How is it a scam? If that item is at Target on clearance at that particular store, why the hell should their in-store pickup price be different? Why, because they won't let deal hunters scam them?![]()
Target has a dumbass-er policy. They will price match up to 14 days after purchase but allow returns up to 90 days. What a dumbass policy.
The only time I've seen something similar was with the Lego nano Millennium Falcon. For some reason, I found it on the shelf a few months ago and it's been off the shelf for over a year. Scanner showed it as $1.99. Brought it to the register and it wouldn't scan. Cashier uses a hand scanner and it comes up as $1.99. So they manually fixed it.Actually, I had an instance where the app said the clearanced price, the scanners said the clearanced price, online says clearanced price (but not available for shipping), but the register scanned at a higher price, and had to fight to get it adjusted.
(The Flybrix set, for anyone wondering.)

It's a scam because different locations clearance at a different pace depending on how much they have left and maybe a budget. Clearance is to liquidate on hand inventory, not to provide you the ability to order online items at a location that is currently out of stock of an item they were trying to get rid of. This is why most stores so not match clearance process and you can't get price adjustment on clearance markdowns. It's common sense.

Again, I'm not talking about having a Target price match another Target's clearance price. I'm referring to using the in-store pickup option to pick up an item that is on clearance at THAT particular store. Walmart will do it and BestBuy is actually set up in a way that their online price will actually reflect the price at each particular store. It's a scam because different locations clearance at a different pace depending on how much they have left and maybe a budget. I'm hoping the DO will be 20% off like the last two retiring modulars have been with the free Christmas gift set.The Detective Office is one of the better modulars. I'd say pick it up if anyone was on the fence for that one.
The Ferris Wheel is also pretty awesome, but has a much larger footprint if you are starved for space.
There is a Diagon Alley promo set available 11/9 - 11/21 with $99+ purchase. What a lousy November Lego calendar. Not a freebie in sight.
That will go perfectly with the Harry Potter great hall that's $99.99There is a Diagon Alley promo set available 11/9 - 11/21 with $99+ purchase.
That was $65 at Barnes and Noble last month. It's most of the rest I'll be getting (although I got Hogwarts from Target for $65-10 also). That will go perfectly with the Harry Potter great hall that's $99.99
Thanks for the heads up. I'm not a HP fan, but I was going to place a large Pick a Brick order to finish my UCS MF display. There is a Diagon Alley promo set available 11/9 - 11/21 with $99+ purchase.
The promotion excludes pick a brick orders unfortunately according to the page on the Lego shop. Thanks for the heads up. I'm not a HP fan, but I was going to place a large Pick a Brick order to finish my UCS MF display.
Sweet carousel. I'm thinking about picking up the modular Diner for my daughter which would bring us up to date on all the modulars. I have $40 in points which helps too.I'm hoping they're just holding back on revealing the BF promos. Otherwise, I guess I'll wait until December to make my Lego purchases and get that free carousel.

I'm probably in for a $100 purchase to get this, but looking through the website and seeing the prices for the sets I can see why I buy so many fewer Legos than I used to. I might pick up a few Elves sets, but those are a lot cheaper elsewhere. There is a Diagon Alley promo set available 11/9 - 11/21 with $99+ purchase.
D'oh.The promotion excludes pick a brick orders unfortunately according to the page on the Lego shop.

noDo you all think I'd still get the Diagon Alley if I preorder a bunch of Overwatch sets? Would they ship the Diagon if the Overwatch aren't coming until January?
I have exciting LEGO news.
The biggest LEGO news EVAR!!!!!!
It seems that the orange brick separator will be retired and the new color for 2019 is.... TEAL!!!!!!
It's getting retired soon, they may have held back for the sale but who knows. Will the Ferris Wheel come back in stock then?
It was OOS when Diagon Alley promo went live, so I'm not too hopeful. It's getting retired soon, they may have held back for the sale but who knows.
That sucks, I'm sure all the resellers are buying them up.I checked one store only (not my usual store), and they didn't have it.
I'm not that sure about that any more. Walmart actually has it for $140 right now. I guess I'll buy one there, and return if Lego gets it back at the same price with a gift or something. That sucks, I'm sure all the resellers are buying them up.
30% off you say? It's normally 20%, so this makes me happy. I need the DO and want the Fishing Shop. I have no idea whatGWP is but they will have one of the Bricktober sets.Detective's office, Old Fishing Store, Ferris Wheel, Heartlake Hospital and a number of other sets will receive a 30% discount for BF. These sets will more than likely not be available much longer after the sale. Also, LEGO stores will have a surprise GWP (possibly those bricktober minifigure packs that were once exclusive to TRU).
Hope this helps!
That didn't last long, back to $190.Since I posted, the ferris wheel has been matched at Amazon, OOS at Walmart.
I was able to stop in Barnes and Noble and get the Harry Potter Bricktober set. Of course the staff were clueless but there were printouts about the promo in the toy section. The Minifigures were in a small case behind the counter so I’d go sooner rather than later if you want to try to get them in store. The NinjaGo Bricktober thing is free when you spend $50 at LEGO Stores IN STORE ONLY on Black Friday.
BN will have the Harry Potter Bricktober THIS SATURDAY with $75 (maybe $50, but I think $75).
Target.com has a bunch of sets 30-40% off and through Wednesday has a $10 gift card when you spend $50, that's a good deal.
I have to work tomorrow and then LEGO 'date'.![]()
Interesting. I saw an ad that said it was in store today only. So it probably will sell out quick, but that's good.
I can’t make it until later, we’re celebrating my sons bday. I’m just glad I could try and order online vs being driven to eBay.Interesting. I saw an ad that said it was in store today only. So it probably will sell out quick, but that's good.
