Surprised this hadn't gotten bumped/updated tonight.

Pretty solid start to season 4 I thought. Nothing major, but decent intros of some new characters and decent amount of action.

I thought it was decent as well. My only problem is
with Tyrese. In the books, he was a badass one-man killing machine, but this episode shows him transitioning into the role of token whiner that was left vacant when Andrea got killed off. First he doesn't like killing the walkers at the fence, but then he doesn't like going out on runs either... At least Michonne is still living up to her on-paper counterpart

Judging from the Season 4 trailer preview from a few months ago, you'll get to see his badass moment when they're out in the forest and Tyrese gets swarmed with walkers and is just hacking away at them with his weapon. Patience.

I thought the episode was alright, not as good as last season's premiere but this one still had its moments.

Yea the premiere was alright, nice start to the season I suppose. Good to see others noticing their flaws haha. I thought I was just being picky.

Also..

You would think someone would check up on that kid constantly coughing in the middle of the night. I would think they would be more cautious of illnesses since you know, dead = zombie.

Same with the CGI for the plane. That looked bad by 2005 standards.
What assholes AMC are for not giving walking dead a bigger budget. I mean what else could the explanation be for having shitty graphics they've been like that since the beginning of the show.

Not only that, but
that roof supported a fucking helicopter crashing on it, but the structural support was destroyed by walkers falling through soft spots?
Well I guess the roof got water damage? I don't know.

My wife and I looked at each other when the woman said she and her husband were going to PV..... that's where we went for our one year anniversary 2 months ago....if they made it I am sure the Walkers would have stayed away because the locals would have annoyed the hell out of them.

The make up effects alone probably cost a lot more than CG.  This season better give an update on what's happening to the rest of the world.

I re-watched season 2 and marathoned S3 and just watched the S4 premiere. It seems like they rushed it.

A few comments/copmplaints

The kid had his shotgun facing darryl (which would be a no no) when they were sitting, but then the next shot it was facing away from darryl. Maybe he moved it while they were talking, but i would think they would be more careful about handling guns.

I would like to add. It isn't very difficult to pick things up with your feet.

Oh and when the governor set up the chains I was like "Oh shit" because of the comics, but that never materialized.

When did zombies become goo? It is way too easy to stab them in the head through bone.

I'm with Carl, the guy didn't drop the gun.

Rick should know better with that chick. I thought for sure he made up the statues he asked about to catch her in a lie. But I guess he isn't that clever.

maybe I am paranoid, but wouldn't you close your cell door/possibly lock it at night? I mean I closed my door when I had a roommate. I would think in the zombie apocalypse that would be a standard practice.

And where the fuck is the a-team van? Wouldn't you make a tank type vehicle that could hold a lot of people? And do scouting runs only with motorcycles? (less fuel and move faster) That's just a general complaint for every zombie type show/movie/game/book.

OH and I am looking forward to Zombie pigs...Wasn't the cow that dale saw a zombie cow?

My prediction: They will kill Maggie this season.

would think they would go everywhere in groups of two. just in case there was a prison break in

they would be so messed up if that was the cause of the deaths. Be very interesting to see how they would handle something like that ..

Maybe I am from a different school of thought, but wouldn't it make sense to kill the zombies a leave them by the fence as a deterrent? Yes they may be able to see humans, but couldn't you use tarps on the fences?  Better yet, put the dead in inbetween the two fences to support the outer fence from being collapsed. Put up tarps on the inner fence. They would mask the human scents and also discourage humans from messing with the prison...Maybe I think about fortifying too much. haha

They get rid of the bodies because they don't want to test the possibility of growing infected crops, and I believe their water supply is underground too.

That's right...worried about contamination. Boiling water would kill bacteria, but I guess this is a virus. They could pasteurize veggies, but yeah, I guess that is expecting too much in the zombie apocalypse and wouldnt help against a virus.

I do have to say the pit idea was a great one, especially if you burn them up every few days/weeks.

1st episode and Tyrese already found the wite womenz LOL

Ruh oh another black guy introduced? well we all know how this is gonna go.

Not only that, but

Walking dead logic, Zombies there for who knows how long, then somehow hear the commotion below and now the ceiling conveniently are weak enough to fall down through.

