This thread will maintain a list of all current and upcoming sales and markdowns on the Xbox Live Marketplace / Xbox Games Store for the USA.  YMMV in other regions.  If non-US sales are listed, they will be marked with their applicable region(s).

Please note:

  • You cannot currently buy any Xbox 360 content on xbox.com using your account balance, you can only use an active credit card or PayPal. To use your balance, you must make purchases on your console.  Unfortunately, even "purchasing" free content through the web site like trials requires an alternative method of payment tied to your account, though adding an empty MasterCard / Visa gift card that is registered for online purchases will work.  Xbox One games can be purchased on the web site with your account balance, but DLC cannot.
  • Some sales are intended for Gold subscribers only, as noted within each section.  This requires being a paid subscriber or within a console-activated "1 month complimentary Gold trial" account.  Neither 48 hour trials, 14 day trials nor free weekends qualify.
  • All known sales and information on sales should make their way into the OP. Major Nelson usually updates his blog with new sales information every other Tuesday.
  • ALL OFFERS ARE SUBJECT TO CHANGE! No information within this thread can or should be construed as accurate (or still valid), therefore ...
  • Always verify Xbox Live Marketplace prices before your purchase!
  • Spend wisely, have fun, and enjoy!

we all know your gonna get the $400 xbone soon anyway tyler, just go get it and play STF and Titanfall kk.
Why spend 400 bucks on a One, when you can get a 360 that plays both games?

Wow. They really did listen to all the complaints. They're really turning it around, I'm impressed.
Last year, Xbox One did a 180 with the DRM changes. I want to say it's doing another 180, but that would mean it was back to the same spot it was last year. The 180/360 joke doesn't work anymore! :(

Microsoft is giving some good pre E3 foreplay this year. The new head of Xbox seems very in touch with his audience.
Yes the Sony Fanboys are saying Microsoft blew their load lol. The news is best coming from official channels, not leaked or picked up from a Brazilian retail site that possibly just puts shit up for no apparent reason and during the slow periods of the year anyways.

So I managed to clear a lot of space from my hard drive deleting a bunch of game videos I had over the years; Making of Max Payne 3, Gears of War 3, Deus Ex: Human Revolution and a bunch of old E3 trailers. Downloaded Saints Row The Third, searched for it because they didn't have it up on the dash yet, and cancelled the download so all set for future acquisitions. Tore off the plastic wrap of my copy today, figured it's time lol.

I definitely feel this way. Watch Dogs, Wolfenstein, Murdered: Soul Suspsect, The Evil Within, Destiny, Alien: Isolation, Destiny, CoD Advanced Warfare, Dying Light, etc. There's just sooo much cross gen games for 2014, why should I make the jump? For better graphics? Heck, the released games cross gen is pretty long too - Titanfall, MGS V: Ground Zeroes, Thief, Halo Spartan Assault, PvZ Garden Warfare, Max the Curse of Brotherhood. The list is just huge.

I'm good with my 360 till 2015 easy

Don't get Xbox One until you are ready to leave 360 behind. I'm struggling trying to play all 360 games I got on sale. I might be able to get back into 360 if I could use X1 controller or dashboard wasn't slower than a duck eating candy on Tuesday.

Finished STF. I had to change up only using Rambo strategy for the last boss. Hardcore mode unlocked, so now I'm going to beat it again if I can still go back and play normal mode to unlock characters. The cutscene after final boss is great. Probably the first game in a long time that I had fun from beginning to end.

Replays are saving now too.

I won't be leaving the 360 any time soon but I want to take advantage of the GwG for the X1 while I have my Gold on the 360 and getting the X1 for $430 at Frys with the Kinect is hard to pass up. This way when I do go to X1 I'll have a backlog of games already.

For those that have the PS+, has Sony duplicated a game they previously offered?

Possible date of external hard drive support for the Xbone that could be announced at E3???

http://www.xboxachievements.com/news/news-18131-Xbox-One-External-Hard-Drive-Support-Teased-by-Developer.html
There's a couple good 1TB and 2TB drives made by Western Digital that are USB-powered only and are pretty inexpensive ($50-$60 for 1TB and $100-$120 for 2TB) that I think would be good candidates for external drives on the XB1. Seagate makes a few in the same vein as well for around the same money.

