King Arthur's Gold was the worst, although I've dropped out of so many events after 5-10 minutes that I'm sure there's some other abominations I have forgotten.
Yeah I tend to agree with this. It was the most nonsensical pile of shit I can recall but I laugh when I think about it so I guess there's that. SurvHive was largely completely awful but has that same sort of humor about it.

We've played a few other really shitty games that I can recall off hand. Space Engineers is one, and there's another a few of us tried, it was a shooter game where we were like blue or red guys, I dont remember the name of it though. Streamline was another bad one.

EDIT: The red and blue guy one was Alpha/Decay. Garbage. Spectre was also complete shit, that was scheduled the night after Alpha/Decay, guess that was a bad week lol.

lol...I scheduled those two and yeah they were horrible. Alpha Decay we could never figure out how to use the guns and Spectre we never really figured out the point and it looked a hot mess.

Not sure if this is an error or not, but according to this Madden is coming out on PC this year. Part of me thinks its an error because it would have been part of a bigger announcement, but it would make sense with Origin doing well for EA to bring Madden back to PC. Also, the executive who was against keeping Madden on PC left in February, so its possible I guess.

I'm not optimistic since it seems like every year we get a rumor that Madden is coming to PC. But man, a modern football game on PC with mod potential? That would be a game changer. I'd finally have a reason to use Origin, too.

Except Frostbite isn't moddable yet. FIFA used to be easily modifiable, but 17 they hit a wall because of the Frostbite engine. There would be some things that could be done, but not like you're probably thinking of. The only FIFA 17 mods available are little things, whereas just the year before they were doing full on World Cup and Champions League mods that changed/added the complexity of those modes drastically. Not so in 17. Mod potential on Madden would be minimal and not a buy point most likely, just because of the engine unless the modders figure out how to get inside of it, which they havent yet on FIFA (9 months later).

Just getting the game (Madden) on PC again would be a win, but I also agree that this is probably a mistake but maybe we hear something tomorrow during EA's E3 presser. It makes no sense that EA doesn't release Madden/NHL/PGA on PC since they have their own distribution platform and they already develop the games on the PC first anyway.

Wasn't aware of the limitations when it came to mods on Frostbite. I figured part of the reason that Madden games weren't making their way to PC was the belief that people would just end up modding in updated rosters/stadiums/jerseys over time which would hurt sales of new releases. So if using Frostbite is preventing that for the time being, you'd think/hope EA would be more open to a PC release.

Regardless of mods, I'd still buy a new Madden game on PC either at launch or within the first month or two. We've been starved of good football and hockey games for way too long.

No. Modding has no effect on why these games aren't on PC. The argument they've made against Madden/NHL on PC is that they're niche sports with smaller fanbases (compared to FIFA which is worldwide), so the cost of manufacturing etc. outweighed any other reason. And in fairness to them, it made sense back when they first stopped the series' on PC. Even piracy was never a major reason why they stopped although that did play a part in the beginning.

There's no reason for them not to now. Piracy has been lessened to a great degree and a digital only release wouldn't significantly impact sales one way or another.

Madden and NHL both would be day one, if not preorders for me, at least their first return to PC.

Origin is having a sale,  BF1 is $24.  Just in time to make tonights BFr1day brofest tonight.

Star Wars Battlefront ultimate is $10, titanfall 2 is $20

Been playing some Monster Slayers, which I got from that Bundlestars bundle. My thoughts on it after probably about 15 hours or so.

This game is pretty addictive for a while. You get 3 cards to start (later increased by leveling) and play them and you have mana and action points, which the cards usually use. There are a few classes and you can get rid of cards and upgrade some of them. This is essential to get anywhere close to beating this game. I'm pretty sure 99% of the time when you see the Priestess, you will remove a card. Now I'm not sure if after you beat the game you can get more levels, but i'm at a level cap of 15. It's a bit limited, but alright. Every time you level up you regain all your health and get benefits of some better abilities, card removal, or extra cards. There is a decent bit to keep track of, but it's relatively simple after your first run. You also run with equipment you can get in various ways. For doing things in the game, you acquire fame which gives you perks that help your characters. It honestly is well put together and quite addictive.

The cons though make the game a bit average. It feels pretty samey after a while. Whatever class you play, you keep trying to clean out your decks and make it stronger. The equipment, for the most part is universal for all characters. The gameplay gets old too. I'm also not sure if once you beat the main bad guy if there is another end game. Also the graphics are kind of simple but alright.

I'm giving it a solid 7/10 for now, but after I beat it, I may not play it as much as other rogue-lite games like Binding of Isaac;Rebirth. Very much worth it in a bundle, but you probably wont last long after you beat the game.

The last I looked, which would have been last generation, the 2K NHL game was the better series so I assume I would rather have it but I would be hard pressed not to preorder both Madden and EA NHL game if they released on PC.

Sometimes you just have to talk with your wallet.

