Please note:

  • You cannot currently buy any Xbox 360 content on xbox.com using your account balance, you can only use an active credit card or PayPal. To use your balance, you must make purchases on your console.  Unfortunately, even "purchasing" free content through the web site like trials requires an alternative method of payment tied to your account, though adding an empty MasterCard / Visa gift card that is registered for online purchases will work.  Xbox One games can be purchased on the web site with your account balance.
  • Some sales are intended for Gold subscribers only, as noted within each section.
On Xbox One, Gold trials of any length work for sales and Games with Gold.  You must be an active Gold subscriber (paid or trial) to play Games with Gold purchases.
  • On Xbox 360, you must have at least a 1 month Gold subscription for sales and Games with Gold.  Neither 48 hour trials, 14 day trials nor free weekends qualify.

[*]All known sales and information on sales should make their way into the OP. Major Nelson usually updates his blog with new sales information every Tuesday.
[*]ALL OFFERS ARE SUBJECT TO CHANGE! No information within this thread can or should be construed as accurate (or still valid), therefore ...

I'm really interested in Rime but I'll wait for the inevitable sale.

Though I did pre-order/purchase my first X1 title at full price this year outside of RE7 - Tekken 7. So what other 7th game will be released this year that I can purchase at full price?

Where are our Friday the 13th hot takes?
Just got done, 9+ straight hours playing and

1: Crashing a lot, they say they're working on it Twitter so we'll see. Also character may get stuck in place.

2: Matchmaking is broken right now until they fix it, most of the time can't even get a match. I personally was never able to through matchmaking. Luckily was able to play with friends my entire time playing today. Server problems which they said they're also looking into.

3. As someone mentioned that it does look janky and it is but it's bearable

4. Have a mic if you're going to play though this game. You need to communicate. You have to be able to tell people what you found and know what other people have or you're fucked.

5. Which brings me to this, you can be in a party but go to game chat, don't stay in party chat. This game has cool thing to where you can only hear your teammates when they're in you proximity. Which makes the game so much better imo. Unless you find a walkie talkies than you can talk across the map with anyone else that found one. Being in party chat kind of ruins that.

6. The atmosphere is great, ambience is great, true Friday the 13th feeling. If you love the movies, you'll it.

7. When it's working, the game is mindless fun, haven't had this much fun in forever.

8. Playing as a counselor is just as fun as playing with Jason imo. If you know you're fucked, trolling and fucking with Jason is so funny.

9. The game is one of the most intense i've ever played. Getting stalked by Jason ain't no joke.

10. Graphics may not be great but this is no AAA title, needed a kickstarter to be made. ALL THE JASON's ARE VERY DETAILED so that's great.

Overall I think the game is worth it if you are huge Friday the 13th. If not then probably wait or see if you can get a cheap copy from someone since a lot of the kickstarter tiers came with two or wait for a sale. For me it's worth $40, to most probably not. The game is not without problems, it has many. I enjoyed my time, most fun I had in a long time.

^tl;dr - too much to sum up so Best Game Ever Made.

They thought they could hide but heard their breathing lmao

Ring Around the Rosie

Wow that "Ring Around the Rosie" video ending was pretty brutal.  I actually cringed and gasped when I saw it.  All that effort chasing you around a 3-foot wide table must've really upset Jason.

Tried to get a game twice last night, waited about 10 minutes each time with no results. Still not working today..I'm guessing they are not going to do anything about this until Tuesday, so I will be taking advantage of the Microsoft refund program.

Anyone playing Rime yet? I'm actually excited to pick it up this weekend

I played RiME for about 4 hours yesterday. Game is very good. I took a million screenshots, it is very pretty.

If you like Journey, Wind Waker, or The Witness - then you will enjoy RiME.

If you are looking for guns, boobs, and footballs - this game is not for you.

Many people in the GameStop thread are buying physical copies there this weekend for the 50% extra trade in bonus on the monthly stealth bump. I'm trying to decide whether to buy it or The Surge because I have a few duplicate copies of a few games that I need to dump.

Dragon's Dogma: Dark Arisen for XB1 is up on Amazon, $29.99.

http://a.co/8LhqwQr

Description says includes all DLC - and that the graphics are beautiful.

You expect the game to be fixed in a few days, and you bought it at release so you must be interested. Is your plan to burn your 1/year refund and turn around and re-buy on Wednesday?

