is why im asking what Disgaea for the ps2's regular price is. For some reason it doesn't list the original price and i cant find it. it only lists the sal $5 price

3 already is on the vita btw. I didn't like 3 much though. i technically beat it on the ps3 by getting that early ending losing to the little pink girl on stage 4 or whatever. That way i can say i did beat it and move on =P Maybe ill play the vita version as my first real playthough. I dont know what it was but something about the game just felt way off to me

i got all the single player trophies in tomb raider and flipped it. pretty game and it was fun, but i see it being $10/ps+ soon enough. and only mp dlc? what a waste.

i thought it was hilarious tho when she gets the grenade launcher mod for her assault rifles and yells 'im gonna kill all you bastards'.

also those final upgraded execution kills are pretty brutal, reminded me of dead to rights style.

just noticed bestbuy sale, you could get it for $12 ish. used, b2g1f.

also yeah friends playing Vita show up on the bottom of my friends list with a spinning icon instead of their ps avatar.

hmm. i don't really understand the question, then. if you already have the PSP versions, why buy the PS2 versions if, by your own statement, you prefer playing them on handhelds (which i agree with)?
Unless you're just smitten with the $5 sale? If i were you I'd save that $5 and wait for the psp versions to go on sale.

Imo the absolute best way to play the entire Disgaea series is buying them digital for Vita. SRPGS + handhelds = perfection.

Has anyone here finished the Wipeout 2048 online campaign? I stopped playing about a year ago and I'm starting to pick it up again. Jesus it's a lot of work.
i have to do asphalt and wipeout online... and yes, both add up.

I did late last year. It definitely took awhile. The later nodes even to just pass them you have to come in 1st place. Been meaning to go back and do all the single player stuff eventually. The unlockable skins you get for the ships for finishing multiplayer are very nice looking though. All I can say is just be patient with it.

Oh my favorite just sort of weird "well we have to make her do something" bit was with how whenever she picked something up it was like she was sticking it down the back of her pants. The topper that came at the end of the game was when she
takes the sepuku blade, cuts herself on it, remarks how sharp it is
then sticks it in the back of her pants.

By the end of the game Lara's pretty scary though and when you go back to collect all the stuff she's a downright sociopath. I mean who goes back to an island and starts wholesale slaughtering the wildlife with an assault rifle? Or goes back to somewhere she just escaped and starts murdering the few people still on the island... INSIDE THEIR OWN HOMES AS THEY'RE HANGING OUT WHISTLING!

I'm going to start it back up when I'm done with Ragnarok and I'm dreading it, I stopped at the beginning of level 10, I think. Is there still a good amount of people online?

Also, I've asked this a few times but I keep not starting the game, but this time I'm gonna start the game right now, so does anyone have Pure Chess on Vita and want to play some matches?

http://blog.us.playstation.com/2013/08/11/the-drop-week-of-august-12th-2013-new-releases/

Here's The Drop for this week:

PlayStation Network

DuckTales Remastered - DuckTales Remastered takes the classic Disney platforming adventure to a whole new level. All of the visuals from the 8-bit game have been beautifully re-created as hand-drawn and animated sprites, across a backdrop of luscious, re-envisioned level backgrounds.

Furthermore, original Disney Character Voices talent, including some from the cartoon TV series, bring in-game characters to life with charm and wit, while the classic melodies of the original soundtrack are given a modern twist. The game also features an all new tutorial level where players can get familiar with the iconic pogo jump and cane swing, while Scrooge McDuck’s Museum allows players to track all their stats and compare their progress with others via global leaderboards.

PayDay 2 - Put a crew together for the second entry in the thrilling heist shooter PayDay. Don the masks of the original PayDay crew — Dallas, Hoxton, Wolf and Chains — and descend on Washington D.C. for an epic crime spree. The new CRIMENET network in PayDay 2 offers a huge range of dynamic contracts and players are free to choose anything from small-time convenience store hits or kidnappings, to major league cyber-crime or emptying out major bank vaults for that epic PAYDAY. While in D.C., why not participate in the local community and run a few political errands?

