I may be confused as to how this is different from the 7-day trial that was being offered?
I think that (a) It's available to people who previously used their trial and (b) the trial itself was a limited time offer (and not available last time BF1 was on sale). Not sure if they're giving the 10% to "trial" people with this offer or only access to the Vault games.

Edit: Looks like a negative on the discount. At least it didn't pop up when I pit a game in my cart and went to check out despite the "Save 10% on this with Access!" on the store page.

So, let me get this straight?

I could say join EA Access Trial for FREE; get 10% off a BF1 purchase or ME:A; then quit EA Access sub right then and there; and then my trial ends 7 days right now?

Re: Madden 18 on PC

Been watching for more info on this and there's other outlets listing it as being on PC now (i.e. Gamespot). In what may be a harbinger of potential, a game journalist who primarily covers sports games has been asking people at EA at E3 and their comment was that there would be "no comment on this at this time."

This is eerily similar to what happened before WWE 2K finally made it to the PC. They refused to comment or confirm it either way. My guess is that the consoles have an exclusivity period and it will hit PC at some point.

No idea about NHL/NBA Live, but it serves to reason that if Madden makes it to PC, those two (not that I care about NBA Live) may as well.

Madden PC is listed on Amazon.de with a December 29th release date

https://www.amazon.de/Madden-NFL-18-Standard-Origin/dp/B072QFB88S/ref=sr_1_16?ie=UTF8&qid=1497132830&sr=8-16&keywords=madden+18

Yes. But that's for the actual trial, not the general "open vault" going on right now. I know it works because I did it with the Season Pass.

Finally finished my first complete run of Monster Slayers took 18 hours....ah don't you love them rogue lites? Still pretty fun. This game is good if you like deck building card games and min/maxing such as Dominion. Most of the game is figuring out what cards are important, getting good armor/items for getting extra cards/stuff for playing cards, figuring out when it's more important to get upgrades/delete cards/get cards or buy cards. It's pretty fun still and I think i'm raising it to maybe 7.5/10. It was pretty fun, and i can see myself trying to do it with other characters.

No argument about defense should earn more. I assume it's in part because it's harder to determine when "defense" is happening but very easy to determine when the enemy flag is going down. But if the guy with 25 kills and no deaths isn't capping points then he's not really winning the game. And if he is capping points, he should still come out well ahead of the 3-20 guy. I find it hard to believe that the 3-20 guy is uniquely reaching points, surviving the fight (no points if you're in respawn purgatory) and raking in all the points but no one more competent is accomplishing the same. That said, I've never paid enough attention to anyone else to "know" that they only got their points by capping and not by healing, supplying, vehicle destruction, spotting or anything else outside the K:D rating.

At the ends of the day though, I guess I don't really care because once you get your unlocks done, there's no real benefit to being a Level 60 dude or a Level 20 one.
I agree with all that, despite the fact that I've seen this part quite often and straight up seen how people behave in game. It's not a universal thing, but I won't lie I've even done it myself (I'd say an easy top 5 for this sort of thing) and watched my team fall apart. The annoying practice I've done myself here and there when I'm just having an off night and want to level up, and sadly it usually works. It usually involves running around with a shotgun and missing every shot I take.

Actually it looks like the discount applies automatically without you adding to cart. For example, I noted that ME:A was on sale for $29.99 and the DD version for $34.99 pre-Origin Access. Now that I've signed up for the trial, they show as $26.99 and $31.49, respectively.

Should of known....
EDIT: Also, I'm going to be "that guy"; it's "should have known." What you said doesn't mean anything.

Huh, I tried the same thing with ME:A and didn't notice.  Maybe I somehow found a way to mess it up.  Had you previously used the trial?  Maybe it's not counting it because I had.  Or I'm blind.

You oughta know. (Cue angry-ish 90s music.)

I will never get tired of that song.

With regards to the EA discount, I had never taken advantage of the previous trials and was able to get the discount on the BF1 Premium Pass.

Worked for me also... Or at least it did on the Ultimate Edition and Unravel. Now, I wish I had waited a day (or two, how ever you want to do the math) to get TitanFall 2 and SW: Battlefront.

Anyone else have any recommendations from the store before I cancel my trial membership?

Looks like a Madden dev responded on Twitter that there will be no PC version of the game this year. Still no reason to use Origin (sorry Battlefield bros :p).

