There are quite a few free games (mostly Free to Play) and mods available via the Steam platform, a comprehensive list of which can be found in this thread on the SPUF.
(NOTE: free games are not permanently attached to your Steam account like actual purchases would be. You'll need to manually download a game again from the website if you uninstall it.)

I had a slim chance but lost it because well... they say username or email... well it doesn't let me log in with my email... only with my username... I thought I was mis-remembering my password.. and the facebook-login-redirect took too long.

Bleh the Alienware page said to follow AMGaming but I guess that was what you guys were talking about before.

I'll have to see if Facebook has mobile notifications or something. I'm all Asheskitty when it comes to social networks.

I knew nothing about twitter notifications until the first batch of codes. I set them up for these giveaways and, while I was at it, for Indieroyale. The biggest problem I saw was no email notification--text only. So I had them go to my little-used Google Voice account and have that forwarding texts to my email.

 
I think unless you can downvote the tags, it'll quickly become useless. Like the Fighting tag, they have Street Fighter and King of FIghters but there's also Arkham Origins and Sleeping Dogs.

I think the idea is that the "most popular" tags are displayed so if people over time continually keep voting on then that will show vs other less tagged ones. But if a particular game doesn't have many tags yet then it seems they'll all show.

It's one of those idea that seems good in theory but it's rather naive to not see the potential for rampant abuse and miscategorization. But this is Valve we are talking about and I often get the impression they don't actually use their own site.

Bohemia sort of did it with the 'new' UFO Afterlight. But they eventually fixed it after much screaming from the community, and after mostly everyone had gotten the 'new' app ID through the Humble Bundle anyhow.

 
What's everybody's thoughts on the indie royale bundle? I've wanted Bleed for awhile, but I'm feeling the rest of the games don't quite make the game worth 4.40

As a sort of consolation prize, you can also make a cheaper LP3 All DLC package by getting just the Survival Pack and the three Map Packs. All the content of the Assault, Freedom Fighter, and Punisher Packs are included in the Survival Pack. Not as good as yesterday's deal, but it's still $4.96 instead of $6.95.
