Just wondering, why did certain people cheat? It's not like most of the rewards were difficult to earn anyway. Only thing it took was time.
It's easier than downloading and installing all of those games on a non-gaming PC. And this is America. If you're not exploiting something, you're not being American. ;)

I ended up earning around $40 with SAM, and I was banned in the first week of June. I was drunk one night and decided to SAM all of the reward cheevos I could in a 20 minute time frame. It would have been like $15, which got me red flagged. I'm sure a lot of lurkers here are more discriminate with their SAMming.

So, they accepted my ticket asking for the specific activity a few hours ago, but no response thus far. I don't think they're ignoring it, but they're taking their sweet-ass time compared to earlier because I guess it's a non-priority.

We'll see how this plays out, I guess.

Grinding the cheevs hasn't bothered me but I'm somewhat of a cheev whore.
More or less the same here. I was a achievemable whore back when I was a console peasant, so it translated kind of nicely with this program.

Considering what the program's turned into, I wouldn't have minded a ban so much if I had gotten to spend the credit I had + all the credit I had earned, but not tracked up until this point. I'd have been happy with that, just getting all the credit I had worked for. :whistle2:(

Because life's not fair. Why do good things happen to bad people?

I also can't help but think that if people didn't cheat the system...
Then we'd be living in a utopian fantasy.

Honestly, with bans being handed out for a while now, I think hoarding piratefire bux is one of those poor life choices.

And clearly your a pirate. ;)

Surprise surprise, my ban reason request ticket has already been responded to. Amazing how quickly they answer tickets that don't involve giving people money. :wall:

Basically, they gave the usual about unusual activity and the account getting flagged. Gonna ask for the specific game(s) so maybe I can offer some sort of proof to the contrary.

A point of note is they said this:

If you do not agree with this policy then please feel free to contact us again however it is unlikely the decision will be overturned.

If it's unlikely then why suggest it? What circumstances would allow you to break ToS? :whistle2:k
Someone got banned in the past and unbanned (not here), so mistakes and misunderstandings do happen. They can repeal the ban, though the odds of them doing so are questionable.

I'm glad I've resisted becoming a playfire whore. All that effort, and they ban you when you're no longer useful.
Considering Bobby's the only legit (I think) user who has gotten banned so far, eh. I've had fun with most of my Playfiring and I've racked up upwards of $75 of credit. To each his own.

I'm very glad I became a PlayFire whore. I've earned about $50 in rewards since February by playing games I've mostly enjoyed. I could have earned more if I'd had more time or played games I didn't enjoy so much.

Part of the problem is I've had to file two tickets so far for batches of missing credit since I started using Playfire in April. Each time I filed, they ended up giving me a sizeable amount (somewhere around $40 each).

I intentionally broke up my tickets to avoid getting too large an amount to avoid raising suspicions, but it looks like my efforts may have been in vain anyways after this last ticket they fulfilled.

And here I thought it might be safer to have them manually approve my credit rewards as opposed to them noticing the system tracking so many at once.

Restart as a patrician vassal in one of the republics (require the dlc), and choose the oldest guy among the 5 available. Once in the game, look on the republics tab (top left tabs, the last one) and see if you're not in the lead in the election race (represented by highest respect score and age factors heavily into it hence why you want to choose an old guy to start).

If you're not in the lead, note down who is for that particular start and restart as him. Spend your cash and attempt to assassinate the current doge (25% chance or so when I tried). You are now the new doge. If it fails, just restart and repeat.
Again, thanks for the guides -- I managed to get them all in a couple of hours. Most of that time was figuring out how to play CK2 (though I did find myself just playing a bit beyond meeting the requirements in some scenarios) and use its hyper-busy UI.

I got lucky on this one. Once I figured out how to play as a Patrician (try Venice -- and be sure to select one of the vassals and not the Doge) I actually got elected while I was waiting around to earn enough money to off the current guy in office.

I've only earned about $15 so far, but that's mostly been from "play the first time" credit, with a few achievements thrown in.  I love the idea of being able to earn credit by getting achievements, but its hardly surprising that people would cheat the system for profit.

If anyone is still working/planning to work on a couple of the CK II ones, just got them and found two easy starts:

Till Death Do Us Part--I started as the ruler of the Holy Roman Empire on the Stamford Bridge start, was able to get about 200% intrigue (forgot the exact name) on the wife thus making it fairly short before the plot popped up and she was dead. Just in case it needs to be added, make sure to go to the intrigue tab and invite a bunch of people to the plot to get it to happen, most of the Empire seems interested in helping.

Mr. Doge-Elect--On the Latin Empire start, the current doge of Venice is 97 years old. Start as the 69 year old guy in the vassal list, and wait (can throw in some campaign money to make victory more secure if you want). Think it took a couple months for him to die for me, if you are unlucky you could die first but I'd doubt it (and if so, start over).

