Please note:

  • You cannot currently buy any Xbox 360 content on xbox.com using your account balance, you can only use an active credit card or PayPal. To use your balance, you must make purchases on your console.  Unfortunately, even "purchasing" free content through the web site like trials requires an alternative method of payment tied to your account, though adding an empty MasterCard / Visa gift card that is registered for online purchases will work.  Xbox One games can be purchased on the web site with your account balance.
  • Some sales are intended for Gold subscribers only, as noted within each section.
On Xbox One, Gold trials of any length work for sales and Games with Gold.  You must be an active Gold subscriber (paid or trial) to play Games with Gold purchases.
  • On Xbox 360, you must have at least a 1 month Gold subscription for sales and Games with Gold.  Neither 48 hour trials, 14 day trials nor free weekends qualify.

[*]All known sales and information on sales should make their way into the OP. Major Nelson usually updates his blog with new sales information every Tuesday.
[*]ALL OFFERS ARE SUBJECT TO CHANGE! No information within this thread can or should be construed as accurate (or still valid), therefore ...

http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showthread.php?t=1377114 Halo MCC is receiving feedback?

4k patch for Scorpio and finally some new updates?

Way to re-open some wounds. I don't know if I can take this if true.

But if it's free Halo 3 anniversary updates and coming to PC I'm all for it.
I've been holding out hope that several early Xbone exclusives that were obviously held back by the lower-end tech would receive patches/optimization for higher-end systems (and a possible W10 port with Play Anywhere support) either during E3 (for the hype factor) or to coincide with the release of Scorpio (to boost the Scorpio launch game count).

My wishlist for this was MCC (obviously at the top), KI and Sunset Overdrive. Beyond hyped that this might be happening for my top two choices. :bouncy:

I know there was some discussion of issues with revoking licenses earlier in the thread, but I saw this on the actual Xbox website tonight:

So, did they change something until the "self service" program is ready? I thought before they even had a policy of one refund a year. Just a flat "no" seems odd.
Iirc, getting refunds was always YMMV, with "No, fuck off" being their "official" position.

Earlier PSA Update

I can confirm that all the discs (except for Unplugged, I don't own that one so I can't test it, sorry) I posted earlier do work on your Xbone and let you download (you don't install them directly from the disc, so you will need to be connected to the internet) the appropriate BC titles on the disc. I can also confirm all 7 Lumines Live! DLCs can be installed on Xbone from the Qubed disc, even the delisted ones (the disc is seriously a steal at $5)

The games will be added to your queue when you pop in the disc if you choose to download the "update" it prompts you to. If not, they are accessible from the "Ready to Install" section.

No, you can't download a game from the disc and continue to play it without the disc being in there.

In addition to the previous list I posted, I decided to test two more XBLA collections I own. Here are the details:

Capcom Digital Collection ($15 at GameStop) has:
1942: Joint Strike [NOT BC]
Bionic Commando Rearmed 2
Final Fight: Double Impact
Flock!
Rocketmen: Axis of Evil & It Came From Uranus DLC [NOT BC]
Super Puzzle Fighter II Turbo HD Remix [NOT BC]
Super Street Fighter II Turbo HD Remix [NOT BC]
Wolf of the Battlefield: Commando 3 [NOT BC]

Namco Virtual Museum Arcade ($20 at GameStop) has:
Dig Dug
Galaga
Galaga Legions
Mr. Driller Online
Ms. Pac-Man
New Rally-X
Pac-Man
Pac-Man Championship Edition
Xevious [NOT BC]
None of the games from this collection are on sale, but I decided to test it for future reference

The only other XBLA collections I can think of are the Konami and Popcap ones (the only one of those I own is the PvZ disc that includes PvZ, Peggle and Zuma, but I honestly can't be bothered to test it, especially when 2 of the 3 games have been GWG). Zuma's Revenge has a disc release that includes Bejeweled 3 and Feeding Frenzy 2, fwiw.

Here's the old list if anybody wanted it reposted now that I've confirmed the discs work on Xbone.

The arcade discs work the same as on 360. The "disc" doesn't have its own install, only the separate BC titles.
Understand you can't play the game if you don't own it without the disc in but do you happen to know if you buy like LUMINES if you can play the DLC without the disc in? Tempting to pay the $2.49 for the base just to be able to not have to get off my fat ass. Just bought the disc. It would still be an awesome deal with all 7 DLCs there to pay for both if you can.

