Anybody else here sign up with VMC? They pay you via paypal to beta test AAA pc games. I signed up a few weeks ago after seeing it on GAF and not thinking much of it.

Well shit, they just sent me an NDA and i signed it and sent it back, and then got the DL key.... and damn, they weren't kidding about them being AAA games.
I'd rather work at McDonalds, and yes, I was a paid onsite tester for Blizzard while going to college. It was awful.

That's cool but this is like a few hours at a time and only if you feel like doing it on a project by project basis, not really the same thing. I probably wouldn't want to play blizzard games for money either.

I was semi-interested until I saw that it's only multiplayer games. Probably mostly lowest common denominator FPS type ones too. I'll pass.

I swear I am like the only one (no Mooby doesn't count) around here that doesn't go gaga over Bundle Stars. I have half that stuff and the rest is meh, like the ultra low res 90s shovelware 7th Guest and 11th Hour.
typically i think bundlestars bundles are decidedly mediocre, offering quality over quantity...there's a few games in here i want though (stalker and shadowman) that may make it worth picking up the bundle for me. if i do get it, it'll have been just the 2nd bundlestars bundle i've ever gotten

To those that have done it, how much did you get paid?

If they end up giving crap titles I want to know if it is even worth my time to play them.

I don't mean to sound snotty at that idea of making money for playing games, but my time is just super limited, especially as of late and if I have time to play a game, it better be a good one!.... or I better make enough money to justify playing one I dont want to haha

Just use my patented school of maths and stuffs logic to determine if a bundle is worth buying. There are only 2 ways to look at bundles in the Brut method, shit games you don't have and shit games you do have. A bundle is a "buy it" if there are enough shit games you don't have to make the price less than $1.00 per steamcount for the bundle total price.

I've been curious about this for a while, but with how little it actually affects me, I've never bothered to look into it; but does anybody know why every page of the Steam website outside of the store is displayed in Portuguese for me?

I think it's Portuguese, anyway.

Did you by chance click on a link that someone else posted that led to the Portuguese steam store? Cause that would do it. You can fix it back by adding /?cc=us (or whatever your country code is) to the steam store URL.

You mean you can't change the language? Just go up to the dropdown in the upper right next to your avatar and select the third option down and pick the language of your choice. Or am I missing something?

I believe I've tried that before and it ended up defaulting back to Portuguese, though I may be misremembering. I'll try it (again?), anyway.

For the poor soul who's missed Jolly Rover the previous 10 times it's been bundled: 35258-2EBP5-3XDY4

and

Jazz: Trump's Journey (Desura): 2E7S9-16TXR-I3A3D-MT57N-GVKV2

Just take them, please

I tried to grab Jazz, but it had already been taken. Just as well I guess. I'll probably end up picking up that bundle if they do a Happy Hour. So I'd only end up with a dupe that I'd have to drop here.

Thanks anyway.

Da fuk is that game. Secondly. Who cares?
You never heard of World of Darkness IP (for RPG's about vampires)?

REALLY?

What matters is the World of Darkness IP - b/c CCP owns it; and b/c WoD holds the Vampire franchise.

And if CCP sells off the IP, maybe we'll FINALLY get Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines 2 or some kind of spiritual successor to it.

EDIT:

Even though we really unfortunately never saw much of anything about World of Darkness MMO, I would've liked to seen what could've been done w/ this IP in a MMO format - especially since it was supposed to also focus on the politics side of things for vampires.

I look forward to the kickstarter

Eh? Until... probably less than two years ago, I don't think I'd ever heard of the World of Darkness IP, either. If you missed VtMB, it's really not that difficult to not notice that it exists as a video gamer.
Ummmm - what about Vampire: The Masquerade - Redemption?

GoG sells it.

EDIT:

It would make sense for Activision to take the IP, since they published VTMR + VTMB...

...but, since they let both of those out way too early - would we really like them to take the IP?

Oh vampires

Teenage girls might have played that

Not for me. I almost snagged Shadow Man on GOG the last time it was on sale and I've been biding my time on Heroes of Annihilated Empires too.
Yeah. Besides the two I already had, 7th Guest and 11th Hour were probably the two at the bottom of my interest list for that bundle. Stalker and the Desperados games interest me the most, but Runespell, Tribloos, Heroes of Annihilated Empires and Shadow Man all look pretty decent, too.

I'm curious about this too. The image I have in my head is that you either make a $30 credit -- which you can then apply to the $60 game you're testing -- or you make $15 in actual cash.

MysterD I got two words for that vamp MMO that's become your new flavor of the minute. Always Online.

Seriously, nobody cares about yet another MMO to fail. It happens all the time. They're in a rut. They think they can all take WoW, dress it up in Star Wars/Star Trek/Vampires/Skyrim/randomweeabooshit/whatever clothing and make a bajillion dollars over it. It doesn't work.

Sure, I would've liked to seen WoD MMO get finished, since it been forever in the making and whatnot...

...but, that is NOT what is most important to me.

But, maybe you should re-read the lines that I said, which are the MOST important lines to me:
