 Anime Steals and Deals

**It is highly recommended you check the latest posts in this thread as they will often have the most up to date deals. I will attempt to reflect these sales in the OP, but always check the latest posts.**

Rightstuf

Rightstuf runs studio sales every week, sometimes even twice a week. These range from anime, manga, and even artbooks. Prices are decent, and Rightstuf has amazing customer service. I highly recommend them for that alone.

http://www.rightstuf.com/rssite/main/

You can save an additional 10% off a majority of their items (Including preorders) by buying their Got Anime membership

http://www.rightstuf.com/rssite/action/store/item/Item?ItemName=gotanime1

Amazon

Amazon tends to offer lower everyday prices on their anime, and often run sales on Funimation items routinely. Keep track on your favorites or check your daily deal's for a possible 5% off of some based off your history on Amazon.

(Also, I'd also recommend to check out Amazon's top 100 deals in Anime Bluray/DVD as they tend to show what's popular, or what is on sale.)

DVDPlanet / Deep Discount

Known by many for their bad customer service, they often make up for it with their lower prices on a lot of their items. This and they routinely run sales specifically for anime.

I highly suggest when you order from them to only order in stock items, and not ones that are backordered. Save yourself the displeasure of having to deal with the headaches. And patience is a must with these sites.

Cheapassgamer

Maybe you will find something here on our own forums! We have a thread dedicated specifically to Anime and Manga for sale from fellow Cags.

I'm tempted to get Fushigi Yugi season 2 from the RightStuf sale, cause I've always loved that series.  It just seems weird to get s2 without getting s1, but it's not marked down near as much.   I'm not sure whether I should get it and wait for s1 to go on sale for lower, or if I should wait. :headache:

EDIT: Ooh, nvm, I see DD has S1 on sale.   I think I'll bite.

I wanted to wait until all of it arrived, but since the rest of the titles I have to wait until it's release, and I'm doing my pick ups for the month, here's the pic of the stuff from DVDPlanet, still missing some because they pre-orders, but you get the picture,

Lucky YOU. I added most the items in the cart & about to check out everything is back to normal price :( Save me around $150

Very nice, Square. I'm not very big into Sentai's catalog but I already mentioned what I got. I got Wolf Children in from Right Stuf yesterday and I gotta say, it was pretty darn good. I think it topped Summer Wars since I'm almost positive it's from the same people.

I also got the Fairy Tail movie on the way, but I haven't seen past the second collection so I'm worried about spoilers and whatnot. Anyone know if I should catch up on the subs (to the point of the movie) or if watching the movie won't spoil much for me?

I'm curious, was Blood C a back-to-roots anime or just more of the same crap that was Blood+?  Nothing has done the series justice since the original Madhouse flick. : \

Guilty Crown $24 at Amazon. Get it while it's up.
Grabbed Parts 1 & 2. Compared to the Funimation Lightning Deals last week, these are selling like hotcakes---I'm sure it's helped by the fact that BOTH parts are on sale, instead of just "Part 2" :p

If I didn't already buy the limited edition and part 2 I would jump all over those. For anyone who is on the fence considering it, I highly suggest you jump on it at that price!

I'm still going to get the LE of part 1 at some point, but for that price I don't mind buying the full series now, and then selling part 1 when I can get a hold of the LE for a decent price. Great price, great series. ^__^

I asked to be put on the list to be informed if it comes back but eh, kind of glad I saved the money. Black friday is next week after all, I need to figure out gifts for my parents and friends rather than myself.

From Up on Poppy Hill just hit $11.99 on Amazon.  I'm tempted but I'm not sure it's my bite price since I've seen it already.  Think it will ever go lower?

BTW this was much better from Goro than Tales of Earthsea, by a lot lol.

Any thoughts on Haganai? I'm on the fence, worth $24.49?
Very funny series and well worth $24.49. The mean interactions between Yozora and Sena (Meat!) are my favorite parts. I also really love these BR/DVD combo packs since I can 1:1 backup the DVD to my media server and watch directly from BR whenever I have the discs handy.