Open Me! - (For PS Vita) – An addictive augmented reality puzzle game for the PS Vita system that challenges players to think “outside the box”. The goal is simple: open the box and collect the items inside. But be prepared – each box has its own unique traps that require you to think creatively. There is also a multiplayer mode where communication skills and speed between players are key to opening these boxes. Take the challenge and think outside the box!

A-Men (For PS Vita) – A-men is a logic-based puzzle-platforming game focused on thought provoking puzzle scenarios, absorbing entertainment, and a charmingly classic art-style. March across four themed worlds and 40 complex action puzzle stages, using wits and quick movements to avoid dangers and unleash traps on foes who patrol your path.

BreakQuest: Extra Evolution – BreakQuest is back in a whole new evolution! Stunning visuals and shapes, energizing physics and exciting sounds highlight BreakQuest: Extra Evolution, which offers 100 completely redesigned action-packed levels, each featuring own colorful design, elements behavior and visual effects.

Thunder Wolves – Get in your helicopter, get ready, and go! The Thunder Wolves are the best helicopter pilots in the world, and they have already made it through countless battles. Every one of them is ready for action at any time, and ready to battle evil, no matter where it lurks. Get your helicopter airborne and get ready for some furious fireworks and top-class gaming action!

Fruit Ninja (For PS Vita) – Swipe your finger across the screen to deliciously slash and splatter fruit like a true ninja warrior. But be careful of the bombs, which are explosive to the touch and will put a swift end to your juicy adventure!

Fruit Ninjas also uses OpenFeint, so players can unlock achievements and shoot for the top of the global leaderboards while racking up OpenFeint points. Your success will also please the wise ninja Sensei, who will accompany your journey with wise words and fun fruit facts.

Mars: War Logs – In the destroyed world of Mars, two destinies mingle together. Two beings searching for their identity travel across a broken planet, constantly facing bloody political conflicts which tear the old colonies apart. Often divided, sometimes fighting the same enemies, both are the source of the advent of a new era…

Mars: War Logs is a sci-fi RPG action game that innovatively merges character development and light and rhythmic fights. it takes you on a journey deep into an original futuristic universe and presents you with scenarios dealing with difference, racism and environment.

Demos

  • Saints Row IV: Inauguration Station
  • Thunder Wolves
  • A-Men (For PS Vita)
  • Madden NFL 25
  • Mars: War Logs

Isn't Breakquest for the Vita? And also free to play?

Also, tomorrows my final day to decide on duck tales. some reviews have already started leaking out and they look mostly positive. I wish the trophy list would leak, I'd just like to see how they're set up, and if they encourage replayability.

I get games without any problems. The only issue I'm having is that people seem to be a lot better than I remember. I used to have no problem winning, but now I can barely score points. At least it seems like people have smartened up and stopped picking race over combat.

Sweet, that's good news to me as I think luck can play a part in the combat races, so even if you're up against really good players, if you get a streak of quakes, you'll win.

Exactly. Sometimes you seem to get nothing but cannons, which pisses me off. I'm at the last node of level 10, and I just got my first "Finish First" objective. I feel like its going to suck once that's all I get. I heard level 16 is when you have to finish first for just about every node.

Yea, sometimes you will get bad luck with items. After level 10, you will get more 1st place finish requirements for each one. If I remember correctly 18-20 levels are almost all 1st place finishes. With only a small handful of them top half finishes.

I found it to always use the fighter ships on combat since they do more damage. Combat races are always better since the requirements you will get like "kill or hit a specific player" or "destroy 1/2 ship(s)" are almost impossible to do in races since they end so fast. What makes the grind so painful is almost everyone playing wants 1st place since they need it, and the long loading times between matches (like 2 minutes each time). I did find when you get a full room of people it was easier to get top half and 1st place finishes, since there were more points to be had with ships in the race. Most people also tend to pass this game up since you pretty much can't boost the multiplayer. 210 nodes just take a long time even if you are great at the game.

