Humble Bundle Thread

LOL that made my day!

I DO have a gaming PC, I just use my MAC for everything else. Forgive me fellow Steam brethren.
I used to be like you, but then I realized that pc horror stories mac fanatics like to tell haven't really been true for over a decade.

Sent from my mac using bootcamp running Windows Pyrate.

Hurtworld is a lot more recent than Rust was though. And The Forest is a single player experience so it's not really in the category of the rest. ARK is dinos. There is enough difference here. But you guys pass on Hurtworld and then get it in an Indie Gala in 5 years and complain about it being dead.
lets be honest, you are going to play 10 hours tops of hurtworld and never play again, just like ark.

if you read the recent reviews, hurtworld is already dead

Glad I skipped this one. Hurtworld is some dollar-tier multi-player only fodder. No idea why they think it'll attract sales.

The game started off great, that is before the Russian hackers and the server issues. The game seems forgotten by every good aspect of the community and the devs, but it had great potential just like every other early access game.
Nice.

Game developed by 'Bankroll Studios.' Appropriate.

I guess the 10,000 very positive reviews on Steam mean nothing?

Anyway, Gilby you need to play The Forest. It's the best game about crash landing on a remote island with monsters ever made. No real end game when I last played it, but fun for a few rounds.
Has it made any progress since being in Early Access for 2 years? I'm guessing its worth playing in its current state, but it kind of looks like another one of those EA games that will stay unfinished.

This is my first monthly bundle and I'm just happy that they were all games I didn't own. Rocket League is awesome and it was only a matter of time before I bought The Forest.

I'm sure the other games are just fine and I look forward to spending the rest of my life not playing them, but always knowing they are there.

You know, I haven't played it in about a year so I can't say. It was very playable when it was released.

So another early access game gets included in a monthly bundled. I had predicted The Forest would get bundled soon. Perhaps Subnautica is soon to be in the same category.

Hmm.. I've been monitor PA: Titans for a while after the steep discount here and there just a few months post-release (33% then 50% then 66% and 80% on Bundlestar 4 pack).  Today, look like the chance of PA: Titans coming to a regular bundle just rises up to 10x. :D/

I think Uber is hurting for money after their little scam.  When you rip your fan base off, the internet won't forget  :whistle2:

Disappointing bundle overall. I did want the forest but everything else I either don't care about or only moderately wanted. Won't be buying next month, zero interest in hurt world. I do think it's odd they picked that game to promote, it's not nearly as marquee as past feature titles, wondering if that's indicative of the quality of next month's bundle as a whole or maybe they're being sneaky

I don't really want Hurt World but I feel like if I don't order next month's the rest will be shit I want and then I'll be annoyed. Ugh, stupid surprise boxes. I blame Poopees for this shit.

Im almost certain this will happen. Then again that's half the reason I ordered this months bundle as I didn't really want Rocket League, and I only wound up with one game I really wanted

I spend next to nothing on bundles now, so even if a monthly is meh, It's better than the alternatives.

At least these games are good, for the most part.

In the same boat, if Hurtworld is the unlock then the collective quality of the rest of the games has to be higher than past bundles right?  Right???

Maybe I can pawn Hurtworld off on some sucker in the cesspool or something because it looks pretty awful.

I was thinking potentially the opposite...if hurtworld is what they're using to promote the bundle the rest of the games might be horrible

Were Mad Max and Alien Isolation the early unlocks for their respective months? The early unlock for July looks like garbage to me but I'm not sure if the early unlock is always the headliner for the monthly bundle since I only just recently escaped from the oppressive life of console peasantry.

Early unlock has almost always been the headliner in all of the monthlies so far, although Wasteland 2 wasn't an early unlock and that probably would've been good enough to be a headliner. Rust also wasn't an early unlock when it should have been one..

Hurtworld is by far the weakest early unlock. Imagine if Hurtworld was headlining any of the past bundles instead of the original headliners and imagine how that influences your perception of the overall quality of the games in the bundle. It just seems so out of place

At least Groupees sells is greenlight early access pre-order bundles for a dollar. We know the games are going to be terrible, they might as well be cheap.

So I just got back from vacation and noticed the extras from the June Humble Monthly and the preview for July. Seems like July might actually be the first month I am not happy with. I owned dungeon of the endless from June but I wanted Rocket League so that alone was most of the value. I guess July will be the test for the monthly. If it disappoints and August preview looks similarly sub par I will probably quit doing it for a bit.