------

On an off topic note, anyone watching Twin Peaks tonight? I haven't rewatched the series and it's been so long that I'll probably be lost but am looking forward to checking it out.

Was hooked on it for 2 days straight about 5 years ago. Played from the beginning right through to the end of the main dungeon.

Problem was I was immediately burnt out on the game afterwards and had almost no interest in doing the infinite bonus dungeon, which meant that I didn't end up getting the last achievement. :whistle2:(

Tried going back to it a few months ago for that last pesky achievements, and just couldn't get into the game again. So enjoy it while you can, game is best when you're marathoning it.

Don't forget to "refer" someone to the game so you can get free total Respec potions instead of paying for them like a sucker.

Was curious about the same thing, actually. I don't own it digitally but if I have enough leftover credit (I've got a little less than $200 stocked up right now) after splurging on this super sale, I'll buy it and let you know.

And yeah, I'm watching the new Twin Peaks in 10 minutes.

Somewhat game related, it appears the Resident Evil film franchise is set to be rebooted. And the studio plans to make another six movies too. I just.....that's too early for me. Worse than the Spiderman reboots. I understand the RE movies brought in over a billion dollars(which is why they're bringing it back again), but damn. There's gonna be definite burnout. RE Final Chapter just came out in January!!!! Fat chance Milla is back too. Half the enjoyment for me was watching her kick ass
Those movies have needed a reboot for 10 years. In theory this could mean we'll get more game accurate movies or at least something worth watching for something other than ridiculous action, terrible acting, and an attractive star. But looking at other movies this studio has been involved with over the years isn't giving me much hope. Somehow the RE movies are the best things they've produced by far.

Such classics as:
The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones
Both Fantastic Four movies before the reboot. (And the terrible unreleased one)
DOA: Dead or Alive

I get the feeling the movies themselves aren't going to change all that much aside from not staring Jovovich. With the way the final movie ended I could see them doing a soft reboot and staying in universe, but they have no one to spin-off with. Everyone hates all of the movie versions of the game characters, and all the original characters are dead aside from Alice. I do think the one good thing these movies did was put a big female action star out there for a long time when there was a big drought, so hopefully they at least keep the lead female. Probably Jill if they are going to draw from the games still.

There have been rumours (so take it with a grain of salt) that older first party games will be getting updates for Scorpio compatibility. Things like Halo 5 running at a consistent 1080p (without dropping frames) and allowing Gears 4 to hit 4k.

But these are rumours so we won't know until June 11.

I've been playing Torchlight on and off since 2 pm today. This game has me by the scrote and won't let go. If you enjoy action role-playing games, it's a must-buy.
Yea, I played three hours straight when I bought it and another couple hours yesterday. It's so addicting right now.

This sale keeps me coming back !

This Round

Scarygirl
Rage
Putty Squad
Small Arms
Space Giraffe
Gripshift
Alice Madness Returns
Hydro Thunder
Space Ark
Midway Arcade Classics
RDR Undead Nightmare

Total about 30 games
Thank goodness I bought most of the others when they were sale ages ago or no joke I'd be totally broke ! :)

Checked out that last Resident Evil flick last night with my girl.....one of the worst pieces of shit I've ever seen. Within the first 10 minutes I knew I had wasted my money on that rental. And the funny thing is, I accepted the last couple RE movies for all their popcorn entertainment and stupidity. But this was just a disjointed mess with no focus and a plot I couldn't give one-fifth of a shit about, easily the worst entry in the franchise. Glad its over.

Mixed feeling about this. On one hand, I like how the current movies took elements of the games and created their own storylines (Extinction and Afterlife were very good). On the other hand, they went off course with Apocalypse and The Final Chapter, which really pissed me off for one of the same reasons I hated Alien 3
establish characters in the previous movie and kill them all immediately in the next one.

It also didn't help that they had 3 actresses playing the same role. They made up some of the twists at the last minute and it showed.

The two CGI movies also weren't bad, and they tied in to the games IIRC.

Everyone hates all of the movie versions of the game characters, and all the original characters are dead aside from Alice.
Not true. One of the other survivors at the end of The Final Chapter was
Claire Redfield.

