Humble Bundle Thread

Perhaps tomorrow will bring HIB #14.

Some hopeful guesses at candidates (based on what's sold DRM-free + Steam key in the Humble Store):

Banished

Octodad

The Inner World

Among the Sleep

Neverending Nightmares

Outlast

Ether One

Rogue Legacy

Spelunky

Gods Will Be Watching

Shadowrun Returns

Schein
Thanks for Moobying it

I wish people would stop Moobying bundles so Mooby could go back to just meaning being unreasonably pessimistic about everything (that isn't a fifteen year old European RPG).

What so Mooby about Mooby? If he Mooby every bundle, it is not like these bundles will certainly be moobied. Are you sure you just being unrealistically moobied about the whole situation? btw.. we...are...mooby

I was going to give Mooby shit for not walking the walk, but I looked and he's got (barely) under 500 games. That's respectable for someone from this site who isn't a total newb and claims to be picky.

I'm glad I'm not the only one this happens to. I just thought it was time to reinstall windows and refresh my OS. It's extremely annoying and even game updates tend to freeze Steam quite often. Or perhaps I really do need to reinstall... :whistle2:k
Nah, it's Steam. It happens on the all my steam installs on a few Windows computers, two Macs, and iirc on my Linux-Steam as well (I rarely redeem keys while on it).

Steam freezes with the OAuth method too, but it seems shorter to me.. and you can redeem multiple keys at a time without having to wait for it to unfreeze using that method.

Yep... actually the freeze isn't as bad on Mac as it is on Windows, but still freezes. Good point though that even OAuth freezes steam.

But to emphasize, with OAuth the steam-shitting-its-pants freeze doesn't impede your key-redeem spree.

...heck, give me a multi-key entry box...

Your daughter is a terrible hoarder.
I try to teach my niece and nephew but they FAIL so hard at hoarding. I'm like 'Why don't you get this? It's on sale.' and they're like 'I don't want that now'. And then a couple of months later when some fucking Youtube 'celebrity' talks about it they are all about it then and buy it at full price with their allowance money saved up. Then I just look up at the sky and yell KKKKKKKKKKKKKHHHHHHHHHHAAAAAAAAAAAANNNNNNNNNNNNNN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

So wait.  If Valve is removing the feature altogether, then how is Humble saying that all old purchases will still need to use oauth?

Is Valve keeping the feature but only for Humble, or is Humble going to screw us out of old purchases?

Looks like OAuth still works with humble. Just redeem an old steam key. They say all purchases before Jan 12 still requires OAuth on the blog.

Yeah, I know it works for now. I'm asking why it works. Has Valve not turned it off yet, or is it some kind of deal with Humble to keep it going for legacy purchases?

And either way, why isn't IndieGala still able to do it?

IndieGala changed everything back to the keys system and gave everyone who had unused games Steam keys. Wished Humble would do the same so we don't have to worry about OAuth in the future

I am more worried about how Indie Gala will handle this issue than humble bundle.  Let's face it, humble bundle has better customer service and support.  Maybe I am being naive but I am sure that humble will sort it out.

Indie Gala has already handled it though: all games show keys now.

Do the old links no longer work then? Because I really don't feel like updating them all in my damned spreadsheet.

Some warning and grace period would have been nice.

Actually I just tried it now and it does still work. Sort of. But it's a mess. Ah it'sa me'a Indie Gala.

Basically, the link still works. It asks whoever uses it to put in their email, which you can still do. Then it emails said person with an Indie Gala link. Only now the link just straight up has a Steam key. It doesn't do the account login. So far so good BUT

The person who sent the gift link normally would have something showing it was used or whatever. Now that person can still access the key too.

So basically, it creates a duplicate indie gala page with the same key and both the original owner and the new recipient now get access to the same key. And there's no way the original owner can mark off on their Indie Gala page that key was sent to someone else or used. So if you forget later if you gave it to someone or not you won't know.

I swear Papers Please was yesterday's daily.
The daily that just keeps on daily'n.

I'm really surprised that Humble decided to ring in the new year with a whimper and then more silence.

They're basically the Valve of the bundle scene. Like, "here's Forced for $10, fuck you"*

*proceeds to sell thousands of bundles.
