 Anime Steals and Deals

**It is highly recommended you check the latest posts in this thread as they will often have the most up to date deals. I will attempt to reflect these sales in the OP, but always check the latest posts.**

Rightstuf

Rightstuf runs studio sales every week, sometimes even twice a week. These range from anime, manga, and even artbooks. Prices are decent, and Rightstuf has amazing customer service. I highly recommend them for that alone.

http://www.rightstuf.com/rssite/main/

You can save an additional 10% off a majority of their items (Including preorders) by buying their Got Anime membership

http://www.rightstuf.com/rssite/action/store/item/Item?ItemName=gotanime1

Amazon

Amazon tends to offer lower everyday prices on their anime, and often run sales on Funimation items routinely. Keep track on your favorites or check your daily deal's for a possible 5% off of some based off your history on Amazon.

(Also, I'd also recommend to check out Amazon's top 100 deals in Anime Bluray/DVD as they tend to show what's popular, or what is on sale.)

DVDPlanet / Deep Discount

Known by many for their bad customer service, they often make up for it with their lower prices on a lot of their items. This and they routinely run sales specifically for anime.

I highly suggest when you order from them to only order in stock items, and not ones that are backordered. Save yourself the displeasure of having to deal with the headaches. And patience is a must with these sites.

Cheapassgamer

Maybe you will find something here on our own forums! We have a thread dedicated specifically to Anime and Manga for sale from fellow Cags.

Tempted to cancel my RS LE of Robotics;Notes but idk I do like me some LE and after the reddit ama I feel I want to support them more.

Parts 1 & 2 (BR+DVD) of Psycho-Pass S1 are down to $29.99 each on Amazon (on phone, so no URLs, sorry).

Is it any good? I'm going to wait for a full season release if so. Also, I've heard that it gets pretty graphic--is it as violent as Future Diary?
Thanks, I've been waiting for it to drop. I'm not sure I want to spend the $60 on it right now, but I'll pre-order and cancel if I change my mind..... but I probably won't.

Had no idea Super Robot Wars had been rescued. Yay!

Also really good price on DBZ. Cheaper than the Orange Boxes.

EDIT: Wahh!! Walmart won't let me order Super Robot Wars. ;_; No Yay!

Kinda glitchy atm, but if you keep clicking it'll go through, or at least it should. XD

Wouldn't go on mobile, but the full site went through. Yay again!

Also, even though I did not select Ship-to-Store and only had the one item, it still let me pick Free Shipping.

Anyone know if walmart charges when placing a pre order item or when item ships?
There's usually a charge, but doesn't go through until it ships, so it'll probably be sitting on your cc for awhile pending.

I've had things that's been on backorder for weeks before, and the charge just sat there pending, and once it got shipped it went through a day later.

A thing to note about pre-orders though that they don't qualify for the free shipping unless the item itself qualifies for the free shipping amount, otherwise you'll just be charged for the shipping for each individual item in the order, even if it's over $50 for the shipping, which is usually $1.97 per item for standard shipping, so just make sure you calculate the shipping cost into that when looking at the Walmart prices.

Hopefully Amazon will just match the prices as they have done with numerous titles in the past that Walmart has had a cheaper price on sale.

Dayum, that's some lucky stuff.

It showed it for me too, but when I got to the second to last page of checkout they lied to me. T___T

I guess my questions regarding Psycho-Pass went unnoticed, so here they are again:

I'll add another one: How is Robotics;Notes? IIRC, it was reviewed as "meh" when it was airing, but I'd appreciate a bit more detail.

I've been staring at Anohana for the past few days on Amazon, willing it to go lower than the ~$50 it's probably destined to be for eternity--do I use some of my vast wealth of Amazon credit to buy it there, or wait in the hopes of it being cheaper on NISA's store, though the discount may be paltry and I'd be forced to spend my own money? :whistle2:k
I didn't even know that was available. Adding to my wishlist. I loved that anime and even at these ridiculously inflated prices, I'm tempted. $4 / episode just seems excessive. +1 on the GTO discussion. That's an amazing show. The dub isn't great, but somehow hearing Onizuka swear in English in episode 1 with a certain set of 3 people was infinitely more hilarious than the JP version. Too bad the other voices suck.

