I have never bought from LRG but was super tempted to preorder the Castlevania Dominus collection. However, the overall impression I had about them was not good, so I didn't do it.

I really hope this is something that VGP might have in the future.

VGP should get it and it shouldn't sell out too quickly as they still have stock of the Anniversary & Advance collections with some variants. This isn't a guarantee, just based on what they have offered... the outlook is good. One the plus side the aftermarket on ebay still has the previous collections also at decent prices. It's only stuff like the Persona games that the prices kind of sting if you missed them, especially since VGP sold out before a lot of folks had a chance to lock in an order.

As much as we talk around her about issues with LRG, it's a safe place to order a standard release game outside of the wait. BUT, think through your purchases closely. How badly do you want that physical copy? I used to collect everything castlevania physical, but over time and seeing how quickly the digital prices drop and how small the downloads are, I'd rather just go digital. Plus there's the price factor. Yes the price for the game physical was $35 but tack on tax and shipping and it's $45 for me. $45 vs $24.99 for the digital (10% discount for owning Castlevania Anniversary Collection digital already actually ends up paying the tax)... and I can play the digital version a few minutes after I buy it. That to me ends up a happy compromise. With sales, I will end up spending less for Anniversary Collection ($5), Advance Collection ($12), Dominus Collect ($25), and Konami Arcade Collection ($5) than just buying Dominus Collection physically after tax and shipping. If I wait for Dominus Collection for the inevitable sale in the future that makes it $15, then even better. Stock isn't running out on digital for this series. I can play the long game here unless I get the itch to play these games sooner.

Okay that truly is "forget you ordered and be happy when it arrives" territory. Thanks for the synopsis.

As long as you can deal with the wait time and truly can forget the order and you do not plan to move in the next year or so, it should be fine. The problems happen when you forget and then you get the email that something is shipping and it's too late to update an address.

I still don't understand why anyone would buy their collector's editions in the first place. They are never worth it based on what is in the box and how long they take to produce. Everyone should know by now what you are getting into when you buy a collector's edition from them.
Yeah the quality to price ratio has definitely gone down. Their earlier CEs were pretty good (despite my damaged steelbook, I love the first Streets of Rage CE), but they also cost less with better items like physical soundtracks, and a lot less or none of the paper crap.

People should have learned by now.

Seems like anything that's reasonably popular ends up at VGP so I'd say you'll see it sooner or later.

That would be great. These Castlevania games are pretty special to me, I still have the original nintendo ds carts and even have the preorder bonus for Portrait of Ruin from back in the day!

Found an unboxing video for that preorder bonus:

VR games are instances where I lean digital, because of having a headset on (and headphones) and it's more of a hassle to switch games. So when I see a physical VR game, I'm torn. I own a fair amount of physical PSVR games, but more quick-play games, like pinball, make more sense to have digitally.

Either way I don't have PSVR2 and don't plan to get one.

IF I were into VR gaming, that Kayak game would probably be up my alley. I love to kayak IRL (I own two of them) but I don't do the ocean, white water, or extreme locations like the cover depicts. Mostly just slower moving creeks that aren't white water and then very slow flowing rivers where there's a lot to explore.

Kayak VR made me sick. Pistol Whip and Beat Saber were fun for a bit, but I have a dusty PSVR2 I've not used in months. I have the PC adapter. I need to look into if my PC can run Alyx on it before I think of getting rid of it.

You guys see this? LRG bringing some of its crappiest games to GameStop. :)

Though I will try to get Tail 'Gator.

I wonder how long before GS charges retro prices for LRG repos...?

Anyone ever order from NintendoSoup.com ? I placed an order more than 3 weeks ago and haven't got any shipping updates.. wasn't any pre-order in my order and I've messaged them 5/6 times with no response from them..

Did I just get scammed ?

MK8 with dlc? You haven't been scammed.

Yea I ordered Mk8 with DLC + 2 other games.. been 3 weeks and they don't respond to my multiple messages/emails about why it hasn't shipped.. updates nada - have you ordered from them before is this normal for them ?

I have never ordered from them. Have you tried tagging them on Twitter? Did the listing give you a shipping window?

Never heard of them. Went there now to look, and I want some of their stuff. Let us know if you ever get your order. Looks like it ships from Japan?

I ordered the Links Awakening Remake Steel book edition from them way back and received it without issue. I believe they are shipping from Singapore though so. Good luck!

products that are already released and are in-stock usually take 2 – 5 days to process unless stated otherwise in the listing.. so I'm at 3 weeks with nothing -

Inquiries will be answered within 3 business days their website says lol.. I've sent like multiple messages to them with no response so idk what to do

I thought that sounded familiar. I did the same and got it no problem
Well it's been a bad experience for me.. I wish I had a phone # to reach them and see what the issue is cause they took money out my bank account for the order, and that's been the last thing to happen

VGP has 2 Xbox copies of Grandia HD in stock if anyone was after that version. (PS4 is still OOS)

The PS4 copies of Grandia on VGP weren't affiliated with LRG's copies right? So there's a good chance there'll be a reprint?

EDIT* Also forgot these were like pretty pricey, ~$70 USD... wonder why?

They are a bit pricey. MSRP from LRG was $55 so it's about $15 more. VGP will do free shipping at that price and no tax though, so it narrows the difference a little.
The PS4 copy is also listed as a Limited Run Games copy.
The Switch one on their site is an Asia English import, is that the one you meant?

Edit: (The digital PS4 and Switch versions are currently on sale for $19.99 too https://www.dekudeals.com/items/grandia-hd-collection )

Nah, was talking about the PS4 version- for some reason, I thought all LRG games had their logo on the cover but now I see on their website it's the same as the cover on VGP. Not sure why I thought all LRG games had the logo on the front but looking at a few, it seems like NS games do but PS4/5 games do not.

Strictly Limited and First Press are certainly reminders that as bad as LRG is, it could always be worse…
I have an outstanding Ray’Z Arcade Chronology order from SLG that’s getting close to a year and a half old. I’m not sure what “preparing production” means, but that makes me think they’ve not finalized what they’re sending to manufacturers yet.

SLG sent out an email a few days ago that included a banner for their Cyber Monday sale, up to 50% off select titles. Well, one of the titles is 'Eschatos' for Switch which still hasn't been produced and many, myself included, preordered a year and a half ago as well. Maybe it's a mistake, but if it's one of the games at a discount, oooo I'll be mad. That'll finally convince me to cancel my preorders (I also have Ray'z and Steel Empire preordered).

I got same email.. it's a Strictly Limited Games "Cyber Weekend" so I guess
we'll see what decent deals pop up for grabs.. I ordered stuff the other week so if they go half off I'll pick up the deals & cancel previous order

I mean, that's what sales typically are.
I mean, there are still two dudes on Facebook who go to the store on a regular basis to sell games from off the shelves.

If only they had a online store where people could buy in stock product on a regular basis...

LRG is unique in their shelf rot syndrome. Instead of loss leading certain games to get people into stores (or running actual clearances), they're giving a slight discount on games that failed to meet minimum order quantities in terms of sales that been around for years now. That's stuff most stores would have dumped ages ago.

And that includes bulky overpriced collector's edition.

Their company, but inventory costs money. And it not moving costs more. But what do I know, not like I haven't been right on most of their other business bullpoopie in the past.

They probably sit on them to not the tank aftermarket value and make suckers collectors think they'll still have some insane value.

I've Been shopping LRG since Breach & Clear Vita. I'd love to visit the LRG store for some deals deals and just to see what else they have at an LRG physical store.