I won't mind a series with RE movies that are closer to the games as long as it doesn't crap on the original material. i.e. what Silent Hill: Revelation did to Silent Hill.

Could a person learn to play card games by playing the 360 games in the Hardwood card game series? I've never learned to play any card games in real life, but each of the games that are on sale seem to have gotten at least a "6" average review score. I didn't know if they include tutorials.
Yes and all 360 games have a how to play option under their menus but if anything you can always Google the rules ...I mean Bing what you're looking for. :whistle2:

I used to play "Atomic Eights", a combination of UNO and crazy eights at one of my summer jobs, oh man that was epic. All of which came from hours of playing UNO on Xbox Live of course lol. :D/

When playing Atomic Eights, at what point do you whip it out for the camera?

The more I think about Alien Covenant the more disappointed I am. It just felt like with Alien and Prometheus and this, I've just seen the same movie three times now with diminishing returns on memorable characters. As of right now I can definitely pass on the next movie in the series and wait for a $13 Blu-ray of it unless it turns out to be a disaster entirely, in which case I'll just skip it entirely.

Ori:DE free to download as well.
Just because I have seen this come up multiple times now, was this not always the case? I know they announced it was free to owners of Ori at launch and that's when I picked it up. Did they change something after the fact they were charging the Ori owners now? There are hints the same thing might happen to Recore with a "enhanced edition" coming out that fixes some of the grind and supposed to add the missing "robot pal", I'm pretty sure they said this would be free to owners of Recore like this Ori situation.

Ori: DE was $4.99 for owners of the original version when it released. Castle Crashers XB1 was free for 360 owners for a while after release before switching to a $5 price.

I am pretty sure the upgrade is normally $4.99.

I thought it was $5 at launch for owners of previous version, I could be wrong though.

To answer another question asked few posts ago (on mobile so no multiquote), saves do not transfer between standard and DE.

The new area added to DE is good, but completely optional. I only played it once or twice then skipped it. Adds more story to the characters in the game. I really want more Ori at E3 this year.

How are you guys finding so much to buy in this sale? Lol...I thought most of you would have the majority of these games by now or not be interested in what you didn't have.

I only had Hardwood Hearts but it was fun...good change of pace from shooting things.

Have a bit more than half the stuff in the BC sale. 17 games I own both physically and digitally, plus 4 DLC passes. 20 more I own physically, with 3 DLCs owned via complete editions. 106 games owned digitally, plus another 2 on the XB1 through Rare Replay.

Have a list of 60 some games to mull over that I don't have, some already definites, some "why the hell not at that price", plus a few I may digitally double dip on. Will buy some stuff before work in the morning, and see where I stand on credit. Had picked up a $50 card on Friday, plus that 500 Bing mobile bonus put me over for another $5 credit. Won't be enough for everything I'm considering, but the backlog may be sated with the sacrifices offered to it. Then there's the thought that a large chunk of these games will be covered by the Game Pass when it launches.

As a fellow Pokermans fan, I can respect that dedication. Didn't know you were a 3DS owner. Do you have Sun/Moon yet?
I have Sun and Moon, but haven't played too much of them yet. Still collecting in the 6th gen, plus still fire up Animal Crossing: New Leaf on a daily basis. Need to make some progress in the 7th gen, plus have Dragon Quest 7 & 8 to work on.

We rarely see prices this low for so many quality games. Also, you can probably get your money's worth for the a $3 and under games even if you don't like it.

Thanks for replying about the card games. The only card game that I ever played was UNO, so I don't know much about gin, hearts, poker, etc.

I didn't get home Internet until 2015, so I missed the glory days of Xbox Live. Therefore, a lot of these 360 games are completely new to me. So I'm cleaning up during this sale. Sad to say it, but a lot of Xbox One games really don't interest me that much, so I'll have plenty to play for months.

And did anyone buy Monday Night Combat? If so, is there a single player mode? I just realized it had a free Spunky Cola Special DLC, so I'm contemplating picking it up before this sale ends.

I should also mention that both Ghostbusters games appear to be delisted from Steam, so it might be a good idea to buy both for posterity's sake, even the bad one (Sanctum of Slime).

