Okay so I am sure people will be posting any really good deals here. I will try and see if I can contribute although I am mainly into PSVR 1 and 2 sales and am so stoked we are getting 5 on the service next month.

I pulled the trigger on Rise Of Ronin. Been waiting for that to go on sale. Still $50 but really excited to play it. Unsure if I'll buy anything else, guess I'll see if anything else screams out to me

You don't play any online games on xbox or PS5?

A physical copy of PS5 Nioh Collection for $20 is tempting but I am not sure I need more backlog.
I mostly play Forza Horizon (can play enough modes to unlock the new cars every week), Rocket League, and Halo.

I am also tempted by the Nioh collection because it’s a good deal, but I dislike the genre.

Grabbed Horizon complete edition, Rebirth and Rise of the ronin for effectively $122 total before tax at Target. A bit more than my normal buy points, but oh well.

State of Play is back! Tune in live for updates on PS5 and PS VR2 titles, plus a look at PlayStation Studios games arriving later this year.

The 30+ minute show features 14 titles, and begins May 30 at 3pm PT / 6pm ET | May 31 12am CEST / 7am JST on YouTube, Twitch, and TikTok. See you then!

I must have missed that in the reading but oh yeah way back when those flash sales were the best
Still remember Friday Flash sales on PS3 and one time they have 99 cent games those were the days 😥

I'm thinking I will. Just need to ascertain and download my cloud saves. Still incredibly shitty Sony paywalls those ...
My essential plan is ending on the 11th and they're offering me another year for $60 but I just can't do it. I used to get it on sale for $40 which I thought was too much since I don't really use it too much besides cloud saves and the occasional monthly game that looks interesting. They really should have some sort of $10-$20 a year plan just for cloud saves if they're not going to give it to us for free or let use do local back ups.

I remember they used to be like $25-$30 on Cdkeys

Stupid Question. My PSN expires in July. Can I buy an extra year at a discount now before it expires or am I s@#t out of luck and will have to pay full price in July? I'd like to get in on the deal for PS+ but not seeing any way to do it. Thanks for any replies.

You can stack multiple years onto your current subscription. You don't have to wait until it expires.

Well Sony hasn't done anything to maintain their lead this console gen. this stuff is like clockwork. hubris and conceit is off the charts.

Can't wait to see who comes out swinging and earns market dominance on the next cycle. This gen has been like casual fine dining restaurants and their 'a la carte' price gouging. No one is willing to move away from service models, and in response, nobody cares. Core gamers are not spending big, or feeling any allegiance. These companies treat us like we are here to service them.

People are excited about the Switch 2 more than anything. Not more 'paid service' bullcrap. coming at you in waves, of sequential paywalls. just to get into multiplayer games or earn character customization.

One could easily take a year off and just start accruing cheap PC or digital game libraries. AAA isn't working, and publishers are getting frustrated. The people who bought in to "next gen" haven't felt rewarded. The people who haven't, don't feel any rush to upgrade. Really poor marketing, and value, all around.

psn cards are 6 off 2 25s or 12% off at dollar general until june 1st. sadly im strapped for cash until a couple days after that.

I doubt anything changes next gen.

Xbox is all in on game pass and will have a difficult time walking that back (this assumes there's even an Xbox console next gen). And since they're clearly struggling with game pass financially, I suspect it will only go up in price.

Meanwhile, Nintendo will continue to make underpowered consoles with a side gimmick/hook. And that leaves Sony in a dominant position for high-powered consoles.

The wildcard would be if Valve tries their hand at another Steam machine.

I'm very curious to see if the rumored PS5 Pro is a thing and if Sony is stupid enough to double-down despite knowing there's no buy-in. I think they did have plans but had to scrap them last minute upon seeing how there's no market demand for it. Seeing as they're an electronics company first, that must've hurt.

Regardless, generations are a misnomer now as there's not enough to bridge between each console anymore. At this point they're just updating the PC inside with faster hardware. All I know is I love the formfactor of the XSX and will be hard pressed to give it up anytime soon.

I think you're out of luck. The article specifies the discount is for new subscribers. Existing subscribers can only get a discount to upgrade their current subscription not extend it. They haven't offered a discount for existing subscribers to extend their membership since they jacked up the prices.

