Destiny (PS3/PS4) Official Thread

Pretty sure the PS exclusives will have a Year 2 equivalent, just can't remember where I read it.

And ditto on the Gally-BH-IB nerfs.  I think they're gonna try to win us over with new exotics and if they fail, they'll create updated versions of those three weapons and make them part of a future expansion

 
Haha yeah professor I was looking at the trophies I needed for destiny and the salvage one was one so I figured I would try a few matches and it was so bad
 
I was just poking fun. I know it isnt always fun. Whether its lag or shitty teammates. Ive been in so many control games where I had 6K-10K score and still lost because of bad teammates. Lol.

That might leave a lot of AFK players though. Im sitting on 35 rumble wins but the game mode drives me insane, especially if i lose right at the end by a few points. Maybe with 2.0 update will help make things better. But i use last word a lot lol. Also sitting at 40 salvage wins. Wish doubles would come back next week, cos normal salvage takes too long. 10 salvage wins and i can be on stotches level.

 
7 want to play some gears? I suck at the game though. Just started the campaign today. I never really liked one that much. It was the rest that won me over so I dont think to much has changed over ten years lol.

 
Well, since it's on the front page of resdit and Bungie has said they're always reading reddit, that'd be kind of dumb to get rid of your disc. There's no doubt they've seen it already and I'm sure it'll be fixed sooner rather than later.
 
Is it possible to get though POE 34 with two lvl 34 players carrying a lvl 33? I have yet to get an etheric light and I really want to get one before TTK drops. And yes I know once that happens most of my old stuff will be dated but I will like that's my only chance to hit 34 by this weekend.

Only reason. I ask is because I tried last night with some LGFers but it was two 33s and the 34 guys kept leaving because we were getting smoked on wave 4

Worst case scenario is that I break even by trading in the game and buying another copy for the same price if/when it gets patched. Best case is free* ~$10, which I can put towards TTK.

So not really that dumb at all.

*not really free, but w/e

Well to be fair I was dying...a lot haha. I'm not an expert player but I'm usually way better. But it seemed like every time I showed my face to either a wizard or knight it was instant death.
 
I was at work during the stream, so I just got done watching the recording. Court of Oryx seems like it could get old pretty fast and I really wish they would bump the fireteam size up for it. I'm guessing we'll end up seeing a lot of people trying to get 2 teams spawned in together the same way people do to set up crucible matches anyway. I wish they would just bump it to 6 and save us the hassle. That would still leave room for random people too.

Yeah, you're going in a level below so you can only really take one big hit. The 2nd hit will usually kill you. It sucks but you just gotta be safer about things is all.

Just got a FR so I'm guessing it's yours and added you

 
A one-level gap in Year 1 between player and AI was a huge difference. The Year 2 Combat equation is based on Light now, so don't sweat a 41

So grind for pieces that give you enough light. I don't get it, if that is the case why not just cap it at 40?

Apparently the way the Court of Oryx works is the same system WoW, Diablo and many other MMOs have done. Guess I never played those (must stay away from Diablo; otherwise my life will go away)

Sorry didnt see this message till late last night when we had a full team. Im not really great at this game either. Sometimes i play well, then other games it seems like i can put as many shots into a guy with my gnasher as i want and he wont die. Im also seeing a bit of lag, like getting headshotted after i go back behind cover or a wall. Maybe my gnasher would work most consistently if i had a decent interenet speed.

Also nuclear I just got a email from gamestop that said get $20 towards taken king when you trade in your vanilla destiny copy. $20 for destiny is a lot these days I would do that lol.

I just saw that in the main deal thread, very tempting. Never done a "trade in towards X game" promo, wondering if I can cancel the pre-order (like a day later so its not obvious), and still get the $20 credit? If I can find some credit movers to Best Buy instead, TTK would only be ~$28 after GCU.....

Finally finally finally got matched up with some good people who accepted my invite to party up. If it wasn't for the maintenance, I think I would've finished off salvage today. Instead I'm down to just 20 games left.
 
But if i play crucible ill rank it up and get a package, dont think ill get any TTK guns, armor or shaders from it, not until the 15th. Bannerfall looks like you are fighting in the tower.

Incomplete bounties will be auto-abandoned on 9/8. Incomplete exotic bounties will be auto-completed.

So I get that Thorn grimoire finally... for free?

Beat me to it. Rift and Mayhem open to everyone that has Destiny and downloaded the update. Only thing missing will be the new subclasses.

The Crucible Preview Event will take place from September 8th to September 14th. Go and get yourself an early taste of some Rift! And follow it up with a heaping helping of Mayhem!

They also extended the Moments of Triumph deadline to 9/14/2015

As promised, full patch notes will be revealed next week. Based on this preview, our Live Team has some last minute suggestions for how you might best spend your final moments in Year One:

  • Complete those Year One Bounties
  • Don’t delete characters or dismantle items just yet
  • Try the Year One campaign again
  • Jump into the Crucible for some new action
  • Try your beloved Auto-Rifles again
  • Destroy remaining Wolf Packs and loot their chests for Ether Keys
  • Complete your House of Wolves Grimoire as it applies to hunting in the wild
  • Complete your Moments of Triumph [time extended – read below]
Don't know why we would want more ether keys if the gear is pointless. But would want to make sure I got all the grimoire for HoW. Anyone know of a quick way to figure that out?

And did you see the auto-rifle comment ;)
 
You might get new gun drops...remember last time when they patched before the expansion new weapons started dropping in crucible. I got a party crasher and matador early...at least I think I remember that happening...

Well maybe i can sacrifice one of my three characters to play some pvp. Especially if you can get new weapons. I could always level it back up before the 15th.

Crap when did they say that? I think I have like 2 exotic bounties and a bunch of other bounties I was carrying around

Holy crap, you don't have to do elder cipher anymore to get those exotics, they have a chance of dropping from the POE chest. So if you get it first try, you luck out. Or you could do 100 POE runs and never get it.

I have at least 2 characters with the cypher that varicks keeps trying to give me. I wonder if this will be completed into the weapon instead. hmmmm

 
If I have played Destiny on PS3, and I buy the Legendary Edition w/ TTK on PS4, will all my characters/guns/vault transfer to the PS4?

Or will I need to start fresh?
