CAG PSN Gamesharing #9 - Find/Create a Gameshare Group and Gameshare FAQ

There're codes like that for Xbox, etc. courtesy of Bing, but I don't think I've ever seen a PSN code for under $10, barring perhaps promo stuff.

EDIT: I was wrong. GS Power-Up Rewards does still have them, for 3900 points.

Bought me a used VITA. The rear touchpad sucks donkey balls. The games suck mostly - i only speak about all the crossplay/PS+ games.

I hereby name my Vita "THE LITTLE BLACK INDIE GAME MACHINE".
If you have PS+ (and haven't decided you hate it on the PS4), you should try out Binding of Isaac: Rebirth. I'll admit that the pixel-art graphics don't fit quite as well as the original's, but it's still a fun timewaster with plenty of content and rage-inducing losses. If you like shooters I found Killzone Mercenary to be better than I was expecting, and pretty good looking at times to boot.

Pretty much this. Discussing whether we should promote locked spots within the community is perfectly fine, but the moment everyone starts accusing each other of their shares coming from unknown sources, I would say it's starting to get pretty hostile.
I don't think anyone made accusations. People just wrongfully associate argument with negative vibes regardless of if it is reasonable or not. People shoving something like this under the rug or acting like it's a topic that has to be diffused immediately is how people get taken advantage of. Nobody seems to care until it happens to them. I feel I made some pretty good points and if people wanna ignore it then whatever. But nobody made accusations

Here is my testing results, purely objective, full of hatespeak etc pp:

  • Pix the Cat: Good funky great music aaarrghh wtf why are the controls start to lag if i am on lv20 and on FEVER. FK.
  • The Swapper: Not my kind of game (read: It sucks)
  • Luftrausers: Awesome. Now i own the game on PC/PS3/PS4/Vita. Trophies still bugged though.
  • Hotline Miami: Awesome. Same as above^^
  • Titan Attacks: Would never pay a cent for Galaga remix. fk that.
  • Resogun: Wtf is this. Me no like. Looks pretty though.
  • Minecraft: Drop some acid, makes the "game" more fun. Also, all my houses look like shit. I cant Minecraft at all.
  • Little King Story: Goofy translation. Good game.
  • Soul Sacrifice: Atrocity. What the hell does this game want to be. Fk. I regret the download time.
  • Fifa Football: Surprisingly good! And i never play football games. Manager mode is awesome. Trophies bugged :(
  • PS All-Stars Battle Royale: If you want this crap, drop me a line. I may even ship the game to you for free, my level of disgust is that high.
  • NFS Most Wanted: Same as PS3 version. May be good, may be bad. I say, above average. And bad soundtrack.
  • Dragons Crown: Yeah. No. If you want to look at wobbling drawn tits of monstrous proportions, then this is the game for you. A hint: You can also watch real porn on the vita without problems.
  • PIxeljunk Shooter: Ugly crap.
  • Pixeljunk TD: Surprisingly good. Not all games with Pixeljunk in the title are JUNK indeed. HUEHUEHUE.
  • Street fighter X Tekken: Pretty, but shallow and laggy. And what the fuck with the gems, like seriously. If you ever try online, get some lube first. A whole bucket is a good amount i think.
  • Uncharted Golden Abyss: Finally a game where everything is nice. If you dont have it, buy it.
  • Rogue Legacy: Good, hard, rage inducing and ugly. If you can take it, play it.
  • All the LEGO Games: Shit. If you see one, you saw all.
  • Kick and Fennix: Too tight jumpcontrols. Hard is good, but ALMOST FKING IMPOSSIBLE is pure rage. Not good.
  • Joe Danger: Ehhhh...5minute fun. Try for free, buy if you like.
  • Rainbow Moon: Bad story, good grind game for long train tours. Dont buy orbs from sony!
  • Muramasa Rebirth: Cant install, looks pretty though.
  • Sonic All-Star Racing: Crap in my humble hating opinion.
  • Rayman Origins: I hated the Rayman games on the PSone. And i love this one. Maybe thats because i got older and senile or because they finally decided to make Rayman games not only pretty but fun, too. Great game. Really.
  • Touch My Katamari: What the fk is this game. I cant even...O_O But, the chaos is FUN. Like, REAL FUN. Try it :)
  • Jax and Dexter Trilogy: Same as PS3. Good controls, pretty graphics, nice sound.
  • Sly cooper: Same as above.
  • FEZ: Dungpile. Tries too hard to be a hipster piece of shit. It works, it IS a hipster piece of feces. Dont waste your precious memorycard space.
  • Velocity 2X: Woaaaaahhh prrreetttyyy. And fast. Good game.
  • Unit 13: Nice looking shooter.
  • Oddworld: Strangers Wrath: Too much weirdness for me. Cannot form an opinion.
  • Moto GP 13: Very good if you like bike racing. Otherwise, pass.
  • Dynasty Warriors: Same as above. Ill pass on this one.
  • Sine Mora: Strange name for a damn good game.
And now to my favourite part of the Vita: Remote Play. Damn, this is good. If the game which you are streaming supports controls (aka not the shitty L2R2 L3R3 on the rear pad) you can actually play a PS4 game WHILE SITTING ON THE WHITE THRONE OF POWER. Glorious.