Good luck to you both on it. :)

The achievement list is out and I'm assuming they'll be the same: http://www.xbox360achievements.org/game/ducktales-remastered/achievements/

Now that I'm home I've been able to look into Breakquest more. Looks real cool, I'll definitely be downloading it on Tuesday. Europe got it last week, along with another F2P Vita game Deathmatch Village that looks OK. Floating Cloud God HD also hit EU PSN last week as well, hopefully we get both of those soon.

Yeah my guess is that they'll be the same, but sometimes they switch them up a little (usually on XBLA games that have 30 achievements, since PSN games can't have that many bronze trophies; one recent example would be Runner 2) but since there are only 20 I'd guess that they'd pretty much all transfer over as bronze trophies. I'd just like confirmation they'll be the same, I think the Xbox achievement list looks real good.

fuck there's been this one dude I keep getting lobbied up with. He has something like 20 wins. Somehow he manages to get the full 60 or 70 points required to win within like a minute. Nearest person has 10-15 points. How is that even possible? Every friggen game.

but did Jetpack have openfeint enabled on the PS3 or Vita? I know it does on iOS, but I don't recall it being included in the PSN builds. The FruitNinja blurb from the Drop says OpenFeit is enabled.
Jetpack didn't have any Openfeint in it on Vita/PS3, I think Openfeint closed down by the time it released on those platforms. Plus there's no way Sony would have Openfeint included on it, given they have their own achievement/leaderboard system on their platforms.

As it's been pointed out by PSNstores and others, the PS Blog likely pasted an old news story about Fruit Ninja on mobile (iOS or Android). I didn't know iOS had Openfeint, given they have GameCenter.

Just wondering, is it worth getting Rayman Origins for the Vita if you plan on getting Rayman Legends for the Vita?
at the current sale price? i think so. RO is amazing on the vita, and worth spending your time with. RL is going to include some of same levels as a bonus, sure, but you'll still get your money's worth now imo.

Anyways. No PS Plus or Vita sales announced in the blog cast last night?

Pure Chess complete was the only deal announced according to Frisky's recap.

I was just reading up on it and might bite if it's at $.99 like some of the recent sales. The wife has been wanting to learn chess so this might be a good way to get that going.

Anyone know if the online part of that game has been patched? I probably won't play much online, but the reviews I read made it sound horrible with no random matches and only "play-by-mail" options.

I'll be getting Katamari and probably Ridge Racer and Dead or Alive 5 Plus. Tempted on UMvC but have the cart. Plus running low on my 32gb.

dat soul sacrifice price

sony bringing the sale hotness, devouring retail boxed prices.
Ditto on Muramasa. Strikes me as the game that's going to take forever to drop in price, if it ever even does. $21 is a good price for it, even though I hate paying that much for digital titles.

I just sold my cart version of Soul Sacrifice, I didn't love it, so I think I'll wait for it to get cheaper.

I think I'll pick up Little King's Story for sure. Katamari will be hard to pass up too.

Man...both Soul Sacrifice and Muramasa are up there for way cheaper than I paid for a physical version. And I have hardly played either of them haha. Shows me yet again that curtailing my purchases for my backlog recently was a good idea. Only buy games I can play right now or have to play day one! -_-

I would sell them both and get the digital copies, but I'd rather have them physical and my memory card is near max already anyways. Big loss for this CAG right here lol. Oh well, I'm still learning how to best handle my game purchasing lately.

Will be picking up DOA5+ for $10. If you don't already have them, I highly rec Muramasa (playing right now) and Soul Sacrifice, though I can see these being $20 carts for BF.

Can anyone recommend Atelier Totori Plus? I haven't seen it for $20 before.

Yoshida has confirmed we don't need a PS4 to get the free PS+ titles offered on the system. Most of us probably know the answer to this but a confirmation is nice.
This is awesome to have confirmed since I won't be buying a PS4 for awhile because of my huge PS3 and Vita backlogs.

Also, someone talk me out of buying MGS HD Collection AGAIN on my Vita when it goes on sale next week. How many times do I have to buy those games until I am no longer tempted to buy them again?
