Direct2Drive has WWE16 75% off for $15. Seems suspiciously too good of a deal for them considering no one else has had it anywhere near that cheap yet.

I feel like I should buy it just in case it's a mistake.

Since Tebow's not around, I guess MysterD is the resident wrasslin expert so any thoughts on this one?

I don't think it's a price error. It's the lowest price yet, but it was 19.99$ on amazon at the beginning of June

SSSSSSSSSSSPPPPPPPPPPPPP couldn't wait to pay money for free Digital Homicide games still I see.
What does it say about the market when $.11 per game is still not a deal?

You young'uns may be too young to remember, but back in the day, the video game market collapsed in part because Atari allowed third party software companies to flood the market with games with little or no quality control. First party games like ET didn't help either. I wonder what the long term impact allowing all this crap into the Steam marketplace will have. I don't imagine it will be good.

That said, you can spend little effort and resources, develop a "game," give it away or sell it for pennies and have an income flow based on the card market. Crappy devs benefit, Valve benefits. Even consumers get the +1 and can make back a few cents selling cards. With the exception of communities like this one, I could imagine someone buying this drivel and feeling burned, and then leaving the market. But I guess that's why there are reviews and refunds. I still find myself thinking there should be some minimum standard to allow games onto the store.

Yeah, but that was shovelware being sold for $20 in 1982, not shovelware being sold for 12¢ in 2016. The opportunity cost for the consumer is a bit different than it used to be.

That ship has long since sailed. I don't think you can put the curation genie back in the bottle.

The best they can, and should, do is keep that garbage from getting prime real estate at the top of the front page. Of course it's going to be a top seller, it's 9 cents with cards duh. That doesn't mean they should get featured for that.

It's funny because GOG is all about sticking it to Steam and doing the opposite of what they are doing to try to prove they are better. When curation was a thing and some indies couldn't get in they touted how open they were. Now that Steam is filled with toxic waste sewage they are touting how picky they are are.

As cheap as those games are it is arguably better than jumping through gleam hoops if you want the +1/cards.
I kind of agree but I am too afraid of getting cheapshamed.

Honestly, Valve can change their policies any time they want to. If they decided it would make business sense to jettison the crap and curate the store, they would do so. I think the problem is that they are making money off of even the worst trash, so there is no reason to.

The card/background/emoticon market was brilliant from a business standpoint. It allows them to monetize even the crummiest of content, that would otherwise never sell.

I'll pretty much buy just about anything at less than 20 cents, as long as it's not Digital Homicide. In fact, I just did. Take a look at the bundle options for this: http://store.steampowered.com/app/463350/ I got it for 18 cents!

They can but unless they kick out thousands of shit games it's still going to be a market full of shit.

Better to just do a better job and letting the refuse sink to the bottom instead of promoting it.

Obviously Digital Homicide and their facade placeholders for +1 and cards is the extreme, but I also think there's a bit of a trend/technology/generational shift going on too. The Youtube generation is basically now causing games to be created not necessarily because they'd be fun or interesting to play but rather fun or interesting (or really just stupid laughs) to watch.

Which is why I find it baffling that Valve seems hellbent on making it as "not worth the effort" as possible to use the market. They only make their pennies if I sell the cards.

I'm only posting this to cheap shame
First they came for the g2a'ers, and i did not speak out...

Then they came for the slickdeal's, and i did not speak out...

Then they came for the gleam.io's, and i did not speak out...

Then they came for me, and there was no one left to speak for me.

Haven't really followed that in the least... So much so I assumed it wasn't a 2D platformer.
I don't see the Mega Man connection, either. If anything it looks more like a 3D Metroid, which makes sense considering the developer's pedigree.

Also, ReCore is not a Kickstarter so it might not be garbage.

OUCH!

There are more people playing Life is Feudal than Battleborn on Steam right now. I'm glad I steered clear of that mess.

i was checking out the cesspool, why I dont know.

anyone else get a seizure after looking at mysterD's posts in there?  there should be a warning on that post that it can cause a epileptic seizure

And yet people still do. Sooner or later, you will give in. The Pennies!!!!! It makes perfect sense. Not only are they making their pennies, but they get to laugh at the hoops people have to jump through for those precious pennies. Not to mention the fun gained in disbelief at the ones spending dollars for anime cards, emoticons, and wallpapers.

FWIW I don't think Valve are sadistic, just short sighted and lazy as fuck.