Hmm so if you already have a ps4 what you're saying is don't get a vita cause the only game you won't have played would have been uncharted. Got it. Heh, I've become such a 3ds fanboy since I got one. It's sooo good

I'll probably get a new 3DS in a couple of weeks, but no Amiibos. My first purchase will undoubtedly be Mario Golf
If you don't care about amiibos just get a refurb 3ds xl I think they're 140 now. New 3ds ain't significantly better imo. 3ds load times are already near instant on the old xl and only one exclusive names for the new 3ds. Only advantage is being able to see 3d at a wider angle. I didn't think id enjoy the 3ds as much as I do. Put more time into new leaf than any ps4 game

I was going to buy the new 3DS XL but they were sold out everywhere, and it's not like I live in a small area. Average 700,000 population and not a single one in stock anywhere. I'll wait for a Black Friday/Cyber Monday deal I guess. Not paying $300 for one on eBay & it's not like I'm short of games to play. I still have a backlog of 200+ PS1/PS2/PS3 games I haven't played/finished. Will probably get a Wii U first anyway just because Xenoblade Chronicles X looks so amazing.

3DS has a bunch of good first-party titles, plus some great RPGs and SRPGs. Vita has mediocre RPGs but some good console ports, great VNs (although cloud saving and lack of game-breaking glitches aside, an inferior version of Virtue's Last Reward), plus much better indie support. They've both got a bunch of great games, I just wish Atlus would step up their Vita support instead of saddling it with shit like Persona 4: The Dancing.

The 3D on the new 3DS is leaps and bounds better than the original model. If a person doesn't use or care about the 3D, then absolutely just grab the original XL for less.

EDIT: But, there will be games released that won't run on the older model.

Vita is dead bro. No install base = nobody gonna make games for it. Sony announced nothing new for it at ps experience. Its got like 2-3 games that aren't already on ps4 worth playing. Even guys that slaved over vita like Greg miller claim it's dead. Main reason I went with the 3ds

I won't argue that retail support, at least, is a lot lighter than it should be. But there's still a hell of a lot of indie support, plus we're finally getting a portable English version of Steins;gate. And you can't tell me you're not excited for Hatoful Boyfriend on Vita.

Don't get me wrong, I don't think we should just take whatever someone has to offer and ignore where does it come from, however I believe that vets like QDizzle and Raiborg have earned themselves enough trust around here that we don't need to get suspicious just because Raiborg offers cheap timeshares. Also people may easily feel negative vibes when in the middle of a discussion about locked spots half of your elaborate post suddenly changes topic to Raiborg and the source of his shares.