It's happened before but it's extremely rare. A few of the old Sonic/Sega games have been available multiple times and non-crossbuy games like Jet Set Radio and Machinarium have been available on PS+ for both PS3 and Vita at separate times. That's about all the duplication there has been.

Hmm that's perfect timing for me on Halo 5, that's when I was thinking I will buy a new console. I can prob get a halo console bundle in fall 2015 now
This has been my thinking since the release. Black Friday 2015 has always been my target date to buy the One...although the recent news of the $399 console and GWG did have me second guess it for a bit. Still can't make a decision but I'm in no rush.

You can check here, but it hasn't really happened since they started the IGC.

I know Titanfall looks better on One, but what about STF? Does it look that much better?
It's a whole new game on Xbox One. Everything looks so realistic that I can't believe it's a game.

It's like most electronic devices, it's if you want to participate with the "latest and greatest".

I can see your point here, all valid and I think it'll just be a personal preference thing. The following is not targeted towards you but I wanted to quote your post to say yeah that's how I felt the beginning of this year.

Hell if I COULD afford a kick ass PC rig, I'd be gaming on that, as this gives you the best visuals and community for most games, but the reality is that with everything else I have to pay monthly, ahh being 30 is fun, and the fact that it'll be outdated to play the "latest and greatest" game down the line I'll go with a console that'll be supported well after its shell-life.

So, I'll compromise with a Xbox One, an affordable yet powerful but not as powerful as a custom PC rig kind of gaming/media machine. The PCs I've bought in the past have all been heavy performance/media PCs, so the talk that continues that Xbox One is just a media box with games still feels a childish remark imo. Truth is both the PS4 and Xbox One are PCs for the living room, or bedroom/basement whereever you game, that let everyone game, not have to worry about hardware/software compatibility or having the latest video drivers/anti-virus software programs running in the background.

It's not a huge leap now, it's still the beginning but I'll tell you coming from Battlefield 4 on the Xbox 360 (acquired during last year's BF deals) to the Xbox One's Battlefield 4 (acquired from Microsoft Store deal) is like playing a new game all over again. 64 players and GameDVR option in X1's Battlefield 4 is ssssooo f'n awesome. I also double dipped on Plants vs Zombies: Garden Warfare, as I bought the 360 version before I picked up my Titanfall Xbox One bundle (this was before knowing about the game bundled in with a $450 system news/plus me winning a Forza 5 code in a promo), and playing PvZ:GW on the Xbox One is visually stunning. It still hits me everytime I start up a game and start walking about, holy shit this is silky smooth (60fps) and the lighting and textures are vivid. Eh, I say if you're good with your 360 no rush as I'm still going through my Xbox 360's backlog (way more valuable to me than trading in my system), just my experience and two cents on the matter.

I'm gonna guess STF doesn't have a drastic visual difference from 360 to Xbox One due to it's simplistic 8 bit retro art style.

SoD is def. awesome XBLA and many folks like it.  But my cheapass is not ok with the current price, I'll wait till it drops to $5.

P.S. Hey guys if anyone needs Gold Trials there is a nice promo going around, hit me up & I'll provide details.

Cheese and crackers Super Hardcore mode is hard. If any character dies, they are dead for the rest of the level unless you can save them. More characters you have unlocked, the easier it gets. Much replay value.

Is Saints Row The Third not free just yet? I'm getting errors trying to grab it where XBL says my CC info couldn't be retrieved even though everything seems to be correct on my end.
I was getting this same thing yesterday when trying to get the free Coca Cola prop. I had nightmares off the Oman wars, thought I was banned. glad to hear I'm not alone.

Yep. I just don't have the cash right now nor do I want to make the jump since I have a massive backlog. GwG is awesome but horrible at the same time lol And I know that when I do make the eventual jump to the X1, the games will look amazing and the system will have all the bells and whistles of being out for a few years. When I play games like Super Mario 3D World or Donkey Kong Country Tropical Freeze, they look AMAZING. So I know the game for Xbone will look more spectacular too.