I wasn't going to get anything, but I guess I'll have to jump on Alan Wake: American Nightmare and a couple other arcade titles I missed over the years.

One recommendation that I have to make is Eat Lead. I played this game shortly after it came out and thought it was so much better than I anticipated. The humor and video game parodies throughout gave me a lot of laughs.

MNC is definitely not worth it for the single player, the multiplayer was great but sadly it died out around a month after release.

Anyone playing The Surge? Just got some BB certs and am tempted by it. Love the sci-fi setting but still a bit on the fence.

Also considering Injustice 2 if that makes a difference.

I need to be more patient. I didn't wait to read this and bought it before I left for work along with a few other cheapies just in case the sale ended early. Oh well. Maybe this is one of those that the CAGs can plan a game night to play together. I just get the feeling that some of these games might be stealthily delisted soon. Yesterday, I was shocked when I found out that the Snoopy airplane game on the 360 had been delisted. I had planned to buy it someday, but it's gone forever.

I asked for a review copy of The Surge. If I don't get it, I'll probably be playing tons of Portal Knights.

From the clips I watched of The Surge, looks like a better Lord's of the Fallen with robots. Everybody was backstepping and not rolling in the clips I saw, so that'll be interesting

I think sp is worth it at sale price. Loved the mp at launch.

Lawbreakers (Cliffy B) is most likely being announced for PS4 today. Possible timed - or forever - console exclusive.
Without knowing if it's good, it's tough to care too much. He probably needed that Sony Cheese to finish making the game. It's a TF2/Overwatch style game, right?

I just have that feeling that The Surge will be a heavy discount soon, dark souls is one of my favorite games and I'm interested in a "clone" in a sci-fi setting but I can wait. I picked up Injustice 2 on Saturday and really haven't put it down. I haven't even got into competing against a live human version of multiplayer because there is just so much else to do. The game is a beauty on my 4k HDR but last night I hooked it up to my computer monitor so i could have my AI bot grind the multiverse while I laid in bed and it still looked quite stunning.

Yeah, I was starting to think based on Lords of the Fallen that The Surge probably will drop fairly quickly. And now that I think about it, I don't have many fighting games. Not a huge fighting game fan but enjoyed the 360 version of Injustice when I played after getting it free.

I'll probably just go for Injustice 2.

For $2.49 I think you'll get enough enjoyment out of it. There are 2 modes. Blitz is your basic Horde mode, which can be done solo or co-op. Then Crossfire which is a versus mode, but you can just go against someone locally if you don't find anyone online. Easy cheevs if you care about that.

This man gave me Gears. I can forgive him for this grevious betrayal.
Ha there should be some quality trolling on twitter, I don't think most xbox fans will be as forgiving as you. That said I've probably forgot about this project at least 4 or 5 times now....

Just out of curiosity, how's everyone's backlog looking after this sale? I now have a total of 39 games I want to play, and that's including Xbox, PS4 and Switch games. I've now categorized my games by length. Went on howlongtobeat.com and looked up each game by its average time to at least beat the single player. It kinda gives me a better idea of what I'm up against, and it doesn't look pretty lol.

Has the dlc for left 4 dead 2 ever gone on sale? Have all the DLC except cold stream and deciding whether to either buy L4D1 or just buy the dlc. Would like to play the first games campaigns again

I wish I only had 39 games in my backlog.

Re: last gen and BC... when I got my X1, it was because I found a great deal and a lot of games I wanted to play from the past few years had dropped to low prices. But I'm still very much interested in catching up on last-gen stuff for dirt cheap, and $5 for games that have aged well, work on my new console, and (generally) still hold up is music to my ears. Especially exclusives which I missed because I only had a PS3 for most of last gen.

I Am all for a Zwan reunion, but I also want to hear all the unreleased stuff considering on the deluxe edition DVD there were definetely a few songs on there in the background that aren't on the album. Though I like how A Perfect Circle ties both Iha and Lenchantin together, but I kinda wish they made an album more in tune to Mer De Noms, but then again I'm surprised Maynard even does anything besides wine these days.

And dammit, fine, I'll listen to it when I get home because of all the Zwan talk, but if I suddenly leave my home to scream in my car and fog up the windows, you're taking the blame.
Did I miss a post? Don't leave me hanging.