Only thing that interested me about Vita is remote play, but that can be done on nearly any rooted Android device. No need for an Xperia phone or Vita for it. Even my old Galaxy S3 has remote play running flawlessly so I can poop and play Super Stardust Ultra without missing a beat, lol.

Clearly you weren't around for zaspera. He had more rep than either of those guys and one day broke bad and screwed a lot of ppl over out of nowhere. Anyone will tell you he was a made man, fully trusted up to that point.

I also made a second post explaining how I wasn't calling out raiborg, merely using him as an example, and I never once called out qd wtf

Vita games released so far this year in NA: 19

3DS games released so far this year in NA: 2

Vita is dead. I might as well throw mine out.

I absolutely loved my Vita. I lost it or it was stolen. I've missed it much. If Sony would just pretend like it existed, I'd buy another one.

That's very much false there are new releases on the eshop every week. Plus quality over quantity. Who wants to play games like titan attacks or pix the cat over majoras mask and monster hunter 4 lol

Quantity does not equal quality. If Sony actually put some power behind the machine and believed in it, they'd have a hit. As it stands, fans can't have too much faith in the system with the lack of attention it gets at events.

Eh, i dont know. I still have my fat old psp and it works like a charm. Just thought i go with the times and get me a modern mobile gaming console. I was wrong. Sad day for me, because i cannot stand anything from Nintendo, it is just not my cup of coffee.

Hey Sony! Listen here, heres is free good marketing advise for the PSvita:

1. Pay some factory in Taiwan and start mass producing cheap memcards.

2. Re-release psp/PS2 games. Like, a LOT of them.

3. Watch people buy Vitas left and right and cry for even more.

4. ???

5. Dance around a campfire and sing the Leprechaun song.

@raiborg (and p much everyone else should read this wall of text as well)

He's merely saying that offering locked slots promotes practices that should not be allowed because it's a situation where a cheapskate preys on the poor to get a game for a significant discount. Naturally that's going to tick people off that play by the rules.

All parties in the group benefit at the time (one far more than the other two), but any future resell owner isn't seeing any benefit for the past/current risk on that account due to a locked spot. A future purchaser of that resell slot doesn't fully own the account they paid for. And if the new owner changes the pass (as all ps4 resell owners should when they buy a resell due to one active slot) then the locked spot bitches they lost access to something they paid for and demand payment. And when you refuse payment, nobody knows how to handle the situation. Do we screw over the guy who properly paid for the locked slot, or do we screw over the guy who just paid for a slot that he didn’t know had a locked slot attached and expected full control of the acct? If we demand the buyer of the resell be refunded for misinformation and the seller truly didn’t know, how do we punish them if they refuse to refund? Simple answer is that we can’t, so why bother allowing something we can’t enforce once problems arise?

You're forced to accept the risk without getting any discount bc of said risk, potentially on any ps4 resell you attempt to purchase, so long as we allow locked spots. The inital group is getting a game cheaper at the expense of future buyers of that resell. Total bs considering we continue to exist based on the ability to resell past games. It's incredibly hard to sell accts with locked slots on them, so I assume most ppl would just lie about it and feign ignorance since they can’t be punished after the fact and they already have the buyers money. If you do this, you’re a cheap shithead and you should feel bad.

Here's another great example of why we shouldn't allow them. Raiborg, you always seem to have new releases to timeshare (how? we never see you join groups? but i digress..) You could easily just be using locked spots yourself and then renting out the resell slot. You would still get to play the game using the locked spot while other people play on the resell slot and pay off your expenses. That's gaming the system in a really shitty way. If you're doing $2.50/wk rentals, within a month you would have paid what a phantom did for that share, still played the game during that month, and can further timeshare it/sell it outright on top of continuing to play it on either the resell or locked slots. There's no incentive to buy a phantom in this regard if we allow locked slots. Just shell out $10 more and you’ll benefit far more. If you take away the incentive for phantoms, less and less groups get filled and people stop coming here as a result. You have more people repeatedly asking for resells outside of groups and the topic becomes unbrowsable.

