My 2024 BF haul:
-Silent Hill 2 ($30)
-Phantom Liberty Cyberpunk DLC (rarely on sale)
Everything else on sale, either: I already have, or just aren't deep enough discounts.
It seems that prices just don't wanna drop, and considering that the quality of some games aren't high enough to warrant even the sale prices. We are seeing a higher "floor price", but are not getting the same increase in minimum quality. And if tariffs keeps this games prices high (or goes higher), I'm fine with skipping some games entirely and work on my backlog.
The price / quality curve is really at maximum divergence; where it used to be prices were low enough, that you could add that $20 middling game to your backlog. In a way, I'm glad consumers are being more selective with their money; devs and publishers will need to understand that we expect better if games prices got raised to $70. Gamers will look to the second-hand markets and eBay to find the better deals in the coming months, if the pricing stays inflated (or rises). I know I'll be selling SH2 on eBay once I'm done with it for ~$20, so I'm sure others will do the same and push the pricing down ourselves.