You got a link on this...?

And are you dodging me? (Your steam profile is set to hidden.)

So, does that mean we get the port NEXT year? ;)

EDIT:

Also, I think there's a few other reasons to use Origin:

ME3 + maybe MEA (don't have MEA, can't speak on it);

DA2 (if you didn't buy it on Steam early) + DAI;

and Battlefield 1, 3, 4, and Hardline.

And that's just for starters, here.

It would be nice if EA returned to Steam somehow. I can understand but do not share their reasons, still I wouldn't mind if they could use a similar approach like Ubisoft got. What I'm saying is to make the Origin client available for those legacy titles of EA on Steam, such as Dragon Age.

I don't have any idea if Valve could let that special situation to occur.

This is where I got my info from, although the person only gives a screenshot and not a link to the twitter response.
Like I said on Steam chat and now here for everyone else... That link says no "SKU" which is a bar code. There's no bar codes on a digital only product.

I just don't understand their thinking... I know I'm a PC gamer and therefore somewhat bias but EA Sports titles can be just as big of a deal for pushing Origin as Battlefield, the Sims, etc.

We all want EA back on Steam, but it ain't going to happen.

EA broke Steam's new rule at the time of "All DLC and expansions must be also sold on Steam" with DA2 + Crysis 2 (which got them both kicked-off Steam or EA pulled them; either way, they weren't on Steam) - so Valve can get their usual 30% fee of every single sale on Steam. Also, at that time - EA wanted to bring their games elsewhere, but wanted ALL their DLC's exclusively on their service.

The other problem was - Steam also was afraid you'd buy a game on Steam; buy DLC elsewhere (on Origin); and they just might not work together. Which then means - then you'd likely have to spend money elsewhere to re-buy the base-game (i.e. on Origin - a place where you can actually still buy DLC + grab free DLC's before actually owning the base-game). At least w/ Steam-versions of everything, chances are - everything would work + be tested w/ Steam-overlay + Steam-client going (not always, though - as obviously Wizardry 8 doesn't work w/ Steam going w/ the overlay).

Plus, if EA put Origin on Steam like Ubi does, they (EA) probably would want their store-page for Origin on there. No way in hell Valve would allow that. I doubt EA would cooperate w/ Valve on that rule.

Plus, EA tried to buy-out Steam so many times and Gabe refused...so yeah, I don't think they'll ever be on the same page EVER again.

EDIT:

About Legacy titles - eh, Dragon Age: Origins (DA1) + DA2 didn't require Origin running (in the background) to play anyways. DAI does require Origin running in the background right now and I so doubt EA would bring that anywhere else (like say GOG) anytime soon.

I don't think we've even seen EA bring any Origin-required titles to GOG yet.

Honestly, at this point I've accepted that it won't happen and I'm okay with that... I just want EA to do right by there costumers in regards to Origin. Get all of Bioware's DLC on Origin, get rid of Bioware points, and bring all your games to PC.

Madden back on PC would be monumental, IMHO; especially w/ Multiplayer over EA Origin service. That would be a blast. I'd love to do some Madden bro nights.

Hopefully, EA was sly in saying not "this year" and just pull a 2K (like they do w/ WWE 2K series and put it out a bit later) and throw a PC port out early NEXT year.

So Reds and I tried out the MP for NBA Playrgounds this morning for a number of hours.

I don't think it was a really fair matchup as I've invested much more time in the game to me and there for have far more players unlocked.

That said we had allot of fun.  Its not a perfect system and I saw some lag but for the most part I thought it was done well enough.  You find matches with friends with a code instead of just picking there names.

The game certainly favors guards, its easier to shoot 3s than dunk, but I would say there is strategy in the game and not just button spamming.  We certainly need to do it again with voice chat. :D

More like Valve tried to strong-arm EA with their "new rule" and EA said "thanks, no thanks".

With the way EA's (often horrible) business practices go, that'll probably unfortunately never happen. :(

And they also aren't big on doing Remasters (which usually contain base-game + all expansions/DLC's + any other tweaks/fixes/revamps) either - https://www.gamespot.com/articles/mass-effect-remasters-are-easy-money-but-heres-why/1100-6443184/

We all want BioWare Points deals, Origin DLC discounts, and/or re-released Ultimate Editions of ME2, ME3, and DA2 w/ everything (Base-Game + ALL DLC's/expansions) - whether via Steam, Origin, GOG, whatever.

