Xbox One Console Thread (Console is currently in stock as of 12/3 at Amazon)

There was one cop car in my GameStops parking lot when I just came by to get my ticket.

I'll be bringing a knife just in case. No carry license.

I think the xbox one release will have less people that ps4.

The gs' i've visited said they've only taken 40 x1 pre-orders while taking 100+ ps4 pre-orders.

So what was the hold up anyway? It seemed kind of strange considering the PS4 version is ready and development between console s is supposed to be so similar now.

I want Forza 5 BAD. But I'm still not sold on the whole console
 
Just bought a Xbox One controller + play and charge kit.

The packaging is reminiscent of apple, not that that is relevant to the controller itself, just a nice touch. Without using the controller to play an actual game, I really like the feel of it I can't wait for Friday.

I don't know if this is already known / been posted but the guide button is an actual tactile button, not a touch button like I had previously though.

Went to the PS4 launch tonight with a buddy of mine who was getting it. We literally went 3 hours early to our Mall Gamestop and were the only ones there until about 11:45pm when about 15 other people trickled in. Kinda funny we had a ton of cops there just standing in a circle and talking about random stuff. When 12 finally came around the cops escorted everyone to their cars and we drove off.

Got it back to his place and set it all up, couldn't recover his PSN ID because the servers were getting slammed so hard. Finally after 30 mins it went through and we played some Injustice: Gods Among Us. Was pretty fun, the controller is really nice feeling they really did a good job on the analog sticks. Injustice was not really the game to show it but graphics were decent.

Makes me so excited, just one more week until I get to sit on my ice cold porch and wait for the UPS guy to bring me my X1.

 
After weeks of trying to get Newegg to confirm, the pre-order that I made with them within 5 minutes after they were first available is, in fact, NOT a Day One Edition.  If anyone else pre-ordered from Newegg, more than likely, it won't be a Day One.

Well, the pitfalls of 2 SKU's are someone had to get all the 'Lesser' Consoles.  /endrant

That's disappointing.

If it matters, I canceled my pre-order from the Microsoft online store last night. My order was being prepared as I canceled it. That's at least one Day One console that could be available to buy if they have extras for sale later. At least I'd expect them to sell it if they can.

EDIT: Just Googled it and it doesn't, ah well I guess online co-op is better than no co-op.

My three closest Walmarts are showing PS4 in stock. Actually in-stock, not "Limited Stock".

EDIT: And looking further, it seems that only three in the entire Pittsburgh area are OOS. This gives me hope for finding an X1 next week.

It honestly depends on the store, and how many extra ones they get... Some stores are getting a ton of extra stock, 30-40, which is meeting demand, some aren't, 5-10 extra. It is weird that there isn't a more evened out approach.

 
Since there were reports of the controllers being available I contacted TRU chat. I had ordered a controller/charge kit bundle there with the 20% off coupon when it worked for preorders a while back.

It shows a release date of 11/22/13 and then it says in my order that the item is being held until 11/19/13.

I asked if it were street dated and why they cannot just ship it now, or at the very least could they confirm that it will be shipped on the 19th so I could at least MAYBE get it by the 22nd?

The rep was extremely lacking and simply kept stating that they cannot ship until release date. I asked when that date was and he told me 'the release date' and it was just a mess so I said thank you and left haha.

Anyone else who ordered from TRU, what does it say in your orders?

Even though I ordered my play and charge kit from Amazon, my status still says it will arrive on the 22nd by 8 PM.

I bought a DS4 controller and a XB1 controller on the same invoice, same sale (20% off). My DS4 controller shipped on 11/13 (scheduled for delivery on 11/20 becuase they use that God-Awful UPS Mail Innovations), while my XB1 controller shows a status of 'On Hold until release date 9/19/13...lol.

I have to assume it will ship on 11/20 and Ill get it by 11/27.

Mine says 9/19/13 haha I must have just read it over at first and assumed it read 11/19/13!

Oh TRU.

Darn well I expected not to get it until the week after release, though I had my hope up at least : P

I'm gaining hope as well.

Anybody know if the places with only a few people at midnight were only for pre-orders or not? Going closer to 11 sounds alot more appealing that 6

My walmart had 40+ PS4's that weren't pre ordered. I don't know if thats any indication of the stock we'll have for the x1 but it looks like if your willing to wait you should probably be able to get one.

I remember last year when the Wii U came out and people were saying some stores were only getting like 6 in of each model... wtf was Nintendo thinking?
 
dumb q about COD ghosts... i cancelled my amazon preorder for it because i figured i could preorder and do instore pickup at BB...

do all early copys come with the freefall dlc map?

At least for last gen yes that is the case. its crazy current gen is now officially ps4

 
I just saw on IGN they will have reviews of DR3, Crimson Dragon, KI on Monday, Review of hardware on Tuesday, Review of Forza 5 on Wednesday, and review of Ryse on Thursday.  Oh man it's almost time!!  Give me some good scores on these mo fo's

 
Still in need of a Day One edition if anyone can help. Will pay via Paypal and cover fees. I had a CAG contact me about his extra preorder on Amazon but he wanted me to give him my CC info so he could change the order to me and refused payment via Paypal. Very disappointing. Please PM me if you can help. Keep seeing a lot of people canceling their orders.

It is still before launch though. If they said Saturday then I would be a little iffy.

I mean I bet it won't score that well either way but just saying.

It would be the most funny thing if despite all of the launch titles across both platforms, Ryse is heralded as like the best, most-next gen experience so far haha What a twist that would be!