Happy with June, Rocket League+DoTE+The Forest, with a couple games I probably wouldn't buy but will probably try now that they were included (Wasted and CatGirl).

Not expecting much out of July with Hurtworld headlining, at best I might knock a few of the shittier/weird games off my wishlist but doubting it.

I think I'm just going to cancel for now and then try to get any games I want from it from the cess pool or Steam gifts. I did that before and ended up paying like $8 or so for most of the games minus the headliner (which I had) so that's fine with me. I just really don't want Hurt World unless it's like in an Indie Gala Happy Hour cheap or some crap.

I ended up doing this months at the 11th hour... Mostly cause I could use a copy of Rocket League for a friend but most admit I'm fairly happy with the bundle but with paying full price and having no desire to play/backlog another Early Access survival game (and one that's almost as blocky as Minecraft) I'll be doing the same as you next month.

I beat Cat Girl Without Salad today. Pretty clever take on a fairly simple shmup. Probably took me about an hour, but I thought it was really well made. It does unlock another mode when you beat it which I haven't tried yet.

When you finish it, the final boss says something like you're going to be tested with 6 more trials in the coming months. Also, the subtitle of the game is Amuse Bouche, so I guess this is like a prequel for a full game? I wonder if these levels will be included in the full game, which would end up making this just a temporary exclusive.

I played some Wasted too. It seems just like the kind of game I would like, but I haven't found the combat fun at all. Also, the art design doesn't quite work for me and the simple level design is a bit boring. I didn't get very far, so maybe it gets better later in the game.

The Mad Max May Humble Monthly Bundle seems much stronger by comparison, although Mad Max seemed like a bigger deal because of the very high MSRP. I may snag it after a Steam MSRP drop and a 75% discount. MSRP bloat is much more prevalent today. Just Cause 2 back in 2010 dropped from $50 to $30 by the Winter Sale, along with a 75% discount.

Why wuld I pay for Hurtworld when I can play that for free with Tebow's mom every night, AMIRITE?!?!?

I kind of wish Adult Swim would've put Duck Game in a monthly instead of Wasted.. Duck Game is a blast to play

And whoever is cancelling due to Hurt World make sure you fill in the Other box and tell them you are cancelling because of Hurt World. I just did.
I'm going to wait to closer to the end of the month as I want to keep my 10% off in the store for "just in case" reasons but Hurt World will be mentioned when I do cancel along with Early Access Survival games in general.

Yeah it's a good idea to stay subbed right before the last week for the 10% off bonus on humble store purchases (if you ever buy anything on there), it puts you more at risk to forget about unsubscribing though..

That's what I was thinking. I'd probably pull a Gedemer and forget to unsub or something so uh no thanks. I'll manage without that 10%. If there's something I REALLY have to have I could probably have someone gift it to me and pay them but I kind of doubt it.

I'm suprised about all the Hurtworld ranting. I've managed to sell my copy for $12.50.

I like being paid to get 6 games blindly.

I somehow don't think all of us are going to find suckers nice people to buy Hurtworld for any substantial amount from this point forward. I'd kinda feel bad charging too much for it anyway. I'd hate for it to happen to me.

Now if there were a market for the game at a fair price ($6 or so), I'd consider selling a copy. I don't have $6 of interest in it, personally, and I kinda doubt the rest of the bundle is going to be worth much more than that.

It could turn out that I'm totally wrong about the game, but I can't see how anyone would look at it and see the same value as Mad Max, Rocket League, or even Ark. I generally avoid Multiplayer-only games like the plague. :speaktothehand:

I think you guys are underestimating how people will eat that EA survival shit up. I've seen a few people sell Hurtworld for $5 already. Anyone heavily invested into those games probably has some interest in it.

Talos Principle, on the other hand, I am having great difficulty in moving. Getting turned down left and right on Barter.vg.

A lot of people bought that with coupons during the steam sale right before the monthly, plus it's devolver.. their games don't have much value in general.

I got it by trading Hard Reset Redux just now, so the price is right, but I was trying to test the open market.

EDIT: Manged to flip it for Final Fantasy XIII-2, effectively getting it for $3.30 CAD.

I do only have feelings for CAG people. That's why I sold it elsewhere. I wouldn't even think to list this game here for more than $6 here.

So underwhelming. Kinda feel like they had to cancel the Sonic bundle after it got leaked and this is what happens on short notice.
