New Thread:

This thread has been replaced by TSDT v11

Daily Deal:
Please check the Steam homepage.

Weeklong Deals:
Steam usually has week-long deals that change on Mondays at 6PM UTC. They mostly feature indie games, and may not run every week.

Sale summary lists:

Key:
⤷ indicates DLC, — specifies part of a pack, + shows alternative versions, ⚠ highlights things worth knowing, ♫ is obvious, and ... denotes a multi-pack.

Holiday Sale 2013 | 19/12/13 through 3/1/14:
Days 1-3, 4-6, 7-9, 10-12, 13-14.

Spring/Autumn Sale 2013 | 27/11/13 through 3/12/13:
All days.

Steam deals on other stores: (Related threads on CAG.)

Indie* bundle threads: (*Not always indie, nor always a bundle.)

Free stuff:
There are quite a few free games (mostly Free to Play) and mods available via the Steam platform, a comprehensive list of which can be found in this thread on the SPUF.
(NOTE: free games are not permanently attached to your Steam account like actual purchases would be. You'll need to manually download a game again from the website if you uninstall it.)

Blink Bundle unlocked the first bonus game I Have No Mouth, and I Must Scream.
I already posted some thoughts/questions about the Bundlestars stuff in that thread, but I do want to say that I'm pretty excited that Blink Bundle has come up with another game I do not own. It looks fairly old, but it might be decent. I'm also glad that's not the upper tier bonus.

Uh, I thought the sale was yesterday, ending this morning. The discounts were there for me, but games were 50% off.
Really, I just got the email a few minutes ago. That's it, I'm changing my GetGames bookmark to just GG. At this point, I don't think it will matter if I get them confused.

I'd purchase your bundle. :whistle2:
You two get a room!

From those of you who've done key drops/giveaways, what is the best approach?

I've got about 50 codes I'm looking to integrate into the community.
Well, I do drops of 3-5 codes at a time and just tell folks what I have and let them PM, crossing the games off as I give them out. It seems to work pretty well. If you're wanting to get rid of them in several large batches you may want to try an alternative approach.

Most people give them to me.
Don't listen to him! It's a trick.

I'm pretty excited to see SNK release Metal Slug 3 and at a reasonable price ($5.99 on sale). I wish they'd do some bundles of old NeoGeo games kinda the way SEGA did with the MegaDrive stuff.

The best way I've seen is to have the people quote what they want and then you PM the first quoter his key.
I guess this is probably what I'll do after I finish eating this delicious fried rice.

Don't anybody get their hopes too high up. These are mostly left over bundle keys and other shit.

It's ancient, but it's an adventure game from the good old days and plays as such - albeit with very dark and twisted subject matter. I first tried it out a couple years ago and loved it. I was glad when it got added to Steam, and even happier when I scored a key for 10 cents soon thereafter.

These will all come with complimentary pics of my penis  Seriously

*Dropped remaining codes on Steam trading board*

Everyone with an account and avatar pic is welcome to a code, as far as I'm concerned.

"Guys, if no one adopts these kittens I'm going to dump them on the freeway"

You're a monster
Red asphalt, baby.

Edit: Whenever I give away a code, I'll just edit the original list with a new game.

Thanks for the heads up on "I have no mouth" for Blink. I wouldn't even have bothered to check before I saw the post here on CAG.

Yeah, I remember bits and pieces of this game, and just how dark and depressing the overall tone was. I'm not sure if I'm willing to play through it now but... free is free, and it's a good (old) game.

Is Ironclads: Anthology up for grabs?

Edit: wait now, I'm confused. Do you want a pm or quote?

Thanks for Ironclads!

I am a fan of SNK games, I would love to see NeoGeo Battle Coliseum or Samurai Spirits Sen on steam.

Capcom vs. SNK 3 anyone? :D/

intrustion 2 pleeze if nobody else asked for it yet

One of these days I need to track a German down and try to find out what the non-ironic appeal of these ridiculous, dry, mundane simulator games is.
<Arnuld> To crush the cornstalks, see them fall before you, and to hear the lamentations of the geese who wanted to eat them</Arnuld>

I don't know how I feel about this article. I rather enjoy playing Simulation games and I am not in either of the age groups of "8-12" or "35+".

I can't really count myself towards the "hardcore" simulation fan base, since I don't even know how to operate the vehicles in half of the simulation games I own. But I have to admit I really do enjoy straight-forward simulation games like Euro Truck Simulator 2 where you don't need a PhD to operate the vehicle. Unlike ProTrain Perfect 2, where I have yet to figure out what the hell I am doing. Although I can get the train moving I have no idea how to control the train's speed or anything else for that matter. If anyone one enjoys conducting trains, I would definitely recommend sticking to Train Simulator 2014 or Microsoft Train Simulator.

My all time favorite Simulator would be Flight Simulator. I've pretty much played every Flight Simulator and X-Plane, since my father is a huge Flight simulator enthusiast (to the point that he has already built a few real life-sized cockpits of a B737 and owns every DLC ever created). I think I've invested the most time learning how to properly fly a B737, B757, B767, B747, and A340 since my father gifted me a few airplanes that cost ~$60 which don't allow any shortcut keys to be used for their operation. I remember I spent an hour pressing every button I could find in the cockpit of my Boeing 737-800 Lufthansa, and after that hour the only thing I knew how to use was the windshield wipers and seatbelt sign.. It can be a bit overwhelming at first, but once you get a swing of things it actually becomes quite entertaining!

Here are some of my recent purchases as far as simulators are concerned:

  • ProTrain Perfect 2
  • Polizei 2013 Gold Edition
  • Rettungswagen-Simulator 2014
  • Train Simulator 2014
  • Helicopter Simulator: Search and Rescue (Amazon PCDD, sadly doesn't work for me)
  • Airport Firefighter Simulator (Amazon PCDD)
  • Euro Truck Simulator 2 Gold Edition
Eventually I will also get "Der Omnibussimulator: OMSI 2", but it was just released so I will definitely wait a while before picking that up. I have yet to go near any kind of Farm or Agriculture Simulator, but from what I've heard they are supposed to be extremely entertaining. But for now I think I am going to stick to the more casual simulators such as the Silent Hunter and and OpFlash/ArmA series.

They don't really differentiate simulator types in that article but in my mind the vehicle simulators have a longer history and aren't as silly as Woodcutter Simulator or Street Sweeper Simulator.

I don't think people really make fun of the vehicle simulators.

Except if you are Asheskitty and you pay $30 for one. Then we make fun of you.

Spoder doesn't want any of the games, but he would love one of those complimentary penis pics.