So my Retro Rewards for next month are pending, and I even got the extra 1,000 for buying crap from every decade (even though I only bought 360 content). Cool. :bouncy:

Also, Xbone Insiders can get a free month of Groove Music Pass. It's kinda neat, works with my W10 laptop, Xbone and W8.1 Phone.

I don't think refunds are restricted to once per year. Not allowed to abuse refunds though by "renting" a bunch of games

^ Just checked and also got the Retro Rewards, also got a bonus for buying from all three decades. BC Sale ftw! I already requested my deposit lol, gonna have a nice Microsoft balance come the 30th!

Also spent all day downloading Overwatch, well started at 2PM because that's when they let you download the trial. I believe I'm being throttled on my phone now, Verizon said they'd do that in congested networks but that wasn't happening for 2 months. Soooo, either there are more people out here in the middle of nowhere or Verizon is pulling some shit like usual.

I was able to play Forza Horizon 3 online and get those challenges done, while I was downloading Overwatch, which was surprising. It did explain all the cars "sliding" around everywhere. Haha, that reminded me of when I played GTA IV online and people saw that and me hitting every single post and whatnot yet on my screen I was driving perfectly down the middle of the road. People would think I couldn't drive and would bail out!

Played a few rounds of Overwatch last night, think I was with A.I., couldn't tell, and it seems they don't throttle me at night (when people are off the network?).

Finally saw Alien. Partner was sick the night it came out but he and I went last night.

I thought it was a great action/horror movie, and a decent Alien film. I'm really mad they killed Shaw off-screen, just like Hicks and Newt, after working so hard to see them survive in the previous movie. WTF? Pre-release they said the actress was reprising her role, which was likely to not spoil the plot detail that she was dead. Stupid.

I do, however, like Ridley Scott's continued exploration of AI, free will, humanity. In Prometheus, David seemed to just be doing what he was programmed/instructed. He seemed to enjoy what he was doing, but it was hard to parse out him being a heartless machine or to actually be more of a sadistic type At the end when he basically made a truce with Shaw, it seemed like now that Wayland was dead, he was no longer bound to any of those instructions. Nope, turns out he's just really fucking evil.

I like this in concept because it gives these films an antagonist other than the alien themselves or the big, scary, vague threat of 'the company.' He's almost like Lore on TNG if Lore wasn't silly and was actually evil - developing freedom of thought and rebelling.

Covenant is only 18 years before the original Alien, so even without another film, it's easy to piece together how the company already knew about the aliens when the Nostromo encountered them.

Also, I figured Danny McBride would be early-death material, and I kept waiting for him to make a dick joke or do something dumb. He was... surprisingly good in the role.

I know, but there wasn't enough there that I was interested in for $20.  I'd rather just spend $7 on something I wanted than $20 to get it and some other stuff I don't want

Makes sense. Just putting the info out there for anyone else who might want Alan Wake. I usually buy games during those sales, but I've decided to take a powder on it since I spent so much during the Backwards Compatibility sale. On a related note, I've been playing a lot more since I decided not to buy anymore games for a while. Torchlight is my most played game right now because it's so addictive.

Are games still being added to Xbox Backwards Compatibility? I'm waiting on Lollipop Chainsaw and Asura's Wrath being added before I go out and buy a slim.
They are still adding games. Hard to say what are chances are on these games, and it's not entirely known if a developer has some say in a game coming or it it's entirely dependent on the publisher, I think it depends on the specific game and terms of the publishing deal.

Lollipop Chainsaw - Publisher WB Games have a few BC games: Injustice 1, some Lego games, Bastion (probalby Supergiant's call), Witcher 2 (probalby CD Projekt Red's call.)

Developed by Grasshopper Manufacture, who have one BC game, Killer is Dead, which has a different publisher.

Asura's Wrath - Publisher/developer isn't an question here since it's all Capcom. They've been pretty light on making retail games backwards compatible, with only Street Fighter 4 (the extremely out of date version that can't be brought up the current Ultra version through DLC) and the poorly received Dark Void. They've had great success with budget priced HD ports for Resident Evil, Dead Rising and MvC3, with Resident Evil: Revelations and Dragon's Dogma: Dark Arisen both recently having ports announced, and Resident Evil: Code Veronica X recently had a PS2 Classic release on PS4. It seems if they think it would sell they will do an HD port. From my personal experience, I'd say Asura's Wrath has been either the most or second most requested and unaccounted for Capcom game alongside Dragon's Dogma, but it hasn't had a semi-recent PC port made to use as an easy foundation for new current gen ports like DD had. I also think the Lost Planet games would probably get HD ports before Asura, but who knows.

