New Thread:

This thread has been replaced by TSDT v11

Daily Deal:
Please check the Steam homepage.

Weeklong Deals:
Steam usually has week-long deals that change on Mondays at 6PM UTC. They mostly feature indie games, and may not run every week.

Sale summary lists:

Key:
⤷ indicates DLC, — specifies part of a pack, + shows alternative versions, ⚠ highlights things worth knowing, ♫ is obvious, and ... denotes a multi-pack.

Holiday Sale 2013 | 19/12/13 through 3/1/14:
Days 1-3, 4-6, 7-9, 10-12, 13-14.

Spring/Autumn Sale 2013 | 27/11/13 through 3/12/13:
All days.

Steam deals on other stores: (Related threads on CAG.)

Indie* bundle threads: (*Not always indie, nor always a bundle.)

Free stuff:
There are quite a few free games (mostly Free to Play) and mods available via the Steam platform, a comprehensive list of which can be found in this thread on the SPUF.
(NOTE: free games are not permanently attached to your Steam account like actual purchases would be. You'll need to manually download a game again from the website if you uninstall it.)

Bundlestars has Cubetractor on sale for .99 cents.  Combine that with the $1.50 BundleBandits (Hero Siege and Nightmare from the Deep) and you've basically got an Indie Gala Capsule minus the Dead Sky, which, most of you probably wouldn't play anyways.

I think, and this is just a guess, that the initial strategy of Humble including past bundles as a bonus was to get the word out about their bundles. I mean what better way than to have people give out copies of their old bundles to pique interest.

Also, to whoever did hat CD-Key inquiry on my account, I lurked whatever game you were checking fair and square so stop being sore about it!
/like

Also quite simply they didn't have much else to offer. (And I'm not sure how easy it was to get devs/pubs onboard the bundle-train back then.)

I'm actually sort of interested in Dead Sky... will hold out hope for a decent HH/gift package from that.

Dead Sky (& Hero Siege I guess) are actually the actually the only ones I'm interested in.. haven't decided what to do about the bundle. I'm sure they'll end up in some other future bundle if I do pull the trigger though.

Dat gut.

I'm torn on whether to like or not people dropping Fez keys...

  • They're dropping a key.

But PCs are for spreadsheets. His words have been twisted into: PCs are only for spreadsheets and not gaming and you are all pieces of shit for using PCs to game.

Poor Phil Fish.

There's no such thing as bad publicity.

It's an easy way to stand out amongst the million other retro 8bit puzzle platformers.

Hm. Actually Realms of Arkania's the only thing I'm interested in/don't already have from this one. Pretty tempting at $3.50 + whatever oddball conversion to USD currency fees there are.

EDIT: OTOH, it might be worth scouring the Steam trade thread for a loose key. I would literally have to give away or sell everything else in this bundle, which does make it kind-of a crappy value.
I'll probably pick this bundle up, as I already have Realms of Arkania I'll pass it your way ;)

Boots up Thief on low settings, takes 15 seconds to even see video and my processor is maxed out 100% for all four cores. (Core i5 I might add).

Nope.avi

I will wait till they fix this game.

Well due to his success I would think a pc is actually for 2 things, spreadsheets, and programming 8-bit lookalike games for consoles, good luck coding up fez on an xbox

I keep clicking through and feeling dirty and then being relieved when someone else beat me to it and I didn't actually get Fez.

DISCLAIMER: My dislike of Phil Fish comes from multiple sources besides the spreadsheet comment including but not limited to his behavior in Indie Game: The Movie even while cameras were rolling, multiple internet tantrums and meltdowns including an unapologetic attitude afterward and his decision to take his toys and leave the sandbox and cancel Fez 2 because a few people were mean to him on the internet.

As it is merely my own personal opinion based on multiple observations, feel free to agree, disagree, ignore it or make a snarky, sanctimonious comment about it.

What did Warreni ever do to you?

Is it even in a playable state yet?
Sort of. I runs passable on a 780 and Haswell CPU. There's only sometimes a placeholder where text should be instead of most the time, it's in Germlish ESL instead of actual German, hasn't crashed lately but is tedious as hell, character models are merely odd and creepy instead of truly frightening.

It's by no means what I would consider to be a good CRPG (and I've been playing since some of the Ultima and Wizardry etc days) but it's not a pre-alpha at this point; it's just a bad game. And it only took them 6 months to work their way up to that.

I think you also forgot this:

http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/2012-03-07-fez-creator-phil-fish-declares-modern-japanese-games-just-suck

Yeah. There's that. To paint an entire country's games with such a wide brush so disrespectfully from someone who knows what it's like to make games? 失礼
And to say it to a Japanese guys' face, right on the spot - freaking cold.

And to make a game that's obviously influenced by Japanese games from the past.

Sorry, Phil Fish - I happen to like a good amount of past & present Japanese games.

It's great to see more games from there come to the PC of late.

And I'd LOVE to see more hit the PC.

Except the Lightning trilogy. They can keep that one.
