I saw that but the 'sale' is lame so I'll wait.
Agreed @ lame sale.

I have Obscure 2 from Retail (never installed, never played)...

...but not the original, oddly enough.

Will have to wait for better sale for original; or both, if cheap enough.

EDIT:

You just noticed? They've been on Steam since March..
Either I missed it; or I somehow forgot and my system crashed.

so you're a defective toaster?
And a detective toaster.

Not a good one, either.

I don't always get the hint, clues, or anything of that sort.

EDIT:

I still have a backlogged copy of Venetica in the box. I got it free from NewEgg last year.
Oooh, I have mine, too - but got it from GameStop, a few years back (April 2012).

DRM-FREE, too!

I got part way into it - never finished.

You make games sound like bad sandwiches.
It's not.

I actually liked the game.

But, like many games I never finish - I can't get past a certain part; and/or something else I bought got prioritized in my way to the point I never returned back to the unfinished game.

I'd say it probably was more of the latter than the former.

Two isn't really "a few," I would say.

It doesn't have disk-based DRM?

And if you didn't know, it's on GOG's List of Games That Are DRM-FREE @ Retail:

http://www.gog.com/forum/general/list_of_drmfree_retail_games/page1
As a lot of us are here for our love of all things DRM-free, and as not all of us go only digital...
1983 called. It wants it PC Gamers back.

*Edited to add: And Venetica is kind of an anomaly because the German publishers still living in the 20th century didn't get the memo that Steam was a thing until 5 minutes before they went bankrupt. They put it on Greenlight finally but then they went tits up.

Guys, I have a confession to make: This is still in my backlog...

Bunch of bundled games on sale on Steam this week. Let's get this started:

Guncraft ($1 bundle at Humble)

Two Worlds 2 ($1.80something bundle at GamesRage)

Two Worlds 2 DLC ($1-tier of previously stated bundle at GamesRage)

Litil Divil ($1-tier Horror Bundle at Groupees)

Desert Thunder ($1-tier Flying Bundle 8)

Anyways, this week has a few things I'm actually interested in... any comments on these?

Weeklong Deals
Pool Nation - $9.99 $1.49
Booster Trooper - $4.99 $0.74

Primal Carnage - $14.99 $3.74
Euro Truck Simulator 2 - $39.99 $19.99
Earthworm Jim Collection - $19.99 $9.99
Action Indie Pack - $14.99 $1.49
Geneforge Saga - $19.99 $3.99

Random Deals
Titan Quest Gold - $19.99 $4.99
Dracula Trilogy - $19.99 $9.99 [customspoiler=Includes]
[/customspoiler]
I wish Pool Nation was $1 already, and that Primal Carnage was actually Primal Rage (even though it looks kinda neat).

I think you meant....

I analyzed the fuck out of that book's first two pages in high school.

And never read any more than that.

Not to interrupt the giveaway, but the GamesRage Topware bundle just unlocked both Two Worlds games' soundtracks.

The interesting thing is that the description for the Two Worlds 2 soundtrack gives away one of the mystery games.

VUxMx4Y.png

It's 3SwitcheD (also in Flying Bundle 8).

There's 4 games left to unlock and one soundtrack to unlock. First game is pretty much confirmed as Jack Orlando (also in Flying Bundle 8) from the teaser image they provided, and the last soundtrack and one of the mystery games will be 3SwitcheD based on the mistake I caught.
Not sure when it happened, but I noticed today that they unveiled the second bonus "game." Sorry Bobby, it's TW2's Pirates DLC.

EDIT:
Damn it. My connection's too damn slow today.

Crossposting from the Gala thread, since I think this is the cheapest Euro Truck Sim 2 has been.

So apparently Euro Truck Sim 2's back down to $4.94 (or $4.54 if you use Gala points) on the Gala store.

The last time, it got marked up to about $20 a few hours later, and I thought it had been a glitch, but now I don't know what to think. In any case, it says the sale lasts for the next ~14 hours, so if anyone's interested...

Pool Nation is worth at least double what it's currently going for, don't be an idiot and pass it (again).
But I already own it on console. :p Besides, it's been bundled already. Only a matter of time before it happens again.

Yeah, I saw. Which means I wasted 295 Tremor Coins, but oh well. Still leaves 3SwitcheD and one mystery game (they're out of DLC to bundle).

I'd get it in a heartbeat if it was the Gold bundle. :whistle2:(

Except more and more all that old crap is getting dumped those wonderful classics of yesteryear are being released on Steam anyway.
Depends.

Besides the obvious GOG DRM-Free part, sometimes GOG gives more extras goodies - if people are into that.

Sometimes, games w/ issues get fixed in GOG version; not on Steam.

Of course, sometimes Steam-version has no CEG and no DRM.

Sometimes Steam-version gets updated.

Maybe, Steam-version got extra MP support and/or Steam Achievement support.

Who the hell knows.

Of course, if you're a real die-hard and love a certain game and don't mind double-dipping - nothing wrong w/ owning both on GOG + Steam. ;)

Sweet! Pennying-in for JPEGs.

Seriously, though, I'm half-tempted to penny-in just to post the JPEGs in thread.
Someone on Reddit said the art is free on the artist's page. I try to confirm it but I don't know the artist's name and I even want to give them a hate penny for this travesty.

Can humble just take a 3 month hiatus and go to rehab or whatever it is they need to do to get their shit together?
No because they took a shit ton of money from investors and now they have to answer to them.

Probably here... taken down very recently... the google-cached version is as-of yesterday.

Similar one, but still up

Hah, yeah that first one WAS in the Google cache up until yesterday. They took it down for the 'bundle'. Sneaky fuckers.
For posterity... since I don't expect this cache link to work for too much longer.

Is there any advantage over the free Xpadder I use from time to time?
Xpadder went paid years ago, fyi. A lot of people seem to prefer Pinnacle over Xpadder.

I know, but I kept using the last free version that was available. I don't use it often, just for DOSBox games that need a gamepad, and I'd like to know if it's worth getting over Xpadder.

I'll dig up some reviews I guess. Maybe there's a demo.

That Pinnacle deal is great, I don't know if I'll ever need to use it again but I think I'll buy it for only $5. I used a trial version for several weeks with Mass Effect 3 and it was very versatile. I feel it's better than Xpadder but I won't guarantee it.

Quick google took me to this comparison of the different softwares but I haven't read it: http://www.xpadder-vs-pgp-vs-j2k.com/comparison.html

I didn't realize it had until a month ago when I was looking for a controller mapping for Shoot Many Robots.

I used to use the Logitech Profiler (free) (for Logitech controllers) a fair bit, years ago.

 @ Bioware for not putting controller support into PC versions of their newer games that were so blatantly obviously designed with consoles in mind.

I once read a comment by a Bioware employee on their forums when questioned why Dragon Age 2 didn't have controller support that they didn't want to "ruin the integrity of the PC version". Yeah, too late for that.

I bought Pinnacle, great deal. I remember the forums were very helpful and the developer was around a lot, I would come up with requests for whether I can do some complex action with it and there would always be some solution, it was very versatile. Not sure Xpadder is quite as versatile. Never tried joy 2 key.