Also, there's an honest chance its not a mistake... The architecture of the PS4, Xbone, and PC is very similar making any porting cheaper to do.

BF1 Premium Pass is on sale... for a whopping 20% off. Meh.
Only a buck savings for the new crowd buying both game and pass at the same time. Not sure if I respect them or hate the for that. lol

Any of the bros play BF1 with a controller on PC? (Is it an an obvious disadvantage were it would be a waste of time getting it or can one make do with it?)

Edit: Ended up getting TitanFall 2 (I hear good things about the story) and Star Wars Battlefront (I'm sure there's 10 bucks of fun there) while thinking on BF1.

Seems TrumpCat needs to get that wall built...

TF2 is great. Highly recommended!

2K hasn't had a major NHL release since 2009. I think everyone who enjoys these games would like to see EA have some competition in both NFL/NHL games, but its been a long time since they had a game on one of the major platforms.

you dont own a mouse/keyboard. im sure you can play with a controller, but you will get worked over harder than Fox's Mom on bring your buddy night.

if you have friday nights free, you will get your $24 worth playing bf with the bros.

MysterD needs to stop being cheap and just buy it already. We already know he likes the game

as for the season pass, why would they discount it, there are still 3 of the 4 packs to release. If some of the bros didnt catch a glitch i doubt we would have it. There have been enough "premium friends" events where you can check out the maps, i probably wouldnt worry about picking it up.

I thought Bah or someone played with a controller. I remember asking about controls and getting a less than helpful "left bumper" answer. The game does have aim assist for controllers (which you can turn off).

None of us can shoot for shit anyway.

How much was BF1 Season Pass in the glitch?

I apparently don't remember shit right... I sware Joe Thornton was on the cover as a Bruin but looking at Google that never happened and the reviews for the 2k series seem suspect.

It probably a EA game and not a 2k game i'm thinking of... I'll have to look through my console games and find it... but it was pretty awesome and had a mode similar to MLB The Show were you played games as only one player and actually graded you as a player at that position.

Without a doubt I learned two things about playing a defenseman in the NHL. Don't draw interference penalties and you better stay in your area as they'll demoted you to the minors even if your leading the team in scoring. (AKA how to be a team player even if everyone else is an AI.)

The new Madden games also have the majority of the most appealing modes tied into the internet, so if it does come to PC that would be definitely put a damper on piracy as well.

Nah, not BF1. I never play that with a controller.

Im hoping to join tonight. Waiting for my GPU to be delivered. fucking UPS. They always come here from like 7-9pm, we're at the end of the guy's route. Blah.

I also think that PC gaming has become a lot more popular than it used to be, so any costs that they have to port the game over to PC should be easily recoverable. Hopefully they have come to realize that whatever sales figures that Madden and NHL had on PC over a decade ago would not compare to the number of copies that would sell on that platform today.

Fox's mom? ^^^^
Not sure, I've only seen her from behind.

Also, I would love a new Madden for PC. Instant buy and a game I'd actually play.
Probably the only way the Texans will go to the super bowl. Hope they have a create a play mode. Sweet.
Also loving my Rx 580, stutter free with everything maxed out. Finished need for speed the run today after I gave up on it because apparently my last card couldn't handle it.

I hoped to play Last Will last night, but left for a trip a day earlier than planned. 20 percent off BF1 pass is still a pass four me.
I scheduled it again for next week. Hopefully more people show up. It's 4 players max so it shouldn't be difficult to fill out 1 lobby.

Also, we're going to be using a new discord server for the SpoderFox group. I've posted an invite link to it in an announcement and the Discord thread in the group. Posting about it here in case people don't see the announcement.

Was about to buy BF1, but a friend told me there are few people playing vanilla, if I buy BF1 I should get premium/season pass. I believe him because something like that happened to me with BF3. Bought vanilla and I barely played it because most people were playing DLC maps.

Also played battlefront during the beta. It was really boring and don't think it will be fun now (are people still playing it?)

I'm also playing a lot of overwatch (bought it recently)

Agreed, BF1 is definitely worth $24, and we don't really play the premium DLC maps often enough to warrant the SP (although i'm sure we'll be trying out the new ones in a couple weeks or whenever the Feminist Equality Expansion drops, so prepare to be peer pressured).

Playing with a controller probably wouldn't be too much of a disadvantage, since there's lots of spray & pray to go along with the vehicles which don't require extreme precision. The biggest problem would be translating "Q that tank, goddamnit" into controller buttons.

Your friend is wrong. Period.

We NEVER have problems finding games in vanilla and 99% of the time we're stuck waiting in queues when we first join a server, and then we stay on that one because its a bitch with a full squad finding space for 5 people every time. We play it literally every week and we've never had a problem finding a game in the vanilla maps, of which there are a bunch in the first place. Sure, some modes are less populated because they're not good modes, but if you play the most popular modes like Conquest, you'll never have a problem finding a match.