Between May 29 – June 9, new players who join PlayStation Plus can save up to 30% on a 12-month membership plan. Local promotional dates may vary for this deal, so please check the Days of Play web page for local details.
Current members can get 25% off PlayStation Plus Extra, or save 30% off Playstation Plus Premium for the remainder of their membership when they upgrade their memberships between May 29-June 12.** Additionally, all PlayStation Plus members can get 15% off content from Sony Pictures Core starting May 29 through June 12. You can also check the Sony Pictures Core app*** to find additional offers during Days of Play.***

Yeah it looks that way. Thank you. I'll just downgrade or cancel in July.

When I was playing Stellar Blade, I got to the last save point and, knowing the game's ending changes based on a final choice which gets locked in even if you reload before the final boss, I said to myself, "Oh, I'll just back my save file up on USB and overwrite it to get another ending! That way, I'll only need to play the game twice for the platinum!" So I googled my plan to make sure it'd work and oh, I forgot! PS5 doesn't allow USB save backups! Only cloud backups! Which require PS+! And Stellar Blade only has one save file! Because Playstation is paywalling save files now!

Have never had PS+ beyond a few free trials and I don't play games online enough to justify it. I'm very averse to rewarding Playstation for their anti-consumer practices and overpriced services. It sucks enough having to pay for Switch's shitty peer to peer online.

Why not just beat the game multiple times which its built to be beat multiple times with replayability

State of Play tomorrow:

Honestly curious what they'll show that we don't already know about... I feel like the Last of Us multiplayer game was supposed to be this year's big release but that's dead. I'm not even sure what I'd even want to see. I feel like we're just going to see more remakes and PC ports, and whatnot. I read they're working on making PSVR2 compatible with the PC, which would be neat, especially if it meant I could use it to play Alyx (I'm not buying a PC VR headset for 1 game).

Really hoping for an Astro Bot game

Virtually every PS5 game I have even the slightest interest in playing is still being published on PS4. This is the best generation ever, I don’t even need to buy the hardware.
Until you play actual PS5 games and leave (majority of) load times behind (and shiny graphics paired with a new TV of course, LG OLED is amazing)

With recent rumors stating they are waiting for new releases...GTA 6, I figure the PRO is a real thing. I say I don't need it, but I know I will get it. At least a new console will get used versus adding the 100th game to my backlog (ok more like 20th game, but I am not including my Steam games, No idea why I keep buy new games/bundles lol)

I never got around to picking up a PS4 Pro (seems like Sony didn't produce many of them), so it was an easy decision to grab the PS5 at release.

I'll consider getting a PS5 Pro if it's $500 or less and has more than 1 Tb of memory. Otherwise, I'll just spend the money on a larger SSD for the regular PS5.

I haven’t had a Playstation since the PS2 - didn’t game much while the kids were young. I finally picked up a PS5 in November. So there’s a lot of catching up to do. We are one of those families where PlayStation plus extra makes sense. We’ve been getting a lot of use out of it. Also has cut back on my Switch game spending, lol.

We’re due for a TV upgrade (we’ve been using a cheap BF special). My husband isn’t big on electronics though so upgrading may be a tough sell.

First 24-hour Flash Sale is 85% off Assassin's Creed Valhalla Complete Edition ($20.99):

The most recent game I bought was Double Dragon Gaiden, give me the blow by blow on how much prettier it is and faster it loads on PS5.

I mean, I did, three times for three endings. Playstation is still shitty for not allowing you to back up PS5 saves with a USB.

My first (and only) PS4 was a slim because I didn't have a 4K TV at the time and didn't think I'd get one, so I cheaped out. I actually got my first 4K TV not too long after getting the slim though and regretted skipping the Pro. I waffled on getting PS5 until a couple years after its launch (when it finally started getting some games) and I don't regret the purchase at all. I'm very happy having essentially a PS4 Pro (finally!) and a PS5, and for any game that has both a PS4 and PS5 version, I opt for PS5 to avoid the loadtimes. The PS5 is freaking fast! Sure, it's nice to have the free PS5 upgrade with PS4 discs, but I prefer having native versions (plus, it expands the PS5 physical game collection).

OMG me too. My first 4K TV was a Black Friday one that died two years later. My second (and current) is also a BF one, but it's lasted I think five years now. They're both LG, a brand I've come to really love, and once money allows, I may finally upgrade to something better. I'm not in a huge rush though, since for a budget model, my TV is really great.

PS4 Pro was literally one of the best deals ever. I got the Star Wars branded one on clearance with Target circle for only $270. They had a really good circle offer one week on the discontinued models for only like $300. Then turned around and took my day1 PS4 to gamestop and sold it for $290 cash. It was sooo satisfying.