I think a few other games from Capcom have been held back in case new ports are made. Super Street Fighter 2 Turbo HD Remix is probably being held in case Ultra Street Fighter 2 does well on Switch and more versions are made. The much more recent Street Fighter 3: Online Edition, Darkstalkers Collection, and Devil May Cry HD Collection all seem feasible.

anyone know how the achievements are in Rime? ... took a look at the list, but it is hard to tell. TA completion estimates showing 8-10 hours. but no idea if that is multiple playthroughs ...

Anyone have issues installing Infinite Warfare Legacy Edition?  Basically, I typically disconnect from the internet and put the game in.  It installs.  This time, the game doesn't begin installing, and doesn't even show up in the queue.  There is the icon for the game in the start menu, so I know it recognizes it.  If I connect to the net with the game it, it shows up in my queue, but disappears again when I disconnect.

anyone that owns Injustice 2 should hop into the multiverse right now. For the next 3 hours there's a special event where you'll get 9 Diamond mother boxes for completing all 3 events. Remember, you can set your AI to play for you.

Finally got to try out Dolby Atmos. Even with a old Polk Headset the sound was pretty sexy.

Unfortunately in party chat everyone sounds like they are in a echochamber. While their voice becomes more clear it becomes a bit distracting. It did enhance my games a bit, but outside of Overwatch I'm not sure what other games are Dolby Atmos enhanced.

It's $15 for a license between the X1 and Windows 10. Apparently you can stretch that license over 10 consoles you own/10 PCS.

The trial does not charge you when it ends AFAIK. You get 30 days (hope im not wrong on this).

It should do 2 installs as in a bundle for the two separate games. On the disc there were like 200 MB for COD4R (basically a launcher that tells you "lol u gotta download a lot") and the whole singleplayer of CODIW.

You can get all of them in one playthrough, the story ones aren't marked as that but there are a few of them, others are pretty cryptic but if you check TA you should get them easily. Collectibles are well hidden without a guide, I only got about half of them

You forgot Shadows of the Damned. The other 360 games they did are the aforementioned Lollipop Chainsaw, Black Knight Sword (this'll most likely be BC), Sine Mora (confirmed to be getting a remake on Xbone under a different publisher, so probably no BC), Diabolical Pitch (requires Kinect, so out of the question) and No More Heroes: Heroes' Paradise (Japan-only, could be made BC).
I think Lolli's a possible BC addition as I don't see WB in any rush to re-release it.

Since I asked for easy completions in the Game Pass a few days ago, I don't remember if anyone had Monday Night Combat in their list. You can do all Blitz achievements solo (and it's MUCH easier that way), every mp one except for the triple kill just with a second controller, and the triple kill one in private matches online. Can basically be a 1-2 hour 200G.

Is this game any fun? It's on my list of games to try this weekend from those that I bought during the BC sale. I bought it mainly because I liked the trailer on Steam.

It's pretty cool but online is dead right now, I could barely find anyone playing blitz (which is MUCH easier solo than coop). IIRC it's f2p on Steam, I bet there's more players there.

Its dwindled hard on the PC scene. They kept screwing around with the balancing and now its open to far too much cheap close-quarters combat. Still worth checking out though as the concept is awesome.

Only the sequel, Super MNC (which is a MOBA) is f2p. Original MNC is $5 and dead as a doornail.

The Culling was a flavour of the month MP game a while back, but as mentioned, they kept screwing with it and turned off most of the playerbase. This console port is probably just one last desperate move for a sustainable playerbase on a platform with far less competition.

There's another one giving a ton of diamond and plat boxes right now.

Man... I must confess that I've never played and finished a Call of Duty or Battlefield campaign.  Buy the games, go straight to MP.  Just finished Black Ops II campaign, and I really enjoyed myself.  Any other Battlefield or COD campaigns stand out?  I have Infinite Warfare in my queue and have heard nothing but good things about the campaign.

Advanced warfare was good, my two favorites are black ops 1 and World at War
