Amazon BOGO on selected HD DVDs

Weird question -

I have noticed in this thread and others that an awful lot of people bought the two mummy movies but nobody bought Van Helsing. I have always considered them all very similar, and almost a trilogy, just Stephan Sommers popcorn flicks. Does everyone really hate Van Helsing that much? Does everyone really think the Mummy flicks are that much better?

I was not fond of any of the three movies. I will admit I didn't watch either of the Mummy flicks in one sitting it was broken up.

I think many people seriously dislike the van helsing movie. I don't really recall my impression of it.

They just cut the list down to 27 titles now, I JUST ordered the 4 Harry Potters before it changed, however I had Fearless/The Hitcher in my cart to find out it totaled $50+, they took Fearless off the new list :(.

I hated Van Helsing so much; I still get pissed off even thinking about that piece of dookie. Same can be said for the new AVP Requim, another stinking pile of baby feces.

Well this fucking sucks,

I was waiting for my bank account to stop "routine matience" so I could tell how much money I actually had, and BOTH of my movies that were in my cart are gone now..

Thanks Amazon

You mean you didn't want to just charge yourself into oblivion like everyone else in this country?

Call them up or send them an email, explaining exactly what happened. They have excellent customer service and I'm pretty sure that they'll still honor the deal that was in your cart.

Well I sent them an email, since I have to get ready for work, and don't have time to call them. Hopefully, it'll help but I'm not holding out hope

I mean, why would they change the promotion so quickly overnight like that, seems stupid.

They weren't even new movies, I wanted Meet The Fockers and Casino. Yet they leave the Harry Potter movies, that they could easily sell at full price

I decided to sleep on it since I couldn't decide if I was just buying because it was there, or if I really wanted the movies. Now near half of what I wanted isn't part of the offer, so I'm guessing thats a sign to wait.

Anyone see what nine movies were removed? From an earlier post above, it looks like Casino and Meet The Fockers. From what I remember, it looks like the two Mummy movies were removed as well.

Any ideas on the other five?
Perhaps them removing Casino is the reason why my order hasn't shipped? :O
Casino is back now, I don't think them removing it, would trigger that but who knows

Some of the changes were the removal of Mummy, Mummy Returns, Fearless, Traffic, Meet the Fockers, Red Dragon, Breach, Field of Dreams, Hurricane

Also a price increase in Evan Almighty and Knocked up from 1995 to 2795

Yeah, I was thinking of buying Breach and Traffic, and now both titles have gone missing.

I'm curious how is it amazon's fault you don't know how much money you have in your bank account?

These sales usually sell out titles fairly quickly. Sometimes Amazon will add more stock later in the sale. Keep checking back.

damnit...that hurt the wallet:

Got Harry Potter 1-4, Dune, The Big Lebowski, Serenity, Fear and Loathing, and Blade Runner.

Total was $107 but I ended up saving about $80 after promo. Plus all the hd-dvd's were a lot cheaper than B&M store prices before the discount. Retail price for everything I picked up was about $280.

I never blamed Amazon for not having money, I have money. I m mad they just took away items from the promotion

the item is still in-stock too
Looks like the Potter movies are now gone from the list...
Hmm.. that was their big selling point. But then again, I can't imagine them turning a profit on the potter movies w/ BOGO...

At least that brings up the HD-DVD sales numbers.

This format war needs to end soon.

I think Amazon is just ignoring my email..lol

I called CS at Amazon because I wanted Mummy 1/2, but noticed it was taken off the list; the guy I spoke with said that the quantities for BOGO are limited stock and once the quantity is reached, it's taken off the list. Wish I'd jumped on this yesterday!
I'm actually thinking about getting Serenity and the Big Lebowski.
Serenity = GREAT movie! Amazing in HD (the first one I bought...don't know if that affected my perception of it!). Anyone know if they'll be bringing out Firefly in HD? :bouncy:

If Firefly does come out in Hi-Def, it will be a Blu-Ray release due to Fox owning the rights to the show. I was actually searching for this info earlier today.
This format war is what's getting us these BOGO's. I'd like to see it continue forever :D
You hit the nail on the head, sir. :applause:
im still temped to get children of men (never seen it) and another combo..

i wish theyd drop the price a lil on the combos
I really didn't like Children of Men, so I would say it's probably not a great blind buy. Also, your sig is the first time I've heard of HD VMD. Interesting stuff.

Bingo!!! I have both HD and BD, and prefer BD - but I want this war to continue. I love the low prices.

I did not buy anything from this sale, but I wanted to. :) HP and the Mummy were what I was considering. (Problem is wife hates those movies... so I tried to be kind.)

Anyway, I just bought my brother an HD-DVD player, so I am firmly straddling the fence. :) Support both so that neither wins!! woohoo!!!

Take Care,
Matthew

I hope the war continues forever and ever too, at least until "super" hd-dvd comes out and its rival "awesome" blu-ray ,I got jet li's fearless and evan allmighty from the list

I disagree with the other poster...Children of Men is a great movie and would totally recommend it as a blind buy. Haven't seen it in hi-def yet tho.

Don't do it...you will regret it. I've seen it and its a very disappointing film, never understood the whole hoopla about it.
Has anyone actually had theres ship yet? Mine still haven't... :/
I already received mine from the 1st day.

Children of Men is by far one of the best films of last year (top 3) and will go lists that comprise the top 100 films of all time in the future. It's that damn good. That said, if you didn't like it, it's because you were looking for an action flick, and while this has it's moments that is not what the film is about.

Had to get on the Potter Discs. Have the boxset but hate the packaging. Gonna get in on the BB B3G2 deal this weekend and finish up the potter selection.
Looks like all 39 original movies are back up on the list again...
Yea! I picked up HP 1 and HP 4. Didn't really care for the other two.

Or it's not a good movie. It's overhyped and boring.

See, it's called opinons........

I wasn't expecting an action film at all when I saw it, I just thought that the story was lacking and the ending plainly just sucked. I wished that they would have gone a little deeper into what kind of place it was where the girl was heading. I know that they dropped hints and all but come on.
