Target Clearance Thread XXIV

So one of the Targets in my area has gone to this. Not a lot of games but much much easier to see.

still not 70%?

In my area at least, not that I have seen as of a few days ago for the current round of clearance video games, but I'll be looking to continue checking. If I recall correctly there is supposedly just under 2 weeks left before salvage. I'm thinking it kind of needs to happen by early next week. A guy I know in electronics at my local says they do clearance markdowns on Tuesdays but I don't know if that holds true on a broader scale.

I decided to try a different location today and saw some video games marked down to 70% off so it seems like the store closest to me is behind on the clearance markdowns. Anyone who may have been holding out on something; now might be the time to check.

My NES world championship preorder from May is back ordered. Target is really quite bad with preorders aren’t they?

I've had one pre-order cancelled because I didn't keep authorizing a pre-order (why just why and I did authorize it before a few times!). I'm giving them a chance with the November pre-orders, but yeah usually my go to for pre-orders is Best Buy followed by Amazon.

I have had a terrible time with preordering non video games from Amazon. 4 out of 5 of my preorders have been canceled.

I have had one preorder canceled and several delayed for no reason with Amazon. Amazon in about two year time went from being my go to for EVERYTHING to buying only if it is my only option or a great deal. Amazon only, I will not ever buy anything from Amazon Warehouse/Resale again.

Amazon has been GARBAGE for niche game pre-orders lately. They usually don't get enough shipment so your pre-orders are likely delayed (happened to me with the latest Shiren and an otome game as well). Also Amazon has not been good for getting games shipped on time for release day for pre-orders either with me usually getting games 3-4 days later. Now people have complained about Best Buy before, about delaying pre-orders a few days, but for the most part I get my Best Buy pre-orders release day or the day after. Gamestop for how little I use them also tend to get me my pre-orders day of or a day or 2 after release. Amazon just hasn't been very reliable lately, and with their first party beef with Nintendo (they don't get pre-orders and sometimes just don't carry games), I am using them only for certain games , such as Atlus/Square-Enix games which get a million copies are fine for pre-ordering although it's best to wait for price drops, as they fall pretty quickly even within a month of release. Amazon also tends to sell out of pre-orders for niche products too adding to that pain. Just a no go for Amazon for pre-orders for me.

I tried checking a different store yesterday and Miitopia scanned as 70% off there. Whereas at the store closest to me Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot and Among Us went 70% off, but Miitopia and Disney Magical World 2 seem to be stuck at 50% off.

So judging from the recent comments here as well as my own observations it seems like there may be some variation on some of the clearance games at different locations as to whether they may go 70% off or not.

So on a Target dot com order like Star Wars Outlaws that has a physical pre order bonus (Steelbook) can I return just the game & keep the Steelbook? Does the Steelbook take up a certain amount of the purchase like BB would tie up $10 or $20 with the Steelbook as part of the purchase?

I don’t normally buy non-sale/clearance stuff at Target, let alone preorder, but I wanted the Steelbook but the game right now has horrible bugs including progression stopping ones on my platform of choice, XBox.

Thanks in advance.

would like to know as well. idk why I took a chance on it. seeing a bunch of mid and bad reviews. only care for the steelbook And my copy hasn't arrived yet so can't even tell how the receipt would look like

From what I read on Reddit, Target has their own sku for the pre order steel book and would reduce the return by $19.99 without it. But it's reddit so probably won't know for sure until launch.

Hm ended up getting my package late at night but seems like same sku but it shows 2 units so we’ll see what the system does when I ask them how much I’ll get back tomorrow lol

Just returned mine using my app receipt. Got the full amount back. May be ymmv but I doubt it. I just asked first how much I’ll be getting back then I returned just the game

There’s also a bunch of copies of gold edition instore. Hopefully they go on clearance like the good old days

my local store has zero clue about the steelbook. I saw a flier about in store only for it and they have advertising for the promo, just two different electronics reps either couldn’t find or knew nothing about the steelbook.

Here’s the details on the Outlaws steelbook.

Apparently only certain stores got them in. I have two targets not too far of a drive. One didn’t get any and the employees knew nothing of the offer. The other got about 10 steelbooks in stock. One employee said it only comes with the gold edition purchase, another said any edition purchase counts.

The steelbook does NOT ring up as a BOGO item. It scans as $0.05 as its own line item. The receipt will say “buy 1 get 1 free” under the outlaws game DPCI yet there is no discount and you’re charged the $0.05 as its own item.

The store that did have them in stock kept them in their stock room and was not advertising the promo. You had to specifically know and ask for the steelbook.

Used the app to do the return in store & no issues getting full refund giving back just the game & keeping the Steelbook.

Does anyone have Astrobot preordered from target ? Does it say backordered? Mine does so just wondering