But, I don't think this any of this stuff is going to happen. :(

On Steam: those EA games like Mass Effect 2 which have exclusive Origin-exclusive DLC / BioWare Points DLC's are grandfathered in on Steam to not have their DLC sold on Steam (i.e. they basically never got updated on Steam). This stinks, as if there's any place where we might see DLC's discounted, it might be Steam.

As much as I want cheap BioWare Points, cheap DLC's, etc - only way we'll probably get that, is if AmazonJosh decides to finally come through for us; and/or a glitch for those on Amazon happens.

I would bet EA + BioWare make a killing off cheaping-out their DA2 base-games and the ME Trilogy pack, if they need to move units...and then getting the real hardcore rabid fans to shell-out for the Premium DLC's that are rarely discounted every blue moon.

That would be cool enough. If I'm playing Madden by the playoffs I would be allot more happy than I would be with the WWE delayed ports. Roster turnover is bad enough with the time it takes to make the game... More delays just means its really out of date. I mean the current WWE World Champion isn't in the game. (NXT Champion is missing, NXT Tag Champions are missing... Actually, the last three Tag Team champions are missing.)

BTW, I loved Jinder's new long-winded entrance on Smackdown.

I'd also make a wild guess - Smacktalks might've already made models + modded Jinder into the game, music package and all by now. I'd have to look. Since there are so many moves in the games as is, I'd guess his finisher The Khallas (AKA Cobra Clutch Slam / FKA Dream Street) might be in WWE 2K17, anyways.

I wish I didn't run the 24 hours of WWE 2K17 Free Trial out - I'd go check and see if it was there.

Also, since you're on the "No Jinder in any 2K games yet" theme...well, the Universal Champ (Brock) might be in the games, but he barely shows up on WWE TV, too. ;)

EDIT:

More great points.

The problem w/ so much WWE TV - i.e. Raw on Mondays, SD + 205 Live on Tuesdays, and on NXT on Wednesdays - WWE champion changes, gimmick changes, outfit changes, music changes, move changes/additions are always constantly in flux. You know, if they stopped making new WWE games every year - they could probably put us through micro-transaction + DLC Hell, if they really wanted to.

Same could go for Madden w/ roster changes, new player additions, and all of that stuff that likely happen every year, too.

I don't ragret (not even 1 letter?) buying the expensive version of WWE 2k17 but I'm not "happy" with it either. Just a bunch of small things that add up to a sub-par overall experience.

I'm not sure why I haven't ended up getting it... Granted, I have the previous two and haven't done allot with them but I've always (and sometime foolishly) spoken with my wallet.

So me a SKU on Steam, Origin, Uplay.

It's obvious what I was talking about... No point in trying to be dense.

A bar code is a UPC. How am I dense? I will give you credit there are no barcodes on a digital only product but there is an SKU.

Just an example of two things basicly being identical in the eyes of most. Just like most people in this thread view you and your brother.
Just admit you were wrong and move on.

If it wasn't me it would have been someone else.

I wasn't even the first one to call you out on it.

Wrong in my terminology? Sure, I was wrong. You got me *Shrug*

Just realize you were the one being a dick in "how you called me on it" and, sadly, doesn't seem you can blame you "brother" this time.

Have a nice day. :)

Being a dick? I made a joke and you called me the dense one. I responded in kind to that and you decided the best thing you could do is bring a person's family into it. I'm the dick? Sure believe what you want. As far as the issue with my brother that was what a year ago? Longer maybe? Since that time I haven't been posting any bullshit and most of the time lately my posts have been Steam Key drops. Keep believing I'm only here to cause trouble though if that's what you want.

I just reminded myself to get rid of a few games actually.

Three seconds studying under the tutelage of the almighty google will teach you that an SKU...
I see dickness and no humor and I returned in kind.

If you see humor, well, I returned said humor in kind.

Anyhow, I got no more time for you today... and I'm sure everyone else is more tired of this nonsense than me... So like I said. Have a nice day. :)

You took it personal. "The Almighty Google" or "All Knowing Google" is an old meme. I'm sorry you didn't find it funny.

So... how about that incoming heat wave this week!? I hear it's going to be hot in the East, because it's a heat wave. You know?
