OMG me too. My first 4K TV was a Black Friday one that died two years later. My second (and current) is also a BF one, but it's lasted I think five years now. They're both LG, a brand I've come to really love, and once money allows, I may finally upgrade to something better. I'm not in a huge rush though, since for a budget model, my TV is really great.
For me it’s not the money (husband just got a new job with a huge raise), it’s the fact that I hate getting rid of something that still works. I have nowhere to repurpose the TV. When I bought that one the old one went into the bedroom (And the bedroom Tv still works).

I’d say PS5 generation (disc) is better than PS4 because it plays all PS4 games better. I skipped PS4 and now I’m scooping up PS4 games on the cheap.
My buddy did the same. He went from XB1 to PS5 because of the new games like Spiderman 2, but mainly for the huge backlog of PS4 games he completely missed. He was telling me how he just beat Uncharted and loved it.

PS4 Pro was literally one of the best deals ever. I got the Star Wars branded one on clearance with Target circle for only $270. They had a really good circle offer one week on the discontinued models for only like $300. Then turned around and took my day1 PS4 to gamestop and sold it for $290 cash. It was sooo satisfying.
Was this late 2017- early 2018? I think I remember that deal cause that’s when I got it was well.

I have a C1 and while it looks good, I really miss having a brighter TV. I've heard the C4/G4 is much better now.
Have you tried the APS mode? My eyes have adjusted to the dark room mode after using it for so long. APS seems to be more similar to non-OLED screen brightness.

Congrats to your husband! Yeah, I'm the same way. I haven't upgraded my TV because it's breaking or anything, but because it still works and I could never get rid of it knowing that. Unfortunately, I have nowhere to put a 55" TV except my living room, so I'm either going to have to wait till it dies to upgrade or bite the bullet and upgrade before then.

I joke that my PS5 is a PS4 Pro +, but honestly I gave my old PS4 to my sister and never looked back. Very few PS4 games run incorrectly, so I'm happy with it as well. The PS5 is ugly as sin and I hate the stand and the aesthetics. I have a launch one.

For me Astrobot for sure and eventually Dynasty Warriors. I always try to play Monster Hunter games but end up getting bored/frustrated very quickly. Samurai game looks OK enough to look at reviews on release, Silent Hill 2 looks OK, and that Ballad game looks like decent enough souls like stuff. Astrobot really saved the presentation for me as everything else was just good enough to look at, but not really my style.

Holy crap, Astro Bot looks amazing! I've actually never played Astro's Playroom, but I think I need to finally get to it. My husband's going to lose his mind for Monster Hunter (one of his favorite game franchises) and Dynasty Warriors Origins looks like it could be the reboot the series needs. Hopefully it doesn't make the same mistakes Samurai Warriors 5 did.

Although, if the game is called Dynasty Warriors Origins...shouldn't it be a fighting game?🤨

Dynasty Warriors origins looks great! Finally a DW game that has current gen visuals and technology behind it. I love the Musou games.

Ballad of Antara looks really good. Looking forward to seeing more about it.

Monster Hunter Wilds looks like pure 🔥. Rise was solid, but it didn't come close to what MHW was imo. Wilds looks to build on the great foundation MHW laid down.

Silent Hill 2 looks good. The original was a classic so I'll give the remake a chance down the line.

I can't be the only one who thought the Silent Hill 2 content looked like hot garbage right? Like I watched the Sony SoP and then the Konami Transmission and... Just oof. Visually it looks... Okay at best? Feels like bloober still hasn't figured out how to get lip sync working. The combat looks... Idk fine at best? The audio sounded worse than the original. I can't tell if I have such high regard for the original that his new remake feels worse or if the trailers just look bad.

I'll admit I'm also biased because I really haven't enjoyed a bloober team game yet. I want to love the remake. Please give me this game back in modern day. Just give me the original. The remaster sucked and this looks.... Not promising

I would more or less expect The Median gameplay and stuff. I'm sure Konami got them on the cheap and it will probably get 6s or 7s at best

I'll probably pass on it. I have too many of these in my backlog.
I actually got through the Trails of Cold Steel 4 and have never been more impressed with a series of games from a story standpoint. Definitely glad I started at the 1st one. Also glad that I was late to the series and at the time I had all 4 ready to play and didn't have to wait for a new release. (you really have to like lengthy RPGs because they all took me over 100 hours each, I did not play them back to back to back to back). I could not imagine trying to get caught up on the series now. I have Trails of Zero and Trails from Azure and just can't get into them...I am on the fence on this next one.

