I haven't really been paying attention since Ive been on vacation this week, is the news about Halo Infinite coming to playstation real? I saw it on twitter so hard to believe anything on there, especially with NFL free agency going on and literally everyone signing contracts with every team according to people on there.

YMMV but I just got notified that I now have a 40% off video games in my Target Circle Offers. Not sure if there's any good sales to combine this with right now.

for sony none that I could see on target. But switch wise there was a crazy amount of first party an even a few preorders that were applicable. Also don't forget the extra 5% with red card which stacks. so 40% off then 5% off.

I found GTA5 on the PS5 store but it's only the GTA Online portion?

It was free and it's still downloading but how do I get the single player regular game?

Maybe I need to insert my PS4 disc but that doesn't seem to make sense.

You need to buy the story separately for $10. Should be able to find it under new releases.

I would bet that was done at Rockstar's request to ensure that only people who have the system now can get it for that price.
While I agree it should be available to everyone, I can see why Rockstar would do it that way. From a financial standpoint, it makes sense.

These keep getting so close to my buy price. My PS5 is full, but I think I'll just deal with it for a it longer. Might grab one this summer for prime day or wait until black friday. Would love to wait for a good deal on a 2tb ideally.

Looks like an actual spiritual successor to Until Dawn is coming from Supermassive Games.

Click the three dots on the right of the GTA5 tile. You'll get all sorts of options for versions, and one of them is the PS5 story mode for $10.

For me only the PS4 version I owned showed up and said "in library" or whatever, but clicking the dots let me buy the PS5 story version.

When you buy the story mode, does it include the GTA online or do you have to add that separately? Don't currently have a PS5, but I was able to get story mode by asking my cousin to buy it for me on his PS5.

I think when you buy the story mode it's a package with both for $10, but I'd have him grab the online for free through PS+ for you just to be sure.

If you don't have RE2, RE3, or RE7, they've got pretty good discounts now ahead of them getting free PS5 upgrades later this year:

  • Raccoon City Edition is $24 with both RE2/3. RE2 is $16 by itself.
  • RE7 is $9.99.

There's a free-to-play Bleach game for PS4 that is a port of a mobile game:

https://store.playstation.com/en-us/product/UP6455-CUSA26679_00-1196507384143037
So as a huge Bleach fan I played this on mobile like 2 years ago and quickly got addicted to it and spent way too much on it even after I said I wouldn’t spend anything on it to begin with. Ended up wiping my account and deleting it so I would never go back.

I want a full AAA Bleach game so badly but take it from me: Avoid this game. It isn’t worth the time and money. Please don’t play this. It won’t fund a AAA Bleach game. Save yourselves.

Thanks. I found it now.

In other news, GT7 has been down for almost 36 hours at this point.

Patch 1.07 has already been replaced with 1.08 and the servers are still down.

Going to be lots of conversations about how you can't play the (majority of the) game offline after all of this.

It won't let me play any of it, so...

It ain't that serious for me. When you factor in that and the cost of the console, I'd rather just get a half decent PC. And I'm not even much of a PC gamer.

It's always that way with systems if you're serious. You likely get another controller, maybe a charging station, and you upgrade the HD space either externally (I have a 4TB external for PS4 games) or internally for the PS5. I did mention and was poked fun at a bit saying that HD space it came with is trash, and frankly it is with how much HD textures, HD audio and other things take up nowadays. It does suck that your investment cost about $800 or something before games, but you don't need to do it all at once. I like my bigger HD and I like my blue controller. PS5 still doesn't have the best of games yet. There aren't enough of the best exclusives yet, but it will eventually. it's still the go to console for some Japanese developers, although Switch is gunning for that title too. Plus the backwards compatibility makes it a PS4 Pro+ as well. All in all it is worth it overall. I may sound like a fanboy and maybe am a bit, but it's the future of gaming, and it looks good. The heatsink on the Adata is near garbage just knowing my PC parts well, but hopefully it will do. I would prefer a larger heat sink, but this price is good, and I bit on it before.

Looks like GT7 is back online again.  Lots of races have had their credits nerfed though.

That'll be an ongoing thing for the people trying to add tons of credits.  Not a big deal for me though.  I'm still working my way through the license tests and missions.

Yeah I wish the Heat the Soul series on PSP had gotten a version in English. Fun games, but only in Japanese.

I played this series going back to GT4...played the mess out of 5 with GT5 HD, GT5 Prologue, GT5, and GT5 XL before getting burned out during GT6 and playing a tad of GT sport.

Watching vids online it looks like more of the same but I was wondering if you played the last 2 or 3 games and still feel excited about GT7. I personally am hesitant to grab it because I'm tired of missions and license tests (for which I think GT6 handled those in the most fun way).

I have all of those games, but didn't play them as much as this one.

Honestly, I'm playing it to beat times that my friends put up on challenges and to race against one of my neighbors.

The cafe stuff allows you to build up your garage in a new way, but so far it is a lot of the license tests and missions like the past.  I honestly want to spin up GT6 and GT5 again to see what the biggest changes really are though.

Just have to complain a bit of how terrible the search function is on PSN. I searched "Stranger of Paradise" and I had ZERO results and it just gave me a list of nonsense dlc for some other games. Spelling was accurate and everything.

How is the infrastructure still so bad?

PSN has the worst search functionality that I know of. I don’t know why such a simple search doesn’t work. On Xbox, you get a lot of stuff that isn’t necessarily what you want but the top items usually match correctly. Sony has some work to do.

Man, so nice to have tons of storage available on the PS5.  Downloading everything I have thought about playing for the last 6 months onto the system.

I was able to find Stranger of Paradise on the PSN Store. I only typed in Str and it showed up before I can finish typing the rest.

yeah, i think psn designed to work best when you only type in a few letters, whole searches, especially with multiples words, really throw things off.

You would think a big company like Sony could get a decent search engine implemented for their store. Maybe they should just outsource that work to Google?
