That Riki 8-bit collection thing is just 2 games and 3 soundtracks. Not interested, games look hella basic... but it took a bit of reading trying to figure out what was included since it listed 5 games but it's just 2.
They are really basic NES games. The soundtracks are also 'games' in that you play (Start/load) the game to play the soundtrack, and the songs have little optional minigames during them. It's more of a cool novelty when played directly on an NES for the sound/animations, these are just ports to Switch so you don't need an NES to play them but it also makes them a bit less interesting.

I'm out of the loop on LRG and distro PEGI releases though. I wish it were clear if there were going to be an ESRB release of this too, or not.

Got an email today for a "Last Chance" on the Vault drop 1 items. I wonder if this is another FOMO tatic before they offer another higher percentage off coupon, if they just destroy the stuff and write it off, or if they just ship it out to someone else...

They got me for the NES books, with the coupon and media mail being offered for them it came to like $22 total, that’s worth it I suppose. I almost did the Astro mini but I don’t need more plastic junk I won’t use taking up space.

I had a (bad) feeling LRG would be publishing Shinobi over here. Like...SEGA...god...
I mean, outside of the big releases from Sega, Yakuza, Shin Megami/Persona, Sonic, LRG has basically become the physical publishing arm of Sega at this point…

On the upside, they’re usually pretty easy to obtain (persona 3/4 notwithstanding obviously) and aren’t typically numbered releases. Just don’t sleep on those skate decks, they’re goin fast!

They also didn't specify whether the game will be a distribution or numbered release, so there's a decent chance the standard editions end up on Amazon. Most of the Sega stuff hasn't, but I think this is the first time they're doing a new release with Sega as opposed to re-releasing "complete" versions (Valkyria) or new ports (Yakuza). New releases with Embracer (Soul Reaver, Tomb Raider) went that way.

Still feels like this should've been retail regardless since it is in other regions.

Maybe it's because of actual economic anxiety, my collecting habit has stalled. I still sniff out deals when I find them, but I have no inkling to pre-order any new stuff whatsoever.

Given the uncertainty of the price of goods over the next... Forever? ... I'll be focused on saving my pennies and playing more of what I have now.

I wonder what's going to happen to Switch prices, more so limited print stuff, once Nintendo goes full Switch 2?

It is just insane to pay $70 before tax for a new game. I mean I love to play Metaphor but by waiting for 6 months I can get it for $25.

I'm in the same boat as you, waiting for my Midnight Edition, but be honest: would you be that surprised if they missed their own deadline?
My issue is I’m moving in 3.5 weeks so if this isn’t shipping end of March then I have to try to change the address.

Don't know why your Castlevania Dominus Collection would be delayed.. I ordered all 3 Nintendo Switch cover Variants and it was delivered to me 9 days ago on the 17th.
I would assume it is because I ordered the Xbox version of Castlevania Dominus Collection from LRG.

I ordered the Switch exclusive variant cover version on the Konami web site.

Raidou Remastered: The Mystery of the Soulless Army Collector's Edition will be coming form LRG

I think the standard release will be at regular retailers. I've seen preorders up already at VGP.

I'm confused why they changed the name.. I thought it was something that was previously never out in the West but looking it up, I see it's just a Remaster of the PS2 game.

I am going to wait to see if they add any more games I may be interested in before I order Gradius Origins.

Question for anyone that is ordering one copy of the game, which cover do you like the best?
I think I'm going to go with Gradius 3 cover.

Yep I got one last week as well.

I also got my replacement CoA for my P3P XBox SEES Edition. No. 326 of 570.

I opened my NS SEES but I don't see a certificate of authenticity. Where is it supposed to be/where was yours?

Also, I find it a little curious that they were just able to give you a COA that's uniquely number... Like they just happen to have one and it was uniquely yours? Or they just made one up, which I know wouldn't be too surprising since these mean nothing really?🤔

Should be on the right side underneath the All Out Attack frame.

I assume they kept a list of who was supposed to get what certificate since my number isn’t at the end.

I also got a 25% off code for my troubles, which I used on Sunday for the top tier Karateka/Tetris editions.

Is Limited Run as slow with shipping for you as it's been for me? Because I ordered a Sega Astro City Mini back on the 14th of March, and I still don't have it.

I'm barely about to receive a shipment with just one game in the Castlevania the DS collection that was shipped on March 27th today, so it's not crazy slow, but it is slow.

I've been trying to avoid retro game packages on modern consoles, and LRG in general. But Gradius Origins is tempting. If it were M2 handling the porting and developing, I'd be in for sure.

EDIT: Also no PS4 version? You could probably run this game on a Wii, give me a break. I bet PS4 would outsell the XBox version.

#NotPoliticsButActuallyPolitics

That aside, these massive tariffs are likely to massively drive up Limited Print costs and/or outright kill the market.

Board game companies are issuing letters of concern. I don't think LRG has said anything yet, but I cannot imagine their margins will remain the same.

This is how physical titles die... A trade war instead of a console war.

LRG is in a strange spot. They do have Embracer Group to lean on... but even if they get over all the hurdles of all the preorders they've done ... especially for CE's where most of the content is manufactured in China, they'll have to limit sales to in country (especially where reciprocal tarrifs are concerned) and limit the CE's to what can be produced here. Which, all of it is going to cost more. Personally, I was out for everything except the occasional standard edition game. But the prices on standard version are likely going up as well. OF course all of this could change in a month. So, who knows.

It does seem like right now for me, the more attractive path for gaming going forward is to just go digital. Especially with how the virtual game card system is supposed to work with original Switch and Switch 2. That's already going to make digital a lot easier for my family as we live further apart and it's not convenient to loan physical games (though I still do loan games). But that's me. Part of that is just getting old and realizing as much as I love physical games, I hate the chase for them. I hate the FOMO of wondering if something will go out of print so I need to get a copy for the shelf to one day maybe play. It would be nice not to buy any games until I'm ready to play them. To live and game in real time instead of stacking up another backlog that I may never get through.

What's going to hurt LRG the most is the latency between collecting money and fulfilling orders. They sell something for $X with the assumption that they'll pay Y% in tax/tariff/whatnot. If there's suddenly a new 104% tariff on those goods between collecting the money and sending out the order, they have to eat it, they can't just charge someone more at that point.

Good thing they cleared out the backlog in 2017, eh? https://x.com/LimitedRunJosh/status/901652387504508929

That latency, I think Embracer may step in to help, but they'll have to change and be more picky about CE's if they are going to continue them. Then again, if they are only paying $0.02 for that plastic thing from China, a 400% increase even isn't going to affect anything. It really comes down to the cost of producing those items, not the retail "value" just how bad this all is for LRG.