This happened to me too, also in Venice. Took several attempts (probably the best part of an hour or so) to pop the achievement but I felt kinda proud when I did.

Hell, I actually played some CKII while doing these achievements, and it was actually kinda interesting. I might even actually return to it and actually play it again at some point.

Actually is my bad word of the day.

@BobbyTastic.

I know you like fair play. It's a shame they banned you since you are earning those rewards legitimately. I hope all can be cleared and you can get unbanned. At least they should explain why they think you cheated the system.

Wish you the best.

Yours Truly, Tomasety :)

Yes. BF3/4, Dead Space 3 and Mass Effect 3 has them.
My comment wasn't about whether or not the games had achievements, but if Playfire was now tracking them, which they are not to the best of my knowledge. That is, I could find no place to link Origin accounts and no mention of Origin rewards.

Yeah. Didn't meant to quote you. Sorry for confusing.

heh sorry, I was just referring to the fact that the PlayFire rewards are starting to suck so I'll be playing some Origin games (to ensure I don't waste possible future rewards)

looks like it's time to stop playing games for awhile.  it's ridiculous that playfire can't fix their shit.

sorry to hear about your banning bobby

Now do one of Julio Cesar where all the sperm get through.

Twas like Julio Ceasar wasn't even on the pitch today, so figured why even have him in the picture.

Though in all seriousness I feel terrible for how the Brazilians went out, that gotta hurt. But, I'm happy that Germany won :D/

I don't believe anyone has talked much about the Skulls of the Shogan rewards, but i figure I'd post a bit about them in case anyone wanted some tips:

Devil Inside
You will likely get this just playing through the game, as all it requires you to do is turn your general into a demon by eating three enemy skulls. You can do this as early as the first level.

5476062e844ee6ff9998931333a94a9f8d5b335d.jpg
Were you using that?
Another one you should get just by playing, this requires you to haunt an enemies fox shrine, which you can do during the first level after you pass the first gate. Just let them haunt a shrine then go over and take it.

c8fe89f5acad1556867ffa5c59729485fd365a0d.jpg
Outfoxing Death
You'll need to first haunt a fox shrine, and then turn that fox into a demon by eating three enemy skulls, after which you unlock the ability to revive fallen teammates. Just walk over to a friendly unit's skull and you can revive them using 100 rice (so make sure you don't spend it all first). It sounds a bit more complicated than it is, as unless the enemy is aggressively eating your skulls you should have enough leeway to get over to one and revive it.

Web Master
You just need to win an online match to get this one, which is super easy if you have a friend to play with who can just let you walk up and kill your general. Otherwise you'll just have to be good enough at the game to win legit, though I don't know how many people are actually playing online. I'm happy to help people get it, so if you've already got me added on Steam send me a message and I'll help you out (does not apply to lurkers).

The Bone Collector
This is unlocked by earning 15 golden skulls in levels, which you get by completing special objectives (of which you can do 3 per level). There's no real strategy for this as each level has unique challenges, but I would just recommend going for one or two per level instead of all three, as some are really difficult if you're trying to get them together and others actually force you to replay a level multiple times to unlock them. There are 75 or so skulls total in the game though, so even if you only get 1-2 per level it shouldn't be too hard to get 15 eventually.

Hopefully this helps someone, though the achievements are mostly self explanatory. Either way I'm glad I took the time to check the game out again, as I'm actually enjoying it a lot more than when I first tried it and will definitely be playing more of it.
Good stuff. If anyone still needs to unlock - Devil Inside , Outfoxing Death or Were You Using That? - can unlock them by using the mul tiplayer option. Thread here. It's much easier since you can have complete control over both armies. Just make sure to choose Multiplayer > Skulls on the Couch > Deathmatch/ 2 Armies/ Unlimited Time/ Atleast 100 Rice > When selecting color of army choose "Add Hot Seat Player", which will give you control of both armies.

So I got a reply from Playfire this morning.

Basically, they ignored the whole "What activity was deemed suspicious?" question and said two things.

1) That they came to this decision by manually investigating my account after a user report

2) That they reviewed it again and were standing by their initial decision.

And thus ends Bobby's Playfire Adventure.

It was a decent run. Honestly, with the transformation in the program, I wouldn't be that upset over being banned if I had been able to cash out my previously earned credit. So I'll just have to cope with losing out on a decent amount of pierat bux.

Best of luck to the rest of you, try and spend your credit at the earliest possible instance and be careful, you never know who's watching.

Sucks to hear that dude. Looks like there's some asshole who gets off on false accusations. I'll exhaust my credit as soon as I can!

It's crappy they won't point to any particular rewards that they think prove their point so you can defend yourself. Especially if they "reviewed" it.

I think they just see a large dollar amount in rewards and decide that's enough proof.

Sorry to hear. I still think they're making a huge mistake doing stuff like this. So since your appeal didn't work out -- do you care to say if you were actually doing something?