Yeah I need to restart my playthrough of TITS. I'm very, very behind too, but people love the series to death and I haven't been liking Tales games recently, so there is a little bit of an RPG hole I need to fill. Also behind on FF so there's that.

The only thing that matters was the last 3 minutes. Astro Bot - PS5 - September 6
I don't get teh excitement? Seems like Ratch & Clank without the weapons and story? Astro was a fun, free game when PS5 released. Maybe I don't get it because I spent all of 15 minutes with that tech demo/ game

Weird. It is one of the three games on PS5 that I actually enjoy. To get a full game of this is what I have been hoping for since I played the tech demo. You even say it was a fun game so more of a fun game seems like a good thing? I dunno, maybe that is just me.

I had a blast with Astro Playroom on PS5. I'm glad they are turning that into a bigger game.
I just want to see some more fun first party games from Sony. Not everything need to be a over the shoulder third person action or shooter.
Don't get me wrong I enjoy those games too but lets mix it up sometimes.

Give me a new Astro, I want a new Sly Cooper or Jak and Daxter. Revive some of your old fun IPs.
Make smaller games that are fun and don't take five to six years to make and 200-300 million dollars investments.

The only thing that got any emotion out of me was Monster Hunter Wilds & a little bit for Astro. Ballad of Antara & Where Winds Meet look interesting but I'm going hold my judgement til there's more info. If their confident in in each release I really think both of those should take a play from Stellar Blade & put out a demo down the line as it would really help nab those who are on the fence about either of them, like me 😄

I would like say I was hyped for Dynasty Warriors as I do love Musou games but I haven't enjoyed a mainline entry since like the PS2. Lastly having not one but two Overwatch clones & opening your showcase with it does not impress Sony.

My wife is livid over the remaster of James. It's one of, if not her most favorite game of all-time and she's boycotting it already. For me it's too little too late (and are we still skipping Xbox, Japan? JFC grow up. . .) as my interest waned a few years back. I wasn't excited seeing it finally announced and the Transmission they held after didn't change things. I'll let this one remain rose-tinted.

It's what people liked about Sackboy, but now as a Mario clone. I can't stand platform/puzzle games anymore; the evolution of games have ruined that for me with more to offer. Sony has clearly found their new mascot and all they had to do was rip off Nintendo to do it. Given the fact Concord is a blatant Guardians of the Galaxy/Overwatch clone, the trend doesn't stop there.

Sony is finally bankrupt of ideas.

Kind of a gigantic leap there don't you think?

Games influence games and put their own spin on things. I just don't understand the hype is all. If you have sworn off platformers you are missing some really fun games. Also Guardians was an adventure game where Overwatch is a multiplayer hero game is it not? I do not see how you can pair those games together seeing as one is clearly contained within a story and the others is multiplayer only (no offense to Overwatch player's that get into the lore of the game, never played it personally)

The characters were clearly Guardians inspired, right down to the nagging Gamora. That's the skin they chose for an Overwatch clone is what I meant.

Astro Bot's charm is the use of other Sony IPs and hardware as elements within the universe. The only similarity to Mario is that they're both platformers, in which case there's a massive list of games that are Mario clones.\

But I do agree that Concord looks like a knock off GotG

I'm going to get massive flak for this but when I played Tomba a few years ago, it wasn't as good as I remembered it. Very floaty jumping, great graphics/music/sound, and it felt frustrating many times. I still think it's an alright game, but I used to consider it a great game. Also it would be nice for Tomba 2 to come back as well, but we know for games brought back they rarely bring back every game enhanced all at once.

I made the mistake of starting Dredge so I could get the boat PS Stars collectible and I'm hooked. After I had already started FC24 so I could get the other PS Stars collectible. Now I have three games in progress that I want to play all the time.

I'm also super excited for that Astrobot game. If they release that controller, I'll probably pick it up.