Yes it is good and yes it is at least as violent as Future Diary if not more so. Actually I think it's more graphic. I'd wait for a cheaper price point and compilation set. Season 2 is also coming out, so I'm not sure if you want to bite on S1 or wait for a bigger compilation. Depends on your entertainment backlog I guess.

It is the PE after all, and they are rather nice, so if you don't want to pay that much just wait for the standard one to come out, but who knows how long that will be since they basically have some PE that stick around for awhile before the standard comes out, although they've been better about that recently.

I liked Robotics; Notes quite a bit. Interesting plot, enjoyable characters, never quite know what's going to happen. I just wouldn't pay those prices for it, but that's me. Sorry for the triple post. Too noob to figure out how to combine the crap.

PE? and now I'm a quadruple douche.

NO WAIT!

OMG!

THEY CANCELLED THE PE ON ME AND RELEASED JUST THE STANDARD!

WHAT??!??!?!??

I had this totally scoped out months ago, with the PE pic on their website and Rightstuf website, but they bait n switched me.

FOCK!

Not wurf it no mo.

You no a douche, just NISA. T___T

*edit*

No wait, I'm just being dumb.

It came out awhile ago with the PE, and now it's the SE, lol.

God, I guess I've been out of the loop with my NISA PEs. @_@

Nothing like a good ol' fashion freak out though, but now I have to locate that PE...

Yeah its a shame they're out of print. You could grab the individual volumes on Amazon from 3rd party sellers. Though the condition is hit or miss. Still I'm sure it would cost less than $150 this way.
they average around $6 per volume on amazon used considering there are 25 volumes it would still be over $150 and iirc volume 18 is a lot more expensive than the rest.

Damn had to order Anohana now ._. just ordered the SE. First NISA title for me though those Kimi ni Todoke PE's are so tempting.
if you get kimi ni todoke might as well get the PEs since the SEs that come out in february are going to be 55 retail with the same amount of episodes

but thats just me, get it while you can before you regret it later when the PEs are oop

on what site is it on sale ?

I so want that series, its one of my favorite love comedy show next to school rumble
It hasn't been on sale since last last year's when all three of the PEs were on sale for about $140, and then the premium sets were also on sale in prior sales before that here and there, but other than that right now they're not particularly on sale, except for maybe Vol.3 PE, which is fairly cheaper than the first two volume PEs. This is all on Rightstuf of course.

The standard editions are $40 a pop atm on Rightstuf, so it's not as bad as the NISA prices.

$146.47 in cart after $4.00 off coupon and Got Anime membership. not too far off if it was $140 when on sale.

I loved KnT, but not $140 loved. Ouch. Wow, the box art for Katanagatari is absolutely beautiful and I really liked that show *twitch* Yea, not spending $100. Can't frame that! To their credit, most of their box art is very well done.

I was thinking the same at first though this is probably pushing it to me. I still can't imagine paying this much on 1/4 a season via Aniplex USA myself. NISA seems like a good median though they are not dubbed.

I'm in the same boat. I just bought Season 1 a few days ago, so I asked for an adjustment. Is there a limit on how many adjustments you can ask for before Amazon gets pissy or bans me (if that happens)? I've never asked for an adjustment before, but I think I'm going to start monitoring the prices of the items I purchase with camelcamelcamel to save some money.

I have made like a good 15 adjustments or so since Xmas so I do not think they have a limit.

Welp, looks like I'll be cancelling my Psycho Pass PE pre order on Right Stuf. I'm okay with getting standard editions for $30 a pop and it saves me almost $40.

It's not anything new from the series, right? I'm not sure I'll bother.
I actually didn't care for AnoHana that much.
AFAIK, the movie actually expands upon the series and contains scenes that take place after it.
It basically just
gives closure to the series, as it kind of ended abruptly, so it didn't really give much resolve to the other characters, and basically talks about how they cope with life anew.
You'd probably hate it if you never enjoyed the series, or cared for the characters to begin with.