There's only 1 DLC pack out anyway, and the maps in it aren't that good. When did you buy BF3 and experience that? Surely not 6-7 months after release. By the time all of the DLC is out, yeah sure then you'll see population in vanilla drop, but like I said above, we play every week and never have problems finding full games.

More people dont have premium than those that do.

As expected you were right. It was NHL 2010 with Patrick Kane on the cover. I guess I mixed up on Joe Thornton being on the cover because I was drafted by the Bruins in that career mode I talked about.

Of course I own a keyboard and a mouse... I'm just really damn sure I would play worse with them than a controller.

I do have Friday nights free now, its just a matter of working my sleep in so I would be up at 8... Obviously, having the game would likely help with that.

Played some of the Gears of War 4 PC Trial last night.

Played The Campaign. Haven't tried the MP stuff yet, but I will at some point.

Man, this game's Campaign so far is awesome. Game looks really good, runs good, and has tons of action everywhere on my gaming laptop. Action is fast, furious, intense, and non-stop. Lots of explosions everywhere; robots + monsters to obliterate; physics stuff happening + windstorms; etc etc. Kicks major ass.

Of course, the cover-shooting style of cover, pop, and shoot that this series perfected (IIRC, Kill Switch did it before them) + made famous - in which tons of shooters have copied over the years, BTW - is certainly here and feels as awesome as ever.

I have my laptop connected to a 1080p monitor, so yeah - looks really nice on a decent-sized monitor (23.5'' inches). Most stuff is at 1080p w/ a scaling resolution down as little as possible to keep performance in the 50-60FPS range. My main gaming rig (my desktop PC) has W7 and never would do the upgrade, so I can't run it there.

They need to bring the rest of the franchise (Gears 2, 3, and Judgment) here to PC.

I'm not even sure why one would do that...

I really need to do more with my copy of the game... Its actually rather embarrassing how little I've done with it cause lets face fact... Windows 10 +1 isn't even a thing. (or if it is its like "Fish Cleavage" and it shouldn't be a thing.)

Reviews aren't all that great but it looks like it could be a good bro night game.

More Razer Wildcat talk... Spent more time with it this week and I got to say its impressing me allot... Some notes:

It's not in anyway shape or form wireless. This isn't a huge issue for most I imagine, and really isn't for me, but I have a really, really, smart cat and she knows that cord leads to the distraction that's keep her from getting petted. (She's even been known to bat at a smart phone too.)

The trigger locks work but with results that differ on the game. In the Division the left trigger lock keeps you from aiming down the sights while the right trigger does what you suspect it would. It lets you get off (and back on) the triggers quicker. Someone who normally burst fires their weapons would likely find it sort of pointless. In Forza Horizon those locks keep you from breaking fully... Or getting full power from the engine. Neither seems to be that useful. (But the right game might find it to be extremely useful.

Extra buttons, I've not tried to program any,.. I suspect what I would want it to do in like The Division is going to be too complicated for it... And its limited to remapping the controller buttons/functions. aka you cannot tell it to ESC, space bar, or another keyboard key.

Stick covers. I decided that I was slipping a bit and put them on... I wish they provided a bit more grip as the difference with and without seems to be nearly nil to me.

Honestly, all in all its been a wonderful controller. Maybe the best 3rd party controller I've ever used on any console platform but even at $59.99 I question its true value. A new official XBone wireless controller is like $59.99 MSRP and I just don't think this beats it. I will be keeping it, and using it, and if I find something truly interesting about it I'll keep you all posted about it.

(Don't get me wrong I am happy to have it considering that wireless/blue tooth issue I had with Windows 10 is fresh in my mind.)

From what I hear, flying the airplanes is much easier with a controller. I wouldn't know first hand because my sole attempt to fly a plane was very brief, extremely eventful and not especially helpful for my team. Since then, I stay planted on the ground. As for sucking with M+KB, practice obviously helps. Some weapons require less finesse (shotguns, automatics) and you can play a useful Medic or even Support if your shootin' skills aren't great by healing, reviving, resupplying ammo, repairing vehicles, etc. I once played a match where I topped the point board on the winning team as a Support doing nothing all game but repairing tanks and capturing points.

Agreed that SP isn't a requirement and probably won't be until they're at #3 or #4 of the DLC releases. Right now there's just four DLC maps and two of them aren't especially interesting and, to make it worse, you either play the regular map mode and rotate through eight (?) maps or your play the DLC mode and rotate through the four. Why they wouldn't make the DLC mode mix the DLC maps into the base maps, I dunno but seeing those poppy fields get old. As a result, we often play the base maps anyway even if everyone has premium.

Like Bah said, we've never had a problem finding a game. We often have trouble initially getting past the queue into a game and then stay put and camp the server. I'm sure the novelty modes like Pigeons and Telegraphs can have slow spots but the basic Conquest and Operations 'cap the point' modes stay full.