Does anyone have any opinions on either Little Busters or Btooom?

I picked up all of the Patlabor stuff (I missed the DVDPlanet sale, so if it was significantly cheaper there, please keep that to yourself :D), Sakurasou, Humanity has Declined and Girls und Panzer.  All of which were at least cheaper than they'd be in a studio sale at RS.

Thanks for sharing. I was so tempted to grab this title a while back when I saw it at Best Buy for about $22. Glad I waited. :D

I'm just giving my honest opinion on the episodes I've seen but it's basically a harem with some really sheltered teenagers. It's random, crazy, and it really doesn't go anywhere at times. The dialogue is pretty raunchy and it's definitely an anime that you don't want to caught watching by your kids or parents (maybe all harem animes are like this these days). I'm not really into the harem genre, but I'd suggest at least streaming an episode so you know what you're getting into before buying it.

It'll be around $20 or less cheaper in 2014 ;)

I loved what I saw of Blood+ and I had no idea about Blood C existing until today. I wanna pick up everything in the blood series now. Does anyone know a place that has the first half of blood+ cheap?

Blood C is very different from Blood+. The color palette is much more colorful and Saya herself is way more ditzy than her B+ incarnation. Most of the episodes rely on Gorn until the plot kicks in for the last few episodes.

Did you guys really think Guilty Crown was that good? I watched 11 episodes and I thought it was so bad I dropped it.
I enjoyed Guilty Crown quite alot actually. The visuals and music were very well done, and though the story isn't the greatest, I thought it was a solid series.

So yes, I did think it was good and I would definetly recommend it to someone. To each his own however.

Thanks, I grabbed a copy. I guess it could go a little lower, being a non-Disney Ghibli release, but by how much? A buck or two at most, and probably not from Amazon (DeepDiscount, maybe, lol.)

Same here, I just went ahead and grabbed it because it's by far the lowest I've seen so far, and these price drops are usually temporary since it's not even a part of an advertised sale, so just going to jump on it now at the risk of it jumping back up in price randomly again.

Plus, this price is a steal. :D

I heard the film was just okay, but I would've gotten it at that price.
If you wanted a trigun movie that had a deep plot or advanced the story in the second half of the series you would be disappointed.

If you wanted a trigun movie that was basically more of the first half of the series... you would enjoy it quite a bit :p

bah i missed that lightning deal how much was it before shipping?
$22.60 was the price.

So it looks like Deep Discount shipped out all of my Patlabor stuff except for volume 4. At least I hope that's what happened because they all disappeared out of my order history for that order. :D

Only the Ending pissed me off. Otherwise, I agree with you for the most part. Haha.

Funimation posted their Black Friday and Cyber Monday Deals

http://www.funimation.com/blog/?p=2751

I don't think their titles will be cheaper than Amazon but will probably match whatever Rightstuf does.

The thing I'm most interested in is their 50% off a 12 month EVS which would be $47.70 with the discount.  If Crunchyroll does their usual sale on year long all access membership then I will be set for streaming for the year.

I wouldn't say that the ending pissed me off, but there are some things that I wish had turned out differently. It was an alright ending in my book, though I can see why people didn't like it.

If didn't already own Summer Wars, then I would've jumped on the 30 dollar pack of that and Wolf Children.

If I were interested in collecting One Piece, the mega deal would sound tempting.

The 50% off combo packs is tempting. I will wait and see what RightStuf does before deciding, however. Looking at Good Luck Girl, Future Diary Part 2, Maken-Ki, Michiko & Hatchin Part 2, and Last Exile Fam.

Hahahaha, what? People actually pay for Funi's video service? What for, the two "exclusive" simulcasts they get each season with broken English?

If you're gonna go with a shitty streaming service, use Daisuki's instead. https://www.daisuki.net/