This new black guy was originally a white guy in the comic, and I don't think he's going to follow the pattern and replace Tyrese, at least he better not.

I can see Roy, based on what seems to be recovering alcoholism and a haunted past, becoming completely unhinged and turning into the new "villain" for the season. I guess only time will tell...

Darryl killed the new kid.  Darryl is an immune carrier (for whatever he has).  When he licked his fingers before shaking hands with the kid that set up the transmission of the virus.

I win.

I think the governor is in Atlanta
getting the tank. I think they can operate it with 3 people.

Never gave that a thought but you might be right.

I'm expecting one of the cast to die this season. Maybe Glen. Season 5 or 6 I'm betting Darryl gets killed off or they at least toy around with the idea.

They won't kill Darryl...you will lose the women that watch it just for him. Norman Reedus has BJs for life after him 'saving' Carol last season. He can go anywhere/anytime and hook up with any chick...must be nice

A similar thing would go for Maggie, but I have a feeling she will get killed off. I mean Carol,Beth, or Hershel would be the easy choices. So far they have been killing off the least popular/evil characters it seems (except for Dale). I think they will go for someone who will be missed this season. In theory Rick, Glen, Carl, should be untouchable, but every series likes to 'shake things up' now.

Do you read the comic?

I read up to issue 92 or 94...I think it was the 14th or 15th trade paperback.
You're going to be in for some shocks, my friend. Very disturbing ones.

You could read the comic and still not know whats going to happen on the show.
Very true. I sincerely hope that they don't follow the comic, although I wouldn't be surprised if they
combined the Governor and Negan like they did Dale and Hershel. I'm not too sure how popular Glen is, but I can't help but feel like they're going to kill him off anytime they show him on screen. The only awesome character to come out of the Negan plot is Jesus because he's on par with Michonne in terms of badassness.

Oh I started playing the Daryl and Merle WD game. It is like dead Island, but less weapons, no customization, and simple layouts. I do enjoy the crossbow though. Die hard gamers would hate the gameplay, but I am playing it for the story and the real actors do the voices. The game is not good at all, but I will play through it ;)

I hope they don't either. The comics, while good, have kind of gone over-the-top with certain plot elements, not to mention some of the more messed up shit that's happened since around issue 95.

At this point, I want the show to do its own thing and, other than introducing characters, avoid most comic book plot points.

What's a tank going to do against zombies? Besides once he runs out of fuel and ammo, he's SOL.
Fuel, yes, but who needs ammo when you're dealing with zombies and you have a fuckng tank!?

And no, I don't see it happening. However, I still stick by my prediction of the Governor replacing Negan and having a whole new base/army at his disposal by the time Michonne tracks him down.

I really wonder if they are going to leave the prison by the end of the first half of the season.  If the walkers are pushing in, it's only a matter of time before they breach the fence.

Since it seems that they are generating power some how...why not electrify the fence?

Wait, people are arguing about logic in a show involving a constantly brand new looking 2011 Hyundai Tucson in a zombie apocalypse?

ummm why do the zombies keep attacking the fences  when they see people  YET  they left  michonne alone when she had the walkers with her cause she smelled like them..  they are right next to the walkers killing them the fence.  IF the Smells mask the people why wouldnt the walkers just walk away from the fence  when they get up to the people  (Cause they would be smelling the other walkers)

Power is a luxury and limited, plus electricity won't harm the walkers unless it is high enough voltage for them to fry. Really I would keep the sound things with the pits going, then burn them every few days.

Rick was using the barrel water to wash it after every mission..."Sorry Patrick. There is no price too high for a clean vehicle" -Rick

I talked to my dad for about 30 seconds and he saw I had rented the walking dead first season. He managed to spoil a season 3 moment. Luckily I am caught up or I would have been pissed. He already spoiled like 3 things this this year. He just doesnt get it.

They dun fucked up now, they messed with cuttys wite womenz. That carol scene with that random dad jobber made me care more about him than people way more important than he was in the show. Definitely was a good scene compared to the garbage 20 mins that came before it.

so how did rick figure out the pigs had swine aids zombie flu?
wonder how long till rick dies now that he got the last pig blood all over his face. OR they will pull hes imummed to the flu and he saves everyone.

love how he tells the kid to stay away but then allows the kid to talk to the rest of the people whos infected LOL