Those restrictions more than likely came into play because of people doing shenanigans with expensive TF2 hats and Counterstrike items and crap like that and then dumbasses who traded with shadesters crying about being scammmed and they probably got sick of hearing it.

Since it's doubtful they collect hundreds of shit games from Poopees and Gleam and such, not the least of which because they already own every game anyway, they probably hadn't though of the ripple effect it would have on the two cent card economy and are probably too lazy to get off their ass and come up with a more reasonable alternative if they did.

I'm sure you're right. Burned again by not using YCS!

But isn't it more fun to believe they are sadistic?

First I bought a wrestling game and now this. I think I'm turning MysterD, I think I'm turning MysterD, I think I'm turning MysterD I really think so.

Oh, crap...

Ain't played 2K16 PC - but at 70% off, I just might have to; especially given the ridiculous amount of hours I've sunk into 2K15 PC (one of my highest played games on Steam @ 157 hours); and still do! WWE 2K15 PC is the game I still kick around here and there - whether for a match, few matches, or for A LOT of hours.

Even despite my issues + problems with WWE 2K15 PC, I loved it. I expect 2K16 is basically 2K15 w/ more tweaks, fixes, options, more moves, bigger roster, Create-A-Diva, and more. I didn't like how 2K15's MyCareer ended w/ you winning the belt and then doing one final come-back run to retire - but 2K16 lets you keep going until you (hopefully) hit the Hall of Fame and/or Retire.

2K15's MyUniverse Mode was great - you can import your wrestler from MyCareer outside of MyCareer and use him. So, you could add them to the rosters. In MyUniverse - you can set-up rosters for who is on what TV show, book TV shows/matches, add TV shows, PPV's, whatever - or randomly let the game do the booking for the actual matches. You can play out the matches, simulate them, or whatever at your leisure.

You can set what belts are defended on whatever shows, as well. I had basically set-up the week like this: one nigh has a Raw Show (Monday); Smackdown Show (Friday); NXT Show (Wednesday); Main Event (for Smackdown + Raw wrestlers); Superstars (for wrestlers on NXT + Smackdown); and Saturday Night was Retro Night (for retired and legends). MyUniverse was my main mode - and felt completely endless, as it just keeps going, and going, and going. It's a perfect End-game, after you finish-up off MyCareer.

I'd expect 2K16 to be similar for MyUnivrse - and also add the kitchen sink, as well.

If you looking for arcade-y and fast wrestling like older wrestling games (i.e. Smackdown games on PSX), WWE 2K15 was NOT that. It's a bit slower-paced and MUCH more similar to the TV show - which I'm absolutely fine with. I like that it completely resembles WWE TV entirely.

If you like the sim-style of play, supposedly 2K16 continues what 2K15 did - with some tweaks and changes. Reversals were very important in 2K15 and could be spammed to death, but supposed 2K16 changes that and you have to be way more selective with how you use them + are a bit more limited on them.

Okay, that's enough on 2K15. I need to go decide if I'm gonna get 2K16.

re: WWE2K16

So this one does have the diva mode so I can play all those burly chicks that Tebow's always going off about, right?
WWE 2K16 has both Divas you can play as AND ALSO does let you in-game Create-A-Diva Wrestler.

Keep in mind - many of the important divas such as Sasha Banks, Becky Lynch, Bayley, Dana Brooke, Alexa Bliss, and Charlotte (Flair) [current Women's Champ] are NOT here in the 2K16 game. You will have to either mod them into the game, create them yourself in-game, of download them from the in-game Online Community Creation section.

WWE 2K15 PC had a few Divas in-game that you could use (Natalya, AJ Lee, Brie Bella, Nikki Bella, Cameron, Naomi, Summer Rae, etc) - but the real problem was you just could NOT Create-A-Diva Wrestler from scratch inside the game. The game has VERY few Divas here. Modders found ways around it and you had to mod them into it.

EDIT:

all that text diarrhea from D

here's the skinny

Yup you can wrestle as the chicks with dicks
You could wrestle as girls in 2K15, also!

It's just 2K15 didn't have many of them provided; and there (worst of all) that there was no option in-game to Create-A-Diva from scratch.

You had to go the modding route to add more divas in 2K15.

I recognize AJ Lee as having been married to Tebow. Other than that, haven't heard of them - what exactly makes them important?

Well that's no good. How am I going to play as Ghost of Chyna if I can't make my own Diva?

I see 16 is the year to go with.

Although no Hogan, too bad. They could have done an H patch where he's getting it on with his BFF's girl while making racist comments.
