Please do not post referral links in this thread. There are threads for referral links here.
In an older thread everything went to sh*t once it became full of referrals and it was worthless for anything else.
If that starts happening here, I'll delete the thread and be done with it.

Edit: thanks! I'm all set now!

Does anyone with verizon wireless and the myrewards section of the app have a $75 off meta quest coupon they aren't planning to use and would be willing to send me via DM? I think I'm ready to take the plunge into the quest3, but they don't let fios only customers get these perks.

Is there a better place for this post? There's no thread for verizon reward coupon drops or trading of those...

Thanks!

There's not a lot of traffic in this thread, but you might luck into something. You might have better luck if you apologetically ask in an off-topic post in the xbox or playstation threads.

I figured it was more on topic here, and that someone here was more likely to not need it because they already have a quest. I wonder if it would make sense to have a random deal code trading thread over in the trading area... sorry to waste space on the thread with my begging.

Huge thanks to LucarioLG for hooking me up with a code!!

Not a problem. I hope you can get a code and join us here more regularly.

Anyone that upgraded from the Quest 2 to the Quest 3 is it worth it? I mainly use mine just for gaming.
It was worth it to me, and the one I bought is $150 cheaper now. The first difference you'll notice is a jump in resolution and less difficulty with finding a sweet spot where it's less blurry. Many games have had quest 3 upgrades for more improvements visually and in game performance. Another thing to consider is that quest3/3s-only games will be more common going forward. If you don't play a lot of new games and just have a few that you play regularly, this isn't as big a deal.

I thought those codes were attached to accounts. If that's not the case, I'd like one too. Did you get it from another thread or someone seeing your post here? I think you might need to create a Verizon wireless account to use it.

Guessing you bought the 512 one that is the ones I am considering buying, since I like to have all my games downloaded. Differently interested in the new Batman game that comes with it which is only quest 3.

Yeah, I like being ready to play something when I want to, so I like having them loaded. But most games don't really take that long to download. Games are definitely getting bigger, though. If you have a lot of gaming stuff just sitting around, keep in mind that gamestop does sell these things. Always an option, just make sure you trade stuff you are certain you will not miss.

Is the WiFi better on it? I feel like downloading on the Quest 2 always takes ages and I have fiber internet. Yeah no GameStop around me has them, I'm looking at BestBuy for it.

I don't recall thinking it was that much faster to download games when I got it. There may be a difference and I just forgot about it. After all- that was a whole year ago and my memory seems to get worse by the day. But I'm pretty happy with the speed. My wifi is around 500 mbs.

I was able to check out without even logging into my verizon (fios) account and the coupon worked fine. A very generous user here hooked me up. Now I just have to wait for the package to arrive so I can finally play some of my old VR favorites with higher resolution, better lenses, without wires, and not even having my PC turned on. Talk about progress!

Awesome! Be sure to use a meta friend's referral link before you activate it so you both get $30 meta store credit. I hope you enjoy it and feel free to message me if you have any questions.

How do the Verizon codes work/where do you use them? I don’t have Verizon, but I think a couple of my friends might. Or if someone here is willing to share, that would be amazing. My friends are the kind that don’t pay much attention to rewards program, so I’m going to have to walk them through it. Asked one buddy if he knew about the quest referral program (had a quest 2 for a few years) and he had no idea what I was talking about.

Verizon Wireless customers who are the main billing account can do this. It doesn't work for FiOS only customers.

In the "My Verizon app" (you may be able to do this from the web, I was able to find myAccess there, but couldn't access it for my FiOS only account) select the myAccess tab. Once on myAccess they should find "Anytime Deals" in that list there should be one: "Get $75 off Meta Quest 3 128gb" If they click on the quest deal, there is a claim button at the bottom. Once they press "claim now" they can see the code. If they text you the screenshot of the code (or use Copy Code" and paste it to you) you will be able to check out from the verizon store with the discount code here: https://www.verizon.com/products/meta-quest-3-virtual-reality-headset-128gb You apply the promo code on the order review page, and you don't need to make a new account or even log in in my experience. It just let me through to purchase without doing either after failing to authenticate for login once.

You might check that link to see if there are any in stock near you, because when I just typed this up for you I noticed the link said they are currently sold out for shipping. It might be worth trying to get the code anyway in case they come back in stock.

…Instructions...
Thank you for the generous write up. I wish I’d come here sooner, because it also shows none available in my area. With the recent price drop I’ve suddenly become much more serious about getting one. Assuming I will still use my PSVR2 as my primary gaming headset, I would have absolutely been fine with the lower memory model for the price difference with this deal. Now I have to weigh how much I want to play Batman vs how good might potential Black Fall sales might be.