Also, why else would you buy a game on day one and not play it and then rent it out on day one for so cheap that it would take months to make your money back? If you truly were doing it to benefit the community those games would be in the library rented out for free. You refuse to give a solid answer to this anytime it's brought up. QD is exempt from this bc I can see that he's not playing the games he's renting out since he's on my FL. His rates are also more than double. I don’t exactly know his motivations either, but I can say for sure they’re not sketchy. Now while you could be telling the truth, there's no proof in front of us since nobody knows your PSN because you operate from the shadows. My point is If it's hard for me to trust a thread vet with stuff like this, imagine how hard it is to trust semi-regulars or newbs

Took me an hour to type out and edit. Hopefully someone agrees with it. There's plenty of reasons why locked spots should be forbidden.
Can someone please explain the difference between a phantom and a locked slot? I thought they were the same? And why is a locked slot looked down upon but phantoms are not? I'm really liking this sharing thing as it seems to benefit all parties. I just want to be totally informed as toy risks etc in case I want to buy and share as well buying shares. Thanks!

Subjective tastes are subjective tastes. And throwing out two tiny titles against two big hitters is a tad unfair.

PS - Persona 4: Golden alone is better than anything on 3ds combined :p

I know, hurts me, too. I was really in on Turk's PS4 phantom but CAG didn't notify me of the PM and someone else snagged it.

I just don't bother much with PS3 anymore but what the heck, sign me up. Drop me your PayPal, Turk. It might take me some time to download and go through the list but, like you said, I appreciate that you don't mind.

Let me take two games that didn't even come out this year on Vita and compare them to the two biggest games in 3DS.

And Pix the Cat is an awesome game, you really should play things before passing judgement and just assuming something is crap because it's an indie game.

Oh and I played Majoras Mask when it was on N64.

I'll respond to the rest of your post later, but for now:

Ohhhhhhh shit, we have a winner :whee:

I've been holding the contest for a few months now. I was beginning to think no one would ever win it.

I am about to send you your prize, but one thing:

I don't recall it ever being brought up. If someone other than you did it bring it up, let me know so I can send them the credit instead.
How come when you call someone out on something, you demand a public response for everyone to see, but when your methods are questioned, you dance around the issue and don't have to practice what you preach?

Oh and last thing before I go to bed (triple post!!!):

How come we tell people it's not cool to make a profit on shares, and that we're not gamesharing as a business and to make money, but then we have people renting out the same games for years, well after they've paid for the cost of the game, and are clearly turning a profit on them at this point?

How was it not organized? I did it the way I did so that anyone interested could see each game according to platform. Someone who doesn't care about PS1 games? Why should they have to scroll thru them to find what they care about?

Oh and last thing before I go to bed (triple post!!!):

Not the same. Thats risk and reward as opposed to a quick guaranteed profit turn.

The buy the game and expect to timeshare it out. They very well may not ever pay the game off by sharing it over the course of the next while. They may end up not even timesharing it at all and losing money. Thats risk vs reward. Good on them if they make a few bucks for their efforts.

Whereas, the guys buying shares and instantly flipping them for a profit have very little or no risk, and its pretty much just a douche thing to do.

Responses in the wall of text.

The future resell owner would be getting the slot at a reduced rate. If the initial resell ends up paying $25 for their slot, the next resell would be paying that much or less.

A future purchaser of that resell slot doesn't fully own the account they paid for.

Same goes for cross-buy groups. Potential buyers should be made aware of other owners before they buy.

And if the new owner changes the pass (as all ps4 resell owners should when they buy a resell due to one active slot) then the locked spot bitches they lost access to something they paid for and demand payment.

They would know there was another owner before buying. Changing info after having that knowledge would be theft.

If a member were to sell a resell and not mention a locked slot owner was attached, they would have to repay the locked owner.

Already answered. You make it sound like locked slots would be on every group. They would only be on groups that chose to use them.

What if I am?

