Welcome to the Japanese niche games deals and discussion thread!  Feel free to talk about local and import Japanese games here.  Our goal is to maintain a thread dedicated to active deals on niche games including RPGs, Visual Novels (VN), Shoot'em ups (Shmups), Musou, etc.  Also maintained are pre-orders for standard, limited and collector's edition games with key release dates provided.

I've wikified the thread to make it more friendly and open to others that can actively update with important information. You can find the wiki post directly below this one.

NOTE:  Please, leave the censorship discussion away from this thread.  It's common for japanese games to have questionable content outside of the country.  We want to keep discussions to the game itself and not about cultural/societal tolerance.

Our CAG Japanese Niche Games Thread also has a community on PS4, where you can interact and game with other members of the thread.

Our moderators are: Draekon, Las_Hole, and Waffleswanton

You can basically friend any of our members, or any moderator, and you will be able to request to join the community under "Communities friends are in" tab, and a mod will approve your request.

You can also leave your PSN ID in the thread, saying you want to join, and we can invite you directly as well.

:ps4: Warriors All Stars is also $24 (GCU) at Best Buy, and $30 at Amazon. I remember asking Supplice about it months ago when it was $40 and he said it wasn't worth it then. So this might be the sweet spot for some of you. No multiplayer though. 

Also, what's with Olengie's new avatar? o_O

Well, Xenoblade Chronicles 2 crashed on me in the middle of a cutscene. Last save was 30-45 minutes ago. Don't really feel like going back through all those new shops I just reached tonight. I have to wonder why they took out some of the quality of life additions that Xenoblade Chronicles X had. Too many things in this game take longer than they should as well.

I think a few of us are. My notification now says Monday, but on the tracking, it doesn't have an estimate. I usually get an email from UPS when I will be getting a shipment the next day, but didn't yet. I just hope it isn't lost. I had a package a few days ago that was lost according to UPS. It got stuck in transit for over a week with no estimated delivery date, even though it was scanned at my local facility.

Same boat as you except I didn't order the controller. It's scheduled for delivery today. I called customer on Saturday service and they apologized and gave me $20 in rewards certs as it wasn't delivered on release day.

I'm sure someone will say on this forum when it's up and you can order in store if you want to pick up in that store. Otherwise, you do it online and have it shipped to you. I did an in store order for Bad Apple Wars and i'll do it again for this one.

Yup. Front page CAG had a direct link. I went on and preordered it.

 
Debating on the SoM release. Ironically, I was excited for it, but playing it on the SNES Mini scratched that itch. That, and I'm unsure about the remake, despite them claiming it'll be identical.

 
I hate the graphic style they chose. Just like I hated it when they did the old FF updates on the DS.

I’ll still get it when it goes on sale but jeez is it ugly.
 
All the Megman X games in what I assume is going to be a Collection Release, is getting a rerelease in 2018 on PS4, X1, Switch, and PC. 

Capcom milking their stuff for all its worth. :lol:

An actual new Megaman Game is coming in Late 2018 for X1, PS4, Switch, and Steam.

Was going to "replay" X3/X4 on my Vita, bought them for $1 each in the last PSN $1 Flash Sale. 

Now I guess my $2 will be wasted, would rather play through everything on Switch.

Mega Man Legacy 1+2 collection for Switch. Hell yeah!

Mega Man X collection (1-8) for all sorts of current platforms. Oh hell yeah!

Mega Man 11, featuring traditional 2D Mega Man gameplay and level design, with solid-looking 3D graphics. Drooool, gurgle, gurgle.