I hope you manage to find a deal. The Target 10% or 20% that gets added to some accounts might work on the Quest 3 if you can find one in your area and have the discount on your account (I don't at the moment).

The Quest 3 is really impressive. I'm coming from a history of owning a lot of older technology VR headsets (a few WMR headsets and an HTC Vive) and the second I put this thing on I was blown away. The passthrough cameras and this superior lens clarity combined are total game changers.

Will the novelty wear off and will the honeymoon phase end? Of course! But over the last few years I've had plenty of experiences in which I wanted to play some of my favorite short/quick "pick up and play" VR experiences but then didn't because I thought about the time I would lose setting up my WMR headset, routing my cables, launching Steam VR, initializing a new boundary, and fighting to find a sweet spot angle for the headset. This thing is good to go from power on and so I think this will have more staying power.

Good luck in your hunt!

Woot (aka amazon) has the official Blood Orange color facial interface for $15 (down from $50 msrp). No experience with it, but I just ordered one in the hopes it's better than stock.

EDIT: I just read these are the same materials as stock. I'm probably going to cancel my order if I can. Drag.

(NEW) Meta Quest 3 Facial Interface & Head Strap $14.99

I just posted this on the discount codes Reddit thread, but not everyone checks there. 50% off Breachers: GTVR-5D28A4 (got code from Gamertag VR YouTube video). I haven’t bought it, but I verified that it works.

The Quest version of Escape Simulator just released. I already own the steam version with all the official DLC, but I just bought the Quest version as well. I reached out to the devs, and they said that it does support cross-play between PC and Quest, but all players must own the dlc to play dlc levels together. They are still polishing the dlc, so it will release in a few weeks. Between this and Another Door (which I haven’t bought/played) releasing today as well, escape room fans are eating well.

Never got an email confirmation for my order from Verizon. Now I’m regretting not making an account or at least screenshotting my order. I do have an email from PayPal that says I submitted a payment, and a pending charge on my card. I have no way of checking the status of my order that I know of

I hadn't seen this posted anywhere else online so I'm sharing my findings with my CAGs first:

My Target had the "Meta Quest 3 Elite Strap with Battery" on clearance for $38. Unexpectedly they bothered to put the "Compatible with Quest 3/3S" sticker on it despite being marked down with a stack of progressive price drop prices all the way down to 70% off at $38.

Stores show lots of stock and show full price on-line, so maybe there's a different new SKU with explicit 3s branding or something? As usual with clearance at target: ymmv.

Happy hunting.

Tried 2 targets around me unfortunately no luck with the strap. They did have the case and charging dock on clearance though

Just want to throw out there for anyone getting a 3s that quest 3 facial interfaces are not compatible with the 3s. I've heard that some of the charging docks may not work with the 3s either, so just check into any of these to avoid a headache.

Hit another target today and managed to snag a case. $21 makes it a better option than a cardboard box.

I suspect the elite straps with battery on clearance are the first run (2023 before a firmware revision). Same store with the case on clearance had no discount on an elite strap with a 2024 manufacturing date. I assume it must be a different SKU.

Dunno if you'd want to give it a shot or not, but amazon had a kiwi design battery strap for $40 after the 20% coupon. It's gotten good reviews and kiwi has been making accessories since the first quest. I think I only had controller grips they made, though, not a headstrap. Grips were good, though.

Does anyone have Space Channel 5 VR? The user reviews are from over a year ago and most of them say the game doesn't work on Quest 3. One review says you get errors frequently but can launch the game if you're persistent enough. I don't mind that as long as it actually works.

Been watching the Q3 page on Verizon and saw it in stock again this morning. Tried to use the coupon code that I used on my order a week ago or so. Was hoping that since that order seems to have vanished into the ether that it would have worked. It didn’t, but I got one from another friend.

Last time, I got a confirmation of payment from PayPal but no order confirmation from Verizon. This time I used the same cc, but didn’t use PayPal. Don’t know if that mattered at all, but this time I got a confirmation email from Verizon right away. Figures, since this time I took the precaution of screenshotting my order #, lol. Last time I was given a huge shipping window. This time it says it should ship tomorrow with 2 day delivery. Fingers crossed

That Maestro game looks brilliant. I would've never heard about it without your constant updates, so thanks. The description says you can play without controllers and wave your hands like a real conductor. So Meta Quest can track your bare hands without the camera having to focus on a device?

Yeah, they've been working on that for some time. You can do most menu functions and many games controller-free. I still use controllers when I can though. I feel so awkward when I don't have a controller in my hand.