Yeah that's one thing I keep hearing about Mario Kart 8 and especially being highlighted with the slow motion replays and what not.

So haha, I FINALLY found my Alan Wake CD case! Apppppppaarrenttly according to the achievement stamps the last time I played it was 12/8/2010. Hahaha, sheeeit.

It was funny I was like I hope I can get back into this game as the game was loading up and the hint screen said if you forget where to go run towards the light! Check!

This has been my thinking since the release. Black Friday 2015 has always been my target date to buy the One...although the recent news of the $399 console and GWG did have me second guess it for a bit. Still can't make a decision but I'm in no rush.
I want one w the kinect anyways and those have been on sale for close to that $400 price point for a while. I'm crossing my fingers for Black Friday 2015 Xbox One Kinect bundle w Halo 5 and 3 months of gold for $399.

So now that I have my Saints downloaded, should I play 1 and 2 from my backlog first, or just jump in?
You can probably skip 1 I say because that was when the game was trying to find it's identity, so start with 2 so you can better familiarize yourself with the characters and enjoy 3 just a bit more. Also 2 had some of the best mini games, F.U.Z.Z. in particular.

That NTKRNL guy over at NeoGaf has been pretty spot on with his "leaks". One of the items on the list is that we'll not only see Halo 5 next year, (which was confirmed today), that we'll also see Halo 2 Anniversary, and the other Halo games rereleased on the One; all before Halo 5 hits.
Let's hope he knows what's up this time as well, then. Halo 4 was a bit meh, but the whole saga (except the spin-offs maybe) in HD? Yes please!

I still have most of the halo combat evolved 360 version to beat still lol
I didn't play it yet. To me, Halo's campaigns didn't really get that good until 3. And since the multiplayer was just pretty much Reach, I'm still holding off for it to be cheap. I hope that if they remake Halo 2 and 3 in HD (as it seems), they leave the multiplayer as it was. Tiny changes to make it a bit smoother for modern day standards, okay. But those multiplayers were awesome, from Reach onwards not so much.

Probably to play an upgraded version. I mean why buy Blue Rays when you can watch some muddy ass DVDs? This is exactly why MS needs to abandon the 360 if they expect to catch up to Sony.
Do you mean abandon as in abandon completely? Or abandon as in not have cross platform titles be a constant?

Don't forget that Sony, even with their Blu-ray gaming system, still supported the PS2 for a long time, as it was still very, very profitable for them. Microsoft is still making money off of the Xbox 360 from Live, off of people buying and playing titles and from people using it as an entertainment device, so they definitely shouldn't abandon it too soon. It still has a great value to them.

I mean abandon cross gen titles. I know the install base is astronomical so its just pie in the sky thinking. But I'm curious to see how certain games on the One will look when a dev team can allocate all resources to one platform instead of two. Arkham Knight and Evolve are gonna be gorgeous, for example.

Yeah if you watch any of Rooster Teeth's The Patch podcasts they said expect to see next-gen (current-gen) only games in 2015 and current and old-gen titles for 2014. Seems like a year's about time to week off of old-gen I guess.

Unless Rocksmith (or Rock Band with your own guitars - that woudl be awesome) comes to XB1, I have no need to upgrade. I'm sure I will eventually. If we non XB1 peeps can still get the free games, I'll probably buy one on Black Friday, since I'd already have 8 games or whatever to play right off the bat...

I'm just waiting for my friends to get an Xbox One, (I was the first to get one. I'm the "responsible" one, who did college, got the good job, etc; while they were potheads). Anyhow, the 360 is still much played with them, and when they do finally get a One, I'm hoping for some good games to play with them. Everything seems to be getting pushed in to 2015. Not that that is a bad thing, my poor wallet needs a break this year anyhow.

I don't have an X1 because I went to college and have to pay off loans.

STF will be my first 1k on X1 if I can ever get "They Are Looking". Any tips? I tried first level and the jetpack Dino one. I've read jetpack one is easiest, but I hate that level.