You would still get to play the game using the locked spot while other people play on the resell slot and pay off your expenses. That's gaming the system in a really shitty way.

No trophies, no save data, required to be online and unavailable when PSN gets unstable. It's more that renters are paying for the advantages of a primary slot rather than paying to play the game.

If you're doing $2.50/wk rentals, within a month you would have paid what a phantom did for that share, still played the game during that month, and can further timeshare it/sell it outright on top of continuing to play it on either the resell or locked slots.

I haven't charged more than $1.50/week and I sell phantoms for $20. Again, you're looking at it as paying to play instead of paying for a primary slot.

There's no incentive to buy a phantom in this regard if we allow locked slots. Just shell out $10 more and you’ll benefit far more.

That's the setup now without locked slots.

Because I'm a boss?

If you truly were doing it to benefit the community those games would be in the library rented out for free.

I'm not running a charity and renting them out myself allows me to decide who has access to it, but also makes it so if something goes wrong, it'll be my fault.

You refuse to give a solid answer to this anytime it's brought up.

It's never been brought up. I recall you hinting at it, but you didn't name names, so...

QD is exempt from this bc I can see that he's not playing the games he's renting out since he's on my FL.

Why can't he be using the locked slot? But as before, so what if he is?

His rates are also more than double. I don’t exactly know his motivations either,

The same as any other renter? Recoup some of the initial cost why also providing members with an alternative?

but I can say for sure they’re not sketchy. Now while you could be telling the truth, there's no proof in front of us since nobody knows your PSN because you operate from the shadows.

My point is If it's hard for me to trust a thread vet with stuff like this, imagine how hard it is to trust semi-regulars or newbs
Again, if you *really* need that extra $5 you’d get from a locked spot, just friggin timeshare the game
You're using the $10 pricing, but there is no rule saying it has to be that much. With the $10 locked slot, it's not just $5 for the resell, but $5 for the phantom - you know, the ones getting the short end.

Don't get me wrong, I don't think we should just take whatever someone has to offer and ignore where does it come from, however I believe that vets like QDizzle and Raiborg have earned themselves enough trust around here
No such thing as enough trust. If someone does something shady, they did something shady. It would be surprising if the member in question was a long time/highly trusted member, but to say 'X couldn't have done this' because of perceived trust is wrong.

How come when you call someone out on something, you demand a public response for everyone to see, but when your methods are questioned, you dance around the issue and don't have to practice what you preach?
Care to specify where I have demanded a public response for something without giving some amount of proof? In this case, the only 'proof' stated is 'Something doesn't feel right. Explain yourself.'

Hisashiburi dana, Jabroni-san.

Nothing wrong with profit. The problem comes when other members are affected by the pursuit of it. Bought a share from a user for $10 only to sell it to someone for $15? You prevented someone from saving $5 for no reason other than personal gain. On the other hand, let's say someone bought a game on an account during a flash sale, but no other members were in the group and the buyer decides to sell later down the line: Does the buyer have to sell at the sale rate? No. It would be great if they did, but there is nothing wrong if they don't, since their original purchase didn't negatively affect anyone.

Gamesharing as a business is when the owner has no intention of playing the game themselves. As long as other members aren't negatively affected, I don't see the issue here. There is one member here who has admitted to selling for money. While it would be in poor taste if that member prevented regulars from filling groups, what if someone is looking for a slot and no one has it but that particular seller?

How was it not organized? I did it the way I did so that anyone interested could see each game according to platform. Someone who doesn't care about PS1 games? Why should they have to scroll thru them to find what they care about?
Wasn't alphabetized.

[PS4] NBA2K15 - $29.49

Resell $19

SmoothJazz

Phantom $11

Looking for host too.
Didn't Rolandino1 join your group already?

Didn't Rolandino1 join your group already?
He can't host just like me that's why he quit.

Anyone interested in making a group of Dragon age and Shadow of mordor? both are in sale and I will take the resell spot. If host has plus then it will be I think $5 more cheaper.
